An Unfortunate Update

Hey folks, it's with a heavy heart that I have to announce a permanent closing of the blog.

If you would like to hear more you can click the 'keep reading', but the TL;DR is that I got in over my head and lacked the foresight to close the blog sooner for my sake and the sake of those following. I apologize for promises of returning that fell flat, but thank you guys very much for sticking with me for the ride ❤

I tried to hype myself up at the end of my school term to get back to the blog with my big plans and attempt at motivation, but unfortunately I have to accept the fact that I can't keep doing that as it just is not going to work. It is better if I don't keep digging myself a deeper hole with this blog and don't hold up my followers here anymore, as well as better for my mental health.

I am keeping the blog up and won't be deleting any of the posts, so it isn't going anywhere. I do this just to keep a lil momento of the stuff I did here since it does mean a lot to me! But if there are a few people who want to come back to it occasionally then it will be here to do so.

I apologize for all the long waits, hiatuses, and several broken promises of revival and regular posting. Thank you all who enjoyed it and had fun, it means a lot that people were interested and liked what I was doing! Genuinely, I never expected the interaction it got so it means a lot to me.

Howdy folks! I was planning to have the newest post up today or tomorrow, but my tablet crashed while working on the post and I lost the file. I'm restarting the art for it and will hopefully have it out by Thursday! Sorry for the delay!

The new post has been delayed longer than planned, but im hoping it will be done and up soon. The file for the up coming post has been eaten by my tablet sadly, which means it will be coming on Thursday instead. The Sanders House slowly returns!

Hello hello! After months of hiatus due to classes I am slowly making a return! This comes with some changes, so please click below for all the info on those! They will all be added to the about page + the about post as well later this evening. I hope these updates will be ok, tysm for reading and for sticking around! 💙 :-)

Update 1: the Schedule, Posting, and Art Quality

I learned many a thing from running this blog for the short time I have (in active periods that is), which is my brain/mental health does not cooperate very well with me and the blog in terms of schedules. The posting I was doing before was becoming stressful because I have a tendency to rush myself to not keep people waiting. In an effort to not force myself into another long hiatus I'm going to take more time with posts.

This is to not only reduce my stress but also hopefully put more quality into the art on the blog! I rushed myself a lot before when making the art for my posts, so I want to slow down and not rush so much this time around. This means posting may not be every single day, or even every 2 days. I am going to try being schedule free for now and post on my own terms. This doesn't mean weeks between posts, I just may be posting once or twice a week instead. I apologize for less posts per week, but I do want to try not to kill the blog as best I can :")

If having no set schedule is not a good solution after trying it out, I will work on a schedule to get on track again and find one that best fits me. Of course if this is the case you'll get another update.

This will also keep my motivation for the blog up in general, which segues us into new thing 2-

Update 2: Weak Motivation and ADHD Strangling my Brain

I hyperfixate a lot bc of my adhd, and for quite a while my main fixation has been multiple things that are not Sanders. Which was making me worry about wether or not I'd actually be able to return/continue the blog. But I don't want that to happen! The fact this blog lasted a week is a miracle and an achievement for me jhfkhf

The solution is not going to effect this blog! However, for those who follow my art blog this means the content over there will focus on those things instead and I will likely keep TSS content to this one! I'm not making a post over there since this kind of update is really only suited for this blog, so I want to mention it here in case.

This does mean however that if I have behind the scenes sketches I want to post, I will be posting them here! I posted the sketches for a few panels from this blog on my art blog in the past, but as a lil something extra for you guys over here I want to post those here from now on.

Update 3: Not rlly an Update, but When are Asks Open Again?

I am going to take a few days to settle back into my normal art process before opening up the box to character Qs. I need to find my groove again before hoping back into making posts, especially since I still need to get the groove for all of my non ask blog related stuff as well. I haven't been able to make tons of other content for my main accounts/personal stuff either so the next few days I am going to settle and get back into my art rhythm!

This is exactly why this is a kind of slow return, but I assure you I will be open again soon. I will make a post to let you all know when the ask box opens to character questions again, so check the pinned post within the next few days if you miss it! This will be pinned until then, but I will switch it out once I'm open for business!

Update 4: Doodle Days? Mini Events??

Every so often I thought it would be nice to do some sort of quick ask and/or doodle days. Basically the idea is while I'm working on the regular asks I could occasionally open a small event for a few hours where people can ask all of the characters stuff. They would be in the form of either quick lil doodles or just text. Most likely will be doodles tbh.

