Her expression flattened slightly, smile disappearing some.

‘Is he onto me? Should I kill him?’

The threats were pounding in her head, one hand, in her pristine lab coat, tensed.

“I know that he’ll be quite okay under my care in this case, Professor, I’m making sure that he is getting what he needs, and that he’ll be all better, It’s what I’m here for, after all. I am worried for his safety, though.”

“Well, you hide it well then. But I’m hardly one to judge, am I, of all people.”

“She didn’t like that turn at all...” He thought to himself, looking down at the clipboard she had notably kept from his sight. Something was off, but he knew full well he couldn’t brute force his answers like he could his dissections.

“So, there is nothing you would need that you don’t have access to? You have it all under control, it seems. If this is the case, surely it wouldn’t be a problem for you to share any materials you have on his condition with a fellow Doctor, right?”

Yet again, the witch was spending another day in the DWMA, tending to students tediously, and most importantly to her, Maka Albarn and Soul Evans. They were obviously quite the dynamic duo, and she had to stop them.

But one certain person had their eye on her and she knew. The doctor and professor of the school.

He had always constantly been on her mind, and how he thought, and more importantly, what he thought of her. It racked her mind, and she wanted to know. ( Did he figure out who and what she was? Or did he just think she was a simple nurse? Ha! probably not. )

She was internally begging to find out, but she didn’t want him to know.

“Are you just going to stare at the clipboard blankly all day, or am I interrupting something important of yours?”  

Stein had seen the nurse staring blankly into space in her office from the hallway on his way through the academy. Taking the opportunity to explore his curiosity with the still enigmatic faculty member he was now forced into proximity with, he slipped in behind her silently, hoping to catch her off guard, perhaps catching her in something before she could regain her facade. 

Something seemed off about Her, but yet he could not place where his anxiety around her was coming from. Surely it was not just a random hunch, however. The Doctor knew his own conscious better than that. At least, he used to.

She jumped an the familiar voice that rang through the room. She froze, Turning around with the calmest look that she could muster up.

“Oh My.. Professor, you’re always sneaking up on me.”

The clipboard was softly set down, face down. She really didn’t want him sneaking through her stuff, especially that this information was not for his eyes. She cleared her throat, smiling softly.

“May I ask what you need?”

He eyed the clipboard, noting the odd placement of it, but paying it no mind at the moment, instead processing her reaction to himself, keeping his usual stoic face. 

“She handled that surprise well (But that was to be expected, wasn’t it?)”

“What can I say, it keeps you all on your toes. Plus, from what I’ve heard, a bit of a jump is the least of your concerns.” He indicated towards the door. “You’ve got Soul still out there with that wound, and last I saw him, it was anything but normal. I don’t suppose you would know anything more about his condition?”

Her thoughts swirled, eyes showing the least bit of fear. Soon, she selected the best believable answer.

“Well; I want to make sure it’s healed up correctly, and make sure that he’s feeling alright, I don’t want a weapon being in pain whilst in battle, of course~.”

He raised an eyebrow at her response shortly before returning to his neutral expression, wondering what the brief look in her eyes was supposed to mean. He had no way of being sure, but at least he knew something was up.

“I suppose that is the job you’re supposed to be doing here, and we certainly wouldn’t want anything else to happen to a weapon who’s been hurt that badly, would we? But surely you know that was no normal wound, it wouldn’t still be an issue if it was. You seem oddly unconcerned about the severity of the situation, at least for a nurse at this school.”
