I have so many headcanons that haunt my consciousness at any given moment. So here's some of my favorites.
-Francis has a penchant for calling James' silly ridiculous nicknames like: Stars and stripes, Stud muffin, Jameathy, Dickhead, honey bear, Asshole, Huntsman, Bright eyes,and my favorite Jamie.
-Rarely does he call his boyfriend's actual god given name. Like only when he's genuinely worried or absolutely done with James' bullshit.
*James running headfirst into danger and Hawkeye saving his ass*
Cue their conversation after:
Hawkeye(with his arms crossed glowering): James, you fucking twat at least tell someone your plan before running in guns blazing.
James(visibly sweating): Sorry....I love you, babe.
Hawkeye: Hmph... I love you too.
-James being absolutely the most overprotective/jealous boyfriend you can imagine. Like my mans won't act on his urges but if someones openly flirting with Frank he's setting them on fire in his mind.
As long as that person doesn't push any major boundaries James won't interfere. On the other hand if he gets called you better be running.
-They have a lot of trust in each other's physical capabilities on the battlefield. James does some crazy shit Franks right there behind him and vice versa.
Sure at the end of it they scream, yell, dogfight, call each other fucking idiots but at the end of the day they always regroup after cooling off and talk.
-They're known for being that pda couple- both are unapologetic about it much to literally everyone's dismay. These losers are absolutely shameless with each other like I'm talking graphic make-out sessions in the communal lounging area, Quinjet, Kitchen, Closet, BEDROOMS THAT AREN'T THEIR FUCKING OWN!
-Tony's made a list of places that James and Frank are banned from even entering. they're holding crosses and baring the doors if these two fools take another step closer.
-Hawkeye's the little spoon. I don't make the rules.
-James takes the reins in their relationship and Francis willingly lets him. Like my mans has literally a whole colony of people depending on him for food, shelter, resources, medicine, so on and so forth. He just needs a break.
-James remembers anniversaries, dates, birthdays, you name it he knows it. meanwhile Hawkeye can't remember what time it is or what he ate for breakfast that day.
-I think despite Frank's jagged exterior he becomes best buddies with Pym and the chaos that follows is devastating.
-The family had running bets on when James would ask out Hawkeye needless to say Torrun won.
