@asklysa-blog
Third of the way through dance, but I know what happens.
How's Ser Vardis?
You scoundrel!
Ser Vardis was the captain of my guard and you killed him! Never set foot in the Vale again, you coward!
Sister, father is getting worse, I think you should pay him a visit, I'm sure he would be very pleased by your this, It maybe your last chance, Lysa.
I will visit as soon as possible, dear sister. A trip from the Eyrie is quite long and strenuous, so I will attempt it when we are ready.
Lysa fic: (i tried to put in a cut but it didn't work)
Lysa heard her sister's footsteps in the adjoining hallway catch up to her. When her sister turned the corner, she could tell her sister was furious.
"Lysa, where is Petyr?" demanded Catelyn.
"In his chambers..." she whimpered.
Cat walked briskly past her younger sister, muttering curses under her breath. Lysa quickly followed, knowing that her sister forgets her presence when lost in thought.
"What happened, Cat?"
Cat broke her train of thought to answer, but didn't slow her pace. "You haven't heard? Petyr just challenged Brandon Stark to a duel for my hand! Why would he do such a thing?"
You know why. "I heard. Why don't you ask him yourself?"
"I'm doing that right now," answered Catelyn just before she stopping in front of Petyr's chambers. It felt like they had walked the whole length of Riverun in a matter of moments.
"Wait out here, I'll try to bring him to his senses," said Cat before she opened his door.
I doubt that. Petyr seemed to have refined his cleverness alongside her sister's stubborness through the years, making him more than a match for her.
"What is the meaning of this, Petyr?" Catelyn demanded as the door shut behind her.
Lysa sat beside the door and listened. It seemed like that was all she ever did these days.
"Good morning, Cat. How are you?" greeted Petyr in his usual playful tone.
"There is no way you will win against Brandon Stark."
His tone changed to one much more serious. "There is a slim chance, but I must win," admitted Petyr. "I won't allow them to take you away from Riverrun to that horrible place."
"You know full well that it wasn't my decision," Catelyn repeated for what sounded like the hundredth time. "It was decided between my father and Lord Stark."
"But you said that you hated your trip to Winterfell," he argued, "that no one in their right mind would live in such a cold and lonely place."
"That was before I was betrothed to Brandon, Petyr. I don't feel that way anymore," Cat lied.
"It doesn't matter. I will win, you won't be betrothed to him anymore, and you won't leave." He really believes that.
"How are you supposed to win against a man grown who is twice your size?" she asked. "He has fought in tourneys and won against many men older than you, and larger. You will get yourself killed."
"I would rather die than see you marry Brandon Stark," he confessed.
Lysa couldn't believe it. She doesn't love you the way I do! Why do all this for her?
Cat paused. "This is madness. If you somehow survive this, my father will show you no kindness. He will banish you from Riverrun.
Do you really want to do that to me, Lysa, and Edmure?" she pleaded.
Lysa thought of her baby brother, who loved to squeal with laughter when Petyr played games with him.
"This has nothing to do with them, Cat. The day I duel Brandon Stark, I will either win, or I will die."
Did you love Jon Arryn? Were you "in love" with him?
I was not "in love" with Jon, but I tried to love him as much as a dutiful wife could.
askbaelish:
Would you rather be Mormounted or Littlefingered?
Petyred. <3
((AskAlayneStone says))You have lovely jewels, my Lady.
Why, thank you my dear.
Some are gifts from suitors here in the Vale, but I hope they aren't under the false impression that I might accept their offers of marriage if they give me priceless jewels.
I will choose my next husband, but my choice will not be determined by who gives me the prettiest jewels. ;) *giggles*
Sister, Are you going to help my son, your nephew, King in the North, in the war against the Lannisters or not?
I have had no ravens requesting aid from your son. I'm sure you would agree that my bannermen would appreciate your son asking me himself, instead of you, sweet sister?
My dear lady, may I ask that you be kinder to my daughter? She, after all, has done nothing to provoke your wariness. Also, be cautious of your correspondence with the Targaryen girl. I fear it may be detrimental to my efforts of keeping you, Alayne, and Robert safe.
Don't worry, Petyr. I was just explaining the rules of living at the Eyrie to Alayne, who might not understand that they are implicit. Since she is your daughter, I will be ever like a mother to her, and treat her as mine own child. <3
I will be more careful when I deal with the Targaryen girl next time. Thank you, Petyr. ;)
Lady Lysa, what were your feelings for your late husband?
Jon was a devoted and faithful husband, and did his duty in the bedchamber. I loved him in a way that a dutiful wife should.
But, otherwise, you must understand that he was quite old (half his teeth were gone), cold, and his breath smelled like bad cheese. I cannot abide a man with foul breath.
From AskAlayneStone:Lady Lysa, what do you mean by saying "hands off" in the tags of your last post? I haven't done anything that I'm aware of.
I don't mean that you have done something I disapprove of, just be aware never to take advantage of my kindness and good nature. After all, I am the Lady of the Vale, and it would not be wise to cross me.
Lady Lysa, why does Petyr Baelish draw your eye and affection?
Oh, Lord Baelish is easily the most handsome and cleverest man in all of Westeros. He also has certain other abilities that I am quite fond of. ;)
Besides, I love how his breath is always minty fresh.
Thank you so much for taking my in, Lady Lysa. --AskAlayneStone
You are quite welcome. Although you are a bastard, it is a favor to Petyr, so I am happy to oblige. :)
We share a mutual hatred for the Lannisters. Am I able to assume that when I take control of the throne I shall have you and your child's blessings?
When you take control of the throne, you will have the full support of my son and I. Those Lannisters will see to their punishment for murdering my lord husband.
Does your son bite when you're breastfeeding him?{love your background as well!}
Of course not! My sweet baby boy would never hurt his dear mother!
{thanks!}
This isn't a question, I just wanted to say that I love your background. It's gorgeous.
why, thank you. :) the vale is quite lovely in the summertime, isn't it?
