A slight smile flashed across Mahia’s lips as she heard his words. She nodded in response and lifted her arms to motion at their expansive surroundings.

           ”Which way shall we go first? There is much to see in every direction, I am sure…”“

Axel stood quietly for a short moment, placing a hand on his hip and turning his head around in each direction, taking in the sights, the sounds, the feelings...

"We should go this way, to the left. I'm sure of it," the redhead said with a strange sense of confidence.

Gloved digits gripped the other’s arms in an attempt to steady herself, and a light giggle escaped her lips as blood rose to her cheeks. "Sorry. I’m just really excited!"

She resumed her spot seated on the edge of the clock tower, but she had barely sat down before the news found it’s way out of her. "I learned a new magic spell today!"

Axel grinned wide. "A new magic spell? That's amazing, Xion! So tell me, what is it? Fire, right? Can't get any better than fire," he said teasingly. He was so proud of her. She'd put forth so much work since joining the Organization, yet no one seemed to care. Except himself and Roxas. They cared about her, they knew what she was capable of.

"So why don't you show me?" Number Eight said with a playful smirk.

When Axel arrives on top of the twilight town tower, Xion jumps from her seat on the edge and nearly falls off in excitement.

"Axel! Guess what I did today!"

When Axel turned the corner on top of the clock tower, his eyes widened. "Whoa! Be careful there, Xion!" Did he always have to remind his friends to be cautious? They were so young, yet so fragile.

Placing his arms on her shoulders to keep her calm, he looked down at her and gave a warm smile. "Now, what is it that you did today? Let's sit down and you can tell me all about it."

         ”O-oh, um… thank you. I admit, I have not been complimented in a long while.” she said, her voice dropping slightly. Her lips quickly lifted into a gentle smile once again.

           ”Exploring? Yes, I would be happy to join you. I was going to search this area myself, though, it would be better to have someone with me.”

Axel perked up when he heard he wasn't going to have to do this dull mission all on his own. "Well, that's good. Pretty sure the guy who sent me to check out this place is a sadist. I hate doing boring work."

"Shall we then?" he asked, holding up his arms in a shrug.

Roxas turned his head, giving a warm smile to his comrade, “Thank you Axel, you’re a good friend.”

"Ehh. I don't know about all that now," he said in an attempt to be modest. His half-smile was giving away his real feelings, though. It made him happy to know that Roxas considered him a friend... and a good one at that. "You deserve to be comfortable here, Rox."

  Mahia wasn’t sure she liked the sound of that. Still, a smile spread across her face as she straightened from the bow.  No need to draw unnecessary to herself… better to be honest.             “I fear I would not be the best person to ask about such things. I have hardly been in this area long enough to see very much.”

      “I apologize for not being of much help.”

"You apologize too much," Axel said with a crooked grin. "You're a pretty girl, you should be more confident."

"But, no worries. We could explore this place together, if you'd like. I've gotta kill some time today, can't come back too early or the boss will get mad. Whaddaya say?"

"I dunno what caused it, it just came over me." he said taking the blanket, wrapping it around himself, still looking out the window.

Axel felt uneasiness in the pit of his stomach. "Roxas... just take it easy okay? If I can do anything for you, lemme know."

   ”Recon? I am not familiar with that word…”

      “Oh! Of course, please forgive me!” she exclaimed rather hastily, dropping into a slight bow of greeting. “My name is Mahia. It is very nice to meet you, Axel.”

"You know, recon. Like... I got sent here, wherever this is anyway..." he muttered the last part before continuing on, "to check out the area for interesting items, sights, or creatures."

"No need to apologize, I was only kidding. Nice to meet you too, Mahia. Mind telling me a little bit about this place, hmm?"
