Hi everyone! Thanks for the asks in my inbox. Sorry I haven’t been around! I’m dealing with a lot lately in terms of emotional and physical health issues and I’m really just taking it a day at a time. I’ve also fallen down the dragon age rabbit hole in the process of trying to cope.

This blog is not closed at all! i hope to have some more content for you soon! But as always, it’s just a fun hobby for me so I’m not worried about prioritizing it over my health.

So where's Bowser in all of this? Is he not happy about the truce or has he calmed down?

Morton: He’s still pouting, but he’ll get bored of that eventually. Don’t worry about it.

ludwig, how do you balance work and your family life?

“I’m kind of a workaholic, according to...well, everyone, I guess. I’ve been trying to find a better balance since I started seeing Anita, but having a baby adds a whole new challenge to things. 

It’s leaving me pretty tired a lot of the time, but I’ll get it down. I have to.”

sorry I haven’t been around, folks! I was in a rough home situation for a while, my dad went to rehab(he is fighting alcoholism) and my mom and I lived with my aunt while he was gone. We just returned hom a couple of weeks ago, and dad is in sort of a halfway house sort of deal to continue treatment, but is in town now.

since I’m back home, I’m under less stress and have more time to myself again since I’m not sharing space as much. I’ll try and get back on track here! The askbox is empty, so feel free to send in questions.

is sebastian starting to talk yet? what was his first word?

Ludwig: ...yes, he’s talking a little.

so ludwig's married? what's his wife like?

Ludwig: My wife Anita, and our son Sebastian, who is almost eighteen months.

Anita’s a seamstress, I met her when she worked as my tailor for a time. Er...this is embarrassing, but I moved to another tailor just so I could ask her to dinner without there being so much pressure on her.

Anita: Honey, it was cute, please don’t feel bad. I was glad you didn’t want me to feel pushed into it.

Ludwig: Right. Well, anyway, as you can see she’s beautiful. I mean, uh, she’s also very sweet. Too patient for me to deserve it, really. I don’t know how she puts up with me sometimes. But she’s been a wonderful addition to our family and...to my life. As it is.

Anita: He’s not very good at being openly affectionate. I hope you’ll forgive him. He’s very gentle in private, I promise.

So like here's an obvious question: how'd the two kingdoms come to the decision of a truce? Who first got the idea and how long did it take for both rulers to agree to it?

Lemmy: This was like five years ago now. But yeah, Ludwig had just proposed to his girlfriend and was starting to plan the wedding with her, Wendy was just plain done with King Dad’s harebrained schemes and getting beat up by the Mario Brothers.

The rest of us backed them up. I didn’t want Ludwig’s wedding plans ruined because honestly, I’d never seen him happier than he is with his wife, and we were all feeling that way- as well as just being plain exhausted of always having to fight and lose and fight and lose. 

I think Junior backing us up was what really convinced King Dad though. We’d all tried to refuse before, but Junior usually went ahead with the plans and that would keep King Dad on track. With even him finally saying “enough is enough,” I think that got it through his thick skull.

It took a few more months of negotiations and stuff, but by the time Ludwig’s wedding rolled around the next year the truce was fully settled. Things have been a lot more peaceful since then, though King Dad still ends up bored as hell and that can lead to...well, explosions. But it’s better than the alternative of getting our asses handed to us.

junior, do you get along with your siblings? who do you get along with most?

Junior: Honestly I get along with all my brothers and sisters real well, though I guess that might surprise some people considering my dad shows such blatant favoritism. In any other family that would probably cause a rift.

But they’ve never blamed me for his bad parenting, and I’ve always really appreciated that. I’d have been all alone all the time if they hadn’t decided to be nice to me instead of picking on me. I’m way more well adjusted than I could have ended up.

...Still, Ludwig’s the oldest. Honestly, I think he’s way better as a parental figure than my dad. I can come to him with anything and he’ll talk to me fairly and honestly, even if it means telling me I’m being an idiot. Dad just hands me an easy solution so I’ll be out his hair. Ludwig wants me to actually grow, you know?

Maybe that sincerity is how he managed to snag such a sweet girl as his wife, haha.
