remi stood there with his hands in his pockets as he had to think about what she just said to him. âplease tell me you didnât buy a goat already and this is your way of telling me that???âÂ
âNo, pft, no,â Although there were plenty of times that she had been at a petting zoo and wanted to pick up one of the baby goats to bring home, âI just need some warmth in my life, you know? Fireplaces and Halloween decorations with fall candles and apple cider sounds like itâll help.â
âBut this couch is so comfy.â He groaned, hiding his face in one of her throw pillows. âBesides,â Flint said, turning his head again to speak, âHalloween is so overhyped⊠Fuck, holidays are so overhyped. At least a goat will bring you lasting happiness.â
âHalloween is the only holiday that approves of being miserable, therefore, you should love it.â She tossed a nearby cat toy at him, âCome on, you need to get out and do something just as much as I do.âÂ
âI forgot Halloween is coming up and I love the holiday so much. Whatâs wrong with me,â she made a face as she thought for a moment, looking over at the brunette. âI felt that when I turned thirty. I basically bought two pairs of Louboutinâs in hopes that it would make me feel better. Ended up getting a car. I wish someone stopped me ahead of time.â
âO â oh, yeah I donât even really like heels. I canât walk in them at all, itâs like putting socks on a cat.â She laughed, running her hand through her hair, âMore so Iâm gonna end up doing the first thing that comes to mind that I shouldnât do, and with the season coming up for petting zoos I know Iâm going to want to scoop up one of those baby goats to get out this feeling like I need to care for something other than myself. Maybe Iâll get a fish.âÂ
Leo pursed her lips, doing her best not to laughâat herself, not at Aspen. She had just turned 26 and sheâd had a hard time with it. âI always thought the pumpkin carving was the most important part,â she confessed. âWay better than decorations. I used to cry any time my mom would try to toss them out after Halloween. I totally dig decoration shopping though. Dâyou get any trick-or-treaters?â
âI am literally the worst pumpkin carver, so, weâre are not the same. Every year, my brothers and sisters would do these awesome ones that my mom put candles in up front, and you could always tell which one was mine.â A frown, before she nodded, âYeah, we live in a townhouse sort of thing so we get them, but Olive usually buys the candy.âÂ
âYou⊠are aware youâre speaking to a thirty-three year old man, right? Iâve passed that hump. So, does this mean youâre calling me old?â He questioned with a cock of his head. âI probably should get some stuff, anyways. Surprise Penny with it and all that.â
Her lips tightened in a line, giving him a sympathetic look, âBut it was a hump, right? So have some sympathy. Men age better than women, I know it, I work in TV.â She half joked, before shaking her head, âYouâre just ripe, you know.â A shrug of her shoulders before she laughed, âYeah you can find some lights to put all over, maybe a costume for her too.âÂ
âHalloween stores are easily my favorite thing about this time of year. Even if I donât actually buy shit and instead just lament about how I canât throw a huge raging party anymore. Is it considered gaudy to cover every inch of your apartment in pumpkins orâŠ?â Asher wrinkled his nose. âI get the goat thing. Goats are cute as shit, I say go for it.â
âSometimes Iâll sit on Youtube and watch videos of people going to like â the um, really giant ones?â One arm crossed over the other, âI get into them for hours and then itâs a huge trap. This year, I want sparkly skulls when I usually go really gorey and terrifying so Iâm not judging you at all.â She feigned an annoyed look, âYou are supposed to talk me out of a goat. My roommate would have an absolute heart attack if she came home to one eating our couch or leftover soda cans.â
âââI literally donât even need convincing,â Mase laughed. âIâve been wanting to decorate the apartment since the first of the month. The only thing thatâs stopping me is work, but Iâm dedicated to this shit. ââBuy the goat. I swear youâll thank me later.â
âI think Halloween decorating is so much more fun than Christmas, but that gets me in trouble all the time.â She gave a small smile before nodding her head, âNow youâre just being a bad influence. Letâs go to the Halloween store and see if they have any fake goats maybe with black eyes.âÂ

TW: MISCARRIAGE, CHILD LOSS
sheâs one of the writers on the show STRANGER THINGS, she has been in the industry since she graduated at 22, but this is her first âbigâ gigÂ
she has seven siblings! which i definitely want connections for. her parents were gone a lot because of work, but all of the kids were super close in age and took care of each other
when she was sixteen, she got pregnant. it was the most terrifying thing of her life, but she eventually came to terms with it. until she was being told by a doctor that she had no life in her. this threw aspen into a state of depression for a long time, but her siblings were the one to pull her out. she doesnât talk about it now.Â
she moved to new york when she went to college, attending NYUÂ
aspen is crappy at social interaction, but she tries. due to her siblings being her only real friends throughout childhood until she completely moved out of state, it shook her up for a long while. sheâs adjusted more so now, less shy and more keen to talk to people she doesnât know. she says things that are probably not right for the situation, sheâs awkward, but kinda in the best way.
