Hiii, just saw your post about reading Master and Margarita, and honestly that was a huge problem for me too. Like, I get that Bulgakov wanted to punish and satirize people that annoyed him in real life, but come onnn
On another note, the movie adaptation was a blast to watch as it is much more focused. So maybe give it a try? The actor for Voland really smashes it and his dynamic with Master is amazing. Just love it and would like to talk about it
The movie plays fast and loose with the book, mixing it up with Bulgakov's biography and some other stuff, so its a very different beast to the book. I think you might be able to find it online with eng subtitles? Got recommended an announcement that it is comming out with subtitles in US, so idk
Hi! Thanks for the recc. I'll definitely check out the movie. I'm a little bit further in the book right now where a hurricane hit the place where Jesus got sentenced (I think it was Jesus at least) in the beginning.
My main problem with the book is there doesn't really seem to be a plot at least for the middle of the book. There may be something developing now but the last 250 pages have been a slog to get through. Woland is interesting but I know nothing of his goals. Bro's just doing some magical stuff with his large cat and a jester.
