It was the lazy afternoon before one of Jove's big parties. They were fun, but Mercer didn't often have patience for big get togethers, especially those with certain greenhaired douchebags. His lungs burned as he finished his hundreth lap around the neighborhood, as was his daily custom. When he came to a stop, bending over as he took in sharp, deep breaths Haydn walked by the darkskinned runner in his usual state of daze and malaise. Mercer stood back up and took in a final deep breath.
"Hey! Haydn! what's up? You going to Jove's Party today?" Mercer reached out with his hand and touched Hadyn's shoulder. The pale male's skin was soft, and so very cold. Mercer enjoyed it, it was calming but Haydn pulled away and turned around, the warm touch having startled him out of his thought.
"Oh, Mercer... Hey uhh, I don't know if I'm going. Isn't Terry going to be there? I'm not sure i want to intrude?" He said as he touched the warm spot where mercer's hand had been. Mercer made and ugly, bothered face.
"Really? You're still listening to that douche?" Mercer picked his ear and wiped a bit of sweat off his forehead. "I don't know why. He is literally the only one who thinks you aren't a planet you dork."
"Yeah, w-well, he's so right about so many other things. Maybe, he's right about this too?" Mercer walked up to Haydn and put his arm around his arm around the pale shoulder of the other male. The heat both comforted and unsettled him. Confusion coursed through his brain before Mercer started to talk again.
"He's just a big dumb nosy douche. Remember when he used to think the universe revolved around him?" Mercer laughed a bit, but Haydn stayed silent. "I'm sure he'll realize that just because you like to room with Fanny and Tina doesn't make you not one of us. I mean, i just live in mama sun's guesthouse."
"Well, i'm not going to the party. You go ahead mercer, tell me how it is." Haydn said as he tried to pull away from Mercer's strong, dark warm arms. He could not, however.
"Ahhhh, come on you dork. I won't have anyone to talk to if you don't go. Mama is busy today, and everyone's still sore about me winning that last race we had. So come on, lets go together and have a good time laughing at their giant asses." Mercer turned around and looked Haydn in his pale violet eyes. Instantly Haydn looked away and blushed.
"Let go, you're so warm..." Haydn tried to fight away, unsure if he was really trying or not.
"I know you like the warm Haydn, you're just trying to get away because you feel embarassed or whatever like a dork. You wanna know why i think you're a planet? Because you're special. You get to see more stars than anyone else, aside form earth because he's a giant nerd, but you get my point." Mercer pulled Haydn closer despite his protests.
"But it gets lonely..." Haydn said, still struggling against The fire like touch of Mercer's embrace
"Then come visit us more often. If you don't stop all this dorky self doubt stuff i A going to kiss you. I want you to say: "I'm Haydn and I'm a planet and i am proud." Haydn's face turned bright pink and burned unmercifully.
"I, I can't say that..." He said as he turned away. Mercer pulled Haydn's his face back to look at him and smirked
"Then Pucker up motherfucker because i'm going in." Mercer pressed his lips onto Haydn's and the albino practically gasped in shock. Venella saw this through her window and shut the blinds giggling silently behind the glass. Mercer parted lips with Haydn and took a breath. "Wasn't that bad, was it?" Haydn's eyes were frozen open in surprise but eventually he came to.
"Why, do you think i'm so special?" He asked, trying harder than before to get out of Mercer's grasp.
"well, because if we were to switch situations, we'd be in the same place. You'd be the planet nearst mom, and that douche earth would be calling me not a planet."
"Yeah, so?" Haydn asked, not quite getting what the darkskinned male was getting at. Mercer looked hurt, and finally let go.
"You know what, its okay. Its probably going to be a lame party anyways, i'll see you around Haydn." he turned around and ran off, his face burning in embarassment. Hadyn reached out with his hand, realising too late he'd hurt Mercer's feelings.
"I'm sorry..." he said quietly as he stood there, staring at the floor, tears welling in his eyes.
