This is the blog's namesake, Aster Proxima- my Transformers self-insert OC.
While this blog's main purpose is to archive all my TF OC content and allow me to further interact with the Transformers fandom, I will also try to roleplay!
As for me- my main blog is @headphones-lifeform, I use any pronouns, and I would prefer SFW interactions.
In-character interactions will be in a different font, like so.
I couldn't find an ask meme made specifically for Cybertronian OCs, so I decided to throw something together myself!
As a warning, this is very much IDW-inspired. Don't forget to specify which OC you're asking for, and practice good reblog karma! :3
~
1. What is your OC's full name, if they have one? (as in Rodimus of Nyon, Getaway of the Corcapsia Incursion etc.)
2. Was your OC forged or constructed cold?
3. What's the earliest significant story event they can remember/were involved in?
4. Does your OC have an amica endura? If not, is there someone they'd like to be their amica?
5. Ditto conjunx endura; do they have one? If not, is there anybody they fantasise about completing the ritus with?
6. What is their relationship with their alt mode? Are they content with it? Do they use it whenever they get a chance, or only when absolutely necessary?
7. Is your OC religious? If so, what religion do they follow? (e.g. Neoprimalism, Spectralism etc.)
8. The Empyrean Suite starts playing out of nowhere. How does your OC react?
9. Imagine your OC somehow ascends to Primehood. Do they take on a different name? What sort of Prime would they be?
10. Who are their closest allies? Are any of them surprising?
11. Are there any bots they really clash with? (This could be the pettiest of squabbling to full-blown nemeses!)
12. Your OC is given the opportunity to completely change their frame and/or alt mode to whatever they choose (within reason). Do they do it?
13. If the war had never happened, what would your OC be up to? (Would they even exist?)
14. If they're an Autobot or Decepticon, are they die-hard members of their faction? Have they ever thought "okay, but those guys DO kind of have a point"?
15. For Decepticon OCs: Tarn has ranked every single Decepticon ever, from "the most decorated member of the conclave to the lowliest energon-shovelling petty officer". Where does your OC place on his ranking?
16. For Autobot OCs: did they read the ten thousand page version of the Autobot Code, or the abridged version?
17. For non-aligned OCs: have they ever been genuinely tempted to join a faction? If they *were* previously in a faction, what was the final straw that made them leave?
18. Your OC is given the opportunity to go back in time and kill either Megatron or Optimus before Shit Could Go Down. Do they do it?
19. Oh no! We've jumped universes, and now everyone's all weird and Wrong! What is your OC's Shattered Glass counterpart like?
20. Free space—ask anything else you can think of!
At the moment I have a lot of projects to work on, which is simultaneously nice and somewhat overwhelming. And there are so many things I want to start working on when my schedule clears up!
[Also, I am graduating this year and am stressed over choosing which university to go to.]
His name is Warp Core and he turns into a Starfleet shuttle. This is quite old art- I need to redraw him.
Attached is an image of various kinds of Starfleet shuttles. I have not designed the exact one that is Warp Core's alternate mode yet.
He lives in an AU that is a mixture of my personal canon Star Trek timeline and my personal Transformers continuity. In this AU, post-war Cybertron is an ally of the United Federation of Planets.
In my headcanon, the shuttle Cybertronians are related to the seekers, so they also come in trines.
These are Warp Core's trinemates, Ouranos [on the left] and Star Spinner [on the right]:
They view each other as siblings. As is tradition in Transformers designs, their current references are recolours of Warp Core.
When they first emerged, all three were various shades of grey. Since then, Star Spinner got a more vibrant paint job and Ouranos added pigmented minerals to their diet in order to increase the saturation of their natural colouration. Warp Core, being the least outgoing of his trine, retained his original colouration as to be able to blend in with regular shuttles.
All three work with Starfleet, though they are assigned to different starships.
Out of universe, Warp Core recently left his posting aboard the USS Sonder in preperation for it potentially going canon. I am currently looking for a new posting for him.
General worldbuilding stuff beneath the cut:
I haven't solidified the events of the war in my AU yet, as in my continuity it ended in the 21st century and Warp Core emerged in the 23rd.
As most AUs seem eager to tackle Cybertronian biology, here is my take on the matter:
Most Cybertronians are created from hotspots on the planet Cybertron. Hotspots are usually somewhat unstable, and their activity is dependant on Cybertron's health and its living population. The largest, most stable hotspot is at the Well of All Sparks.
The hotspots exist due to the AllSpark, an object or organ that exists within Primus and thus within Cybertron itself- perhaps simply being his spark [it is a debated topic among Cybertronian scientists]. It is unknown whether Unicron also contained an AllSpark or a similar object, but that is unlikely.
Recent scientific advancements have been able to simulate the AllSpark's behaviour, allowing Cybertronians to create temporary hotspots on themselves. This process usually results in minicons.
The average Cybertronian's natural lifespan is several million years, though a vast amount died young during the war. The oldest known Cybertronian is Primus, who has been alive- yet dormant- for billions of years.
All Cybertronians emerge with T-cogs, the organ which allows them to take on an alternate mode. Before the war, lower-class citizens would often have theirs surgically removed by the higher class.
In order to influence their final alternate mode, most Cybertronians scan their first object as a protoform. Though most can rearrange into a variety of shapes, their original alternate mode will always be the most comfortable and look the most accurate to the original object.
Surgery is required to properly change one's alternate mode. Most of those who took refuge on other planets during the war had gotten surgery to look exactly like native objects- as seen with the Autobots and Decepticons on Earth taking the forms of Earth vehicles.
Though every Cybertronian with a T-cog is capable of transformation, it is a skill that must be learnt rather than an innate ability.
