Unexpected guests at midnight.
The sparkbrothers Swerve Bomb and Smack were in the middle of recharge when several sensors went off in their ship, waking both of them rather easily. As it was the middle of the night, about midnight in human time Swerve went to the console and deactivated the alarms which would no doubt alert nearby beings of their presence.
Breathlessly sighing the bot then began to look over just what tripped he and his brother’s ship, several cybertronian signals nearby.. potential allies? or enemies? Only one way to find out.
=Hey, Smack. May be some other bots around or some cons finally found us, you ready for either?=
The dinobot growled out initially, shaking himself to free some debris from his alt mode chassis. “Bored, angry, want scrap jerks”
Another breathless sigh. =Just follow me brother= Swerve bomb told Smack before transforming into his tank alt mode, rolling out of the ship’s hanger with the dino following close behind to the last location the ship’s computer picked up the cybertronian signatures.
(Starter for @stormshift )
Stormshift trudged through the foliage, hearing the footsteps of the vehicons fall farther and farther away as she made her way through the trees. Her spark raced in her chest as her own pedes carried her forward through the trees. She could feel her ventilation systems running overtime. Her wings twitched. She was nervous. The young mint green and black femme knew she was straying farther and farther away from the group. She actually preferred to be as far from the vehicons as possible, because she knew they’d just push her around or use her as target practice when the higher ups weren’t looking. She really didn’t know what she was doing, running off while the others weren’t looking. She only knew that it was better than being shot at, and there was no going back now.
Once a good distance from their ship Swerve Bomb reverted to his robot mode, left arms moving to detach his sniper rifle from his back while his right hands signaled for Smack to stop moving.
=Brother.. i think i heard something, switch to comm channel=
The dinobot huffed, some smoke escaping his faceplate but did as told =Close already?=
=Quite possibly= Swerve answered his brother, both now motionless and on guard for any signs of movement.
Stormshift continued her trek through the forest, her keen auditory receptors picking up on a sound a few yards up ahead. She was oblivious to the fact that there were two Autobots not far from her position. The young decepticon stopped in her tracks before swiveling her helm to the direction of the sound. Her wings twitched and her optics narrowed as she tried to figure out where she was. A deer careened out of a nearby thicket, leaping into her path and causing her to gasp in alarm. She drew her blasters and fired at the deer quite by accident before she had a chance to clearly identify it. The blast barely missed the animal, singeing the hairs on its back. Stormshift’s expression changed from surprise to horror as she realized what she had just nearly done.
“Sorry!” She called after the deer, stowing away her blasters and chasing after it. The deer ran off into the woods before it lost her trail. Stormshift found herself in another little clearing of trees, too far from the other decepticons to receive immediate backup. The deer was gone, and the density of the foliage was tampering with her navigational system.
There was no mistaking the sound they heard, blaster fire. That only confirmed with Swerve that his ship’s sensors were still functioning correctly. While he thought on that however his brother let out a roar unfitting an ankylosaur before charging towards the source of the sound.
=Smack what are you doing!? Don’t just rush in!= Swerve shouted over the two’s personal channel, quick to run after his brother. While he hated to follow blindly he still wanted to protect his brother in case of a trap or ambush.
The roar was deafening to the small mint green and black femme. It was unlike anything she had ever heard before and it chilled the very energon in her fuel lines. She looked around, almost paralyzed in fear. Stormshift froze, her optics widening as she scanned the terrain. =Wh-who’s there?!= she yelped, her voice feeling strained and alien in her vocalizer.
Stormshift once again drew her blasters. She widened her stance, trying to recall every second of her training. She considered for a moment running back towards the vehicons, but if the thing that had made that sound turned out to be nothing of consequence, she knew she’d be beaten or worse. So the young femme decided against all of her better instincts and attempted to stand her ground. She aimed her tiny blasters in the direction of the sound, wishing that she’d been equipped with a better arsenal. Her blasters were hardly even like a toy compared to the equipment of the rest of the decepticon fleet.
Quite unfortunate then she alerted two autobots to her location, the ground rumbling a bit with each of Smack’s quick, heavy steps. He unknowingly ran past the spot where she fired, soon catching the smell of burning hair and following that. Unfortunate for the dinobot himself though was that his own alt mode is rather large, making him unable to hide properly.
Swerve bomb only continued to follow his sparkbrother and the trail of pedprints he was leaving behind him. ‘Hopefully whoever Smack finds can hold their own so i can calm him down’ he thought to himself.
As the irate ankylosaur dinobot thundered towards her, Stormshift let out a terrified yelp. The dinobot was at least three times her size, and with how his steps shook the ground, she almost lost her balance. The small femme caught herself and straightened out her posture. She scanned the area around her and realized to her dismay that there was no room for takeoff and the trees were too close together for her to fly out of the forest. She then looked to the trees and tilted her helm. If she was high enough and the two Autobots who passed her location were grounders, she realized that she’d have a better chance at survival if she gained higher ground. And so Stormshift dashed towards the sturdiest looking tree and stowed away her blasters, using her claws to shimmy up the bark like a 14ft tall metal cat, causing the tree to bend under her weight as she reached the top.
Creaking wood, another sound the dinobot followed more curious about that now then the source of then finding the owner of the blaster however he failed to slow himself down and coincidentally ran himself head first into the large tree, leaving an indent in the trunk.
Watching a few yards away, Swerve bomb merely shook his helm as he stood there before looking slowly upwards to scan the tree over with his single optic through the scope of his rifle.
