On another note, the movie adaptation was a blast to watch as it is much more focused. So maybe give it a try? The actor for Voland really smashes it and his dynamic with Master is amazing. Just love it and would like to talk about it

The movie plays fast and loose with the book, mixing it up with Bulgakov's biography and some other stuff, so its a very different beast to the book. I think you might be able to find it online with eng subtitles? Got recommended an announcement that it is comming out with subtitles in US, so idk

My main problem with the book is there doesn't really seem to be a plot at least for the middle of the book. There may be something developing now but the last 250 pages have been a slog to get through. Woland is interesting but I know nothing of his goals. Bro's just doing some magical stuff with his large cat and a jester.

When I was in college, I took a class called environmental ethics and we read a lot about the implications of capitalism in a world with finite resources.

This one guy argued that capitalism will innovate ways to solve the problems it creates. At the time, I thought it was a decent argument. However, in the years since then I have seen how wrong that dude was and continues to be.

The corporations will lie so much just to keep things as they are. At some point, development of new technology becomes more expensive than lying to the public and we are currently beyond that point.

After the US Belgium game in the World Cup, I’m scrolling lots on instagram and it’s soooo disheartening to see multiple people say “corruption feels good when it’s for you.” Like YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. You’re saying you would be corrupt if you got the opportunity. It’s very frustrating and I’m glad Belgium stomped the US Men’s team.

I just remembered something that happened while reading Queen of Shadows so spoilers for the ending of that book. But when King Havilliard is freed from the control of the demon inside, he goes “my boy,” and I laughed out loud cause it sounded so much like Dutch at the end of rdr2 in my head. I was also suspicious that he wasn’t actually freed from the control because of my immediate comparison to Dutch.

As I continue on my gender gourney, I’m looking at things like the dysphoria bible which was incredibly interesting to read. I definitely related to some of it. I’m going to continue looking at things and maybe looking into making an appointment for something soon.

I wonder if it's a coincidence that the days I feel most like a man are generally the ones when I'm feeling tired and low-energy. The weird thing is that it's not I feel like a man today so this sucks. It's more I'm having an off-day and I also happen to feel like a man on this day.

To add more context: on the days that I'm happiest I tend to feel more like a girl. Very strange. Maybe I'm genderfluid or something.

I’m disappointed in the Master and Margarita so far. I loved the first few chapters cause I found the devil very interesting and wanted to talk to him more. But instead, I’m just getting tossed around to different characters who I have no idea if they’re relevant or not and just watching how the devil messes with them.

I need an overarching plot line or goal to stay interested in a story, and I’m not even sure the people being terrorized by the devil are gonna do anything about it.

I’m like 120 pages in so I hope it gets better but we’ll see.

I went to a Pride Festival thing in my city and it was so much fun! It was great to see so many people just celebrating themselves. I was surprised to see so many churches there and a couple synagogues too.

But I found the cutest moth with non-binary wings and the body is drawn so cutely I love it so much. I need to find a discrete place to put it.
