Shino isn’t the best at making gifts, though he does put quite a bit of thought and care into every gift he attempts to make…In the end he ends up just buying gifts. Same amount of thought and care! Just…Better quality. As for promises, Shino tends to be very good at keeping promises. Unless he feels some need to expose this promise, for the most part, his lips will be sealed!

“I believe love at first sight all depends on what sort of love you feel. I can’t exactly invalidate the idea, all I can really give is my own thoughts and feelings on the matter. When I look at an insect, that is when I believe it is…’love at first sight’, as you said. Why? Because that love isn’t romantic, nor do I need to build a relationship with that insect in order to say that I love it. I love the sight and the idea of it, which in theory is enough to consider it love.”

“When it comes to romance I’m not exactly…Well-versed on the subject. When in comes to platonic love or romantic love, I don’t think you can really love someone upon first glance. You can love aspects about them, but to love everything within a person at first sight just seems ridiculous to me.”

Today the Department of Awesomely Good Deeds salutes costume designer and master embroiderer Romy McCloskey who used her fine skills with delicate materials to help a monarch butterfly she’d raised and who’d emerged from his cocoon with damaged right wings.

Shino looked away at Kiba’s words. It’s not like he cried often anyway…He honestly hated the feeling. He was however, that he covered up well. At least it helped hide some of his expression, even though it was hard. “Don’t say that.” His voice cracked when he spoke, causing him to blink more tears from his eyes. Kiba was worth so much how could he say these things? Why had both of his boyfriends been so hard on themselves? He reached up and just wiped away the tears from his cheeks, barely holding back a sob. How could he protect the two he cared for the most if they were the one’s hurting themselves?

Kiba gave Shino a grin, attempting to be reassuring, though it was shaky and thin, his teeth bloodstained. “There are better things to save your tears for, Shino,” he said; his voice was soft because it hurt too speak above a certain volume. He blamed himself for getting injured like this - he should’ve been able to read the enemy attack before it went off. But he wouldn’t change the fact that he jumped in front of the attack for Shino on pure instinct for anything. He’d rather be lying here with a hole in his gut than have to see Shino suffer with so much as a papercut. “I should’ve seen it coming,” he raised a shaking hand to Shino’s cheek, wiping away a stray tear that he’d missed. “I’m a jonin, so it’s kinda-” his voice cut off with a wince, and he coughed a few times, blood speckled across his lips. “k-kinda dumb that I got caught by an attack like that anyway.” He tried to keep his voice enthusiastic as ever, because he didn’t want Shino to be crying, to be so worried. It hurt more than the wound he had. “Something like this can’t do me in a-anyway, it’s not like I’m going to die. So don’t worry, there’s no need to cry, yeah?” His hand dropped back to his side tiredly. “I just…need a little bit…to breathe.”

Shino opened his mouth to speak then just stopped, he knew speaking now would just cause him to breakdown and he didn’t want Kiba to see that. He couldn’t help but think of possible solutions...If only he knew medical ninjutsu. If only he saw the attack sooner. If only he was able to move towards kiba so they both avoided it....If only....if, if, if. If’s couldn’t save Kiba, and it couldn’t stop shino from worrying either. He sucked in a breath, “Y-You need help.” He practically whimpered as he fumbled to wipe his eyes once more before trying to carefully move Kiba into his arms. He felt the warmth of his boyfriends blood and..the smell. It was enough to make his stomach flip. “I’m so sorry...” he whispered as a sob escaped his lips, it was hard to try to carry someone when you’re shaking like a leaf. He’s never been so scared in his life...Yeah, Kiba said he wouldn’t die. But isn’t that what they always say before their time comes? It hurts.

“If I could help it, I would.” He mumbled, rubbing his eyes before dragging his gaze back down to his lap. This was hard. He just wanted Kankuro to feel as good as Shino saw him to be. So much so that it had been stressing him out a bit. He didn’t mean to start crying in front of Kankuro but…He seemed to just break down without really thinking twice about it. “But you don’t have to lie to me…I know something is wrong…” There had to be, at least Shino was certain there was. He wanted to help Kankuro, but it just had been hard without really knowing just what was bothering him.
