I have done my best not to add to the massive amount of political horsefuckery that's been posted on social media, but I came across an article on flipboard that just pissed me the hell off. The article to which I am referring brings to light the fact that the following post was made on Trump's official website: "FAKE NEWS STATION REFUSES TO RUN AD HIGHLIGHTING THE PRESIDENT’S FIRST 100 DAYS" I realize that the post in question was not regurgitated from the infantile mind of our current tiny hand having, quite possibly illiterate head of state, but by somebody that he's clearly authorized to act on his behalf. It is no secret that the White House has been engaged in an ongoing feud with various news outlets and...well, anybody who publicly disagrees with him. It begins by painting Trump and his ilk as victims of CNN's alleged "war on facts": "Today, Donald J. Trump for President, Inc was stopped by the mainstream media from running a new television ad on CNN. The new television ad entitled “First 100 Days" highlights the President's first 100 days in office; exhibiting clear vision, resolute leadership, and an uncompromising dedication to the American people, just as he promised throughout his campaign." Ok.... First things first: HE HASN'T FUCKING DONE ANY OF THE SHIT LISTED ABOVE!!! Now that that is out of the way, I feel I must elaborate: Regarding the mention of his exhibition of "clear vision", I find this laughable. If their definition of the word "vision" is the possession of any sort of foresight, they are just dead wrong; he himself has stated that being president of a country was more difficult than he thought it would be, a statement that clearly showcases his lack of foresight. As for his "resolute leadership", I still don't see it. A good leader doesn't take to twitter to voice his disdain for everything sensible in rambling, barely coherent rants of 140 characters or less. Regarding his "uncompromising dedication to the American people", I just...I can't even put into words the absurdity of this claim. It goes on to state: "The campaign is continuing President Trump's approach of reaching out to the American people by directly highlighting his work over the first 100 days with this ad as well as fighting back against the continued media bias. 'It is absolutely shameful to see the media blocking the positive message that President Trump is trying to share with the country. It's clear that CNN is trying to silence our voice and censor our free speech because it doesn't fit their narrative,' said Michael Glassner, Executive Director. CNN takes issue with the ad’s message calling out the mainstream media for peddling fake news and not reporting on the fact that President Trump is making America great again." Instead of accusing reputable news outlets of bias for refusing to air what is essentially propaganda, he should probably focus on the following: Extinguishing some of those bridges he's already begun to burn with America's allies, as we will need them should he decide to push our military into another war. Not trampling on the rights of Americans who are not affluent white Christians under the guise of "national security". Not using illegal immigrants and those of the Islamic faith as scapegoats for his unfortunate revival of McCarthyism. Maybe taking a bit of a hiatus from twitter. Appointing competent individuals to head the government's various departments and agencies. Yeah, I realize that I've gone off topic; such is the nature of Adhd. My point is that, as CNN is a privately owned business, they have the right to refuse service to anybody (yes, even to the president) for any reason they choose.