is the Wine Auntâąïž
she is really good at being domestic since she had to take the turns cooking and cleaning back at home. now she kind of enjoys to make a good meal half drunkÂ
@darlingoliveâs roomieÂ
has a dream journal for ideas with writingÂ
romcom obsessedÂ
WANTED CONNECTIONS

people she went to nyu withÂ
a maybe 2/3 year long relationship that went really southÂ
unrequitedÂ
someone who canât stand her but she still bothers them
âThis is the best time to go to a Halloween store,â Aspen told them, âPlease just come with me to buy my decorations so I can forget about the fact that Iâm about to turn thirty in a month, because I swear Iâm going to impulsively buy a goat.âÂ
âIâll be 27 on Sunday and I just got this beautiful bouquet of flowers and a NYU plushie bear delivered to me at work. I wonder who sent them,â said Hodaya, âWhoever sent them to me, I appreciate it.âÂ
River was mashing up a banana for Luna to eat while they waited on his mom to come pick her up so he could go to work. He had ordered coffee for himself and two bananas for their breakfast. Luna was sitting in a high chair, playing with a set of toy keys and babbling away incoherently at him as he worked.  âAre you hungry?â he asked, motioning to the bowl that the banana was in and she answered by babbling faster and banging the keys on the table.  âLetâs get you fed before grandma gets here,â he laughed, picking her spoon up and gathering some of the fruit onto it. She took a couple of bites and grinned a big, toothy grin at him that made him smile back at her. A couple more bites in, her eyes were locked over his shoulder and he followed her gaze to someone behind him.  âSorry, she doesnât realize that staringâs rude yet. Weâre working on it,â he said, using her bib to wipe her mouth and he let her have her sippy cup to get some milk.  âShe seems really interested in you, though. She hasnât paid that much attention to me in weeks,â he laughed.
âI like to believe that Iâm a really nice personâŠâ She mused, looking down at her counter as she focused on dicing her onions before swiftly swiping them into the pot. âBut Iâm beginning to believe that youâd only come and badger me because I can cook you a nice meal.â Riku glanced up, giving her visitor a teasing smirk as she reached over to the side to grab a tomato to continue her dicing.
âAnd the wine, you always have really good wine,â Aspen lifted her glass with a grin on her face, before she folded one leg under herself, âplus, your company isnât so bad â complaining about my work day and stuff is almost therapy, the other stuff is really a bonus. Isnât that what a friend is though?â Her grin widened, âI love to cook, so I can gladly take over.â Â
Teddy smirked and gladly took the beer from her. A sense of relief fell over him knowing he didnât have to drink wine after all. âA goddess for sure. No question thereâ he said, leaning towards her slightly. âYouâve got the beauty of one for sureâ he then shrugged, âwhatever you are, youâre gorgeous and I just canât get enough of youâ he said, the same playful smirk coming to his lips. âSo much that I am sticking around this boring ass party just to see youâ he said.
Teddy was obviously charming -- not only to other people but himself. He had to know that he could get any girl he wanted, and she wasnât exactly sure why he kept trying for Ava who was always brushing him off or being an absolute tease. Tonight, wine was on his side along with her need to be looked at. âYou canât get enough of me,â she repeated with a smile, shaking her head slightly, âI think youâre just talking sweet, Teddy Bear.â
