that's what my last print was. after half a week of forgetting to keep printing the next parts for the doom eternal super shotgun, I finally remembered today, and I don't think that any of this is usable.
first problem: it's too big. at first I liked the idea of having the shotgun be absolutely massive, but it's kinda mute if I can't hold the thing properly
while I don't know what I'm going to shrink it to, I want to be able to comfortably hold the thing. (which means I'm going to have to reprint all of the parts I've printed so far, yaaaaaay)
next, I had some issues with print quality:
usually this kind of deformity occurs when the printer is going from layer to layer too fast and prints on plastic that has yet to cool down, but I would be very concerned if that was what happened here as I had 2 of these pieces and both of them are absolutely big enough not to have these deformities even on their own, let alone the fact that it occurred on both
now, I don't know what this was that happened here, but it does not seem normal, this surface is supposed to be relatively flat, and while this image may not do a great job of showing it, it most certainly is not, idk why this happened, and I'm hoping it was random chance.
lastly, you can see in the image above that one of these plugs looks absolutely mangled, that's because it is. I had to get my printer to put supports in there, but either my technique isn't good enough, or it just straight up printed those supports into my print, making it absurdly difficult to get them out.
this entire print was fucking botched, if there is anyone out there who both knows enough about my problems to help fix them and cares enough to, I would VERY much appreciate your input.
either way, I'm going to go to bed.