Its just a lil one shot type thing to interact with while I'm working on the regular stuff! This is also a way to ask for any of the characters without waiting until its their turn in the spotlight. This won't be all the time, again I don't wanna over work especially if I have other projects going on besides asks. But I think every so often doing something like this would be fun!

A Little Check-in

Howdy folks it's Foster! It's been a hot minuet so I thought I'd check in with ya. I am currently in the middle of my second semester, the work load is quite heavy which is why it's been so long since I posted. The closest I can give for a return date is mid to late April, but it will depend on exam days and other various things. I apologize for the even longer wait, but I am hoping to return sometime in April!

I have been sketching occasionally and posting to my art blog/Instagram bc I be hyperfixating and needing happy chemicals/practise, but that's about it for content latley. For now that is the content I will continue to make since its all I can manage, so you're free to check that out if you want to keep up with that, baring in mind I post non-TSS stuff there for the most part.

@tsfosterparentau What it says on the tin!! Thomas makes the brave decision to foster seven whole kids, and boy do a lot of things happen

Oh, those are great!! I love them a ton. Here are some of my favorite ask blogs, and some I’ve seen floating around! Some of them are new and some are older, but all deserve some interaction. Even the ones on hiatus! Of which there are many, because motivation is like that sometimes. (Blogs, I hope you don’t mind the tag!)

@like-a-puzzle​ an adorable AU where logan accidentally adopts several small children, and with Remy and Emile, has to figure out how to handle them. The art is so cute!

@teamrnbo​ a RWBY AU! I’ve never seen the og show, but this AU is beautifully drawn and very intriguing! Virgil, Logan, Patton, and Roman are a team with some bad history.

@askthesandershouse​ a cute human AU! I love the interactions and the art. Remy’s crushing on a customer, Logan and Virgil are dating, and Janus and Virgil have an old grudge.

@mindgodau​ The Sides are gods assigned to Thomas in order to learn the value of humanity. Haven’t finished reading this one, but from what I’ve seen it’s a fun premise with some really cute designs!

@ask-fantasy-sanders-sides​ After finding Virgil, Patton and his friends team up with him to complete their quest. But manipulation and deception run rampant, the past is being unearthed, and two people really want Virgil back. I really need to catch up on this one, from what I remember the plot is great and the art is incredible!

@ask-bettasides​ Remus is a minx who lives alone in Thomas’ apartment. This art is so cute! and Remus’ design is adorable! I highly recommend it.

@ask-witchy-sides​ just got started with the story, but I love the art style! Virgil collapses and is nursed back to health by Patton, but both Virgil’s magic and circumstances lead to questions.

@animalguides-au​ officially on hiatus, but worth a scroll through just for the adorable designs! All the sides are animal hybrids, but Virgil refuses to share what he is–until things go very wrong.

@tscampfireau​ I’ve only seen snippets of this AU, but it looks absolutely incredible and adorable. No real plot, just the six of them hanging out and causing chaos!

@loganhasnopowersau​ superheroes are my jam, and this delivers! Logan has no superpowers, Roman is proud of his, and Virgil is tired of getting kidnapped.

@askalonelogan​ simple premise, lovely execution! Logan wakes up alone in the Mindscape and has to figure out why.

@quarantinesides​ that was a…chaotic AU. Just quarantine shenanigans as the Sides slowly deteriorate while stuck inside.

@dreamcatcher-au​ beautiful art and writing, and a fun supernatural premise! Virgil and Roman are convinced supernatural creatures exist, Logan isn’t sure, and Patton is worried they’ll catch him.

@ask-badlydrawnroman​ this AU is still running! And it’s a lovely chaotic time. No plot, just fun magic anons and chaotic shenanigans.

@patton-sanders-killed-a-man​ The title says it all. Patton did a murder, Logan and Dee are on the case, and everyone’s not who they say they are. If you’re up for some gory, morally-grey fun, this AU is spot-on.

@sanders-sides-foster-au​ Virgil gets adopted into a new chaotic foster family. So far, very sweet and well-written! 

@sky-high-au​ I love the art and comic style of this! Plus, again, superheroes.

@ask-vigilante-virgil​ Another superhero AU, this one with some lovely costume designs.

@askguardianausanderssides​ One of the first AUs I ever fell in love with, cool concept and lovely art!

@ts-unsolved​ I literally got a Tumblr account so I could follow this AU. No exaggeration. The art is incredible, the storyline is amazing, and I can say for certain it got me into BFU and ghost stories in general. Please read it.
