ever onward to the stars
Since people seem so interested in stabbings–
When we’re training, us police practice on each other, taking it in turns to be the ‘police’ and the ‘criminals’. And we practice things like disarming assailants with knives.
And whenever we finish an exercise, and swap roles, we always put the knife/knife stand in on the ground. Always. We never-ever hand it over.
Why?
Because we used to end exercises by handing the knife over. The thing about these exercises, is they are to build muscle memory and instinct. But sometimes your muscles learn not just the exercise, but what you did immediately after.
…So there was a rash of cops disarming people, and then immediately returning the knife.
And that’s why we always put the knife on the ground.
Oh dear

Amentans have found habitable planets. At 4:19 this morning, the first exploration mission returned to our world with news of five confirmed Amentan habitable biospheres, and an expectation of more to come. Amentan feet have walked upon extrasolar planets; Amentan breath has mixed with their air. It was the fulfillment of a dream Amentans have shared since we first looked to the stars. When asked to comment, explorer Thesha Pepalma said, “Our children, our children’s children: none of them will ever suffer empty springs again. Are you gonna go space?
I hope so! I want to! There’s - so much we’ll never have seen before, to learn from! (And space! And babies!)
Our country still needs to do cleaning.
But I hope once we do there’s a place for me (and my mom, hopefully!)

And we’ll burn, burn, burn As we fly out through the stars When I was born my mama Never thought I’d fly so far Say good-bye to this rock Find a new home far away Burning bright as a brand new day
Goodness, I am so relieved. We took the credit, of course, who can resist that kind of sudden windfall of a price drop. But no matter how I love my country, there’s nothing to savor about thinking your baby might be growing up to die in some sudden conquest of the world.
But - no, it was never that. Our baby will grow up with planets. Our baby will grow up to explore the stars.
The sky is full of stars.
If each star was a grain of fine sand, you could not hold them cupped in your hands. They would overflow you, spilling over and out.
We overflow with abundance.
The galaxy is a river of stars.
I think I might buy a space themed quilt... I imagine those are on sale about now!
