In the end, we won’t remember the most beautiful face and body. We’ll remember the most beautiful heart and soul.

DG
He goes silent, brows forced together in a single, stony crease. His tightens his full lips, thought commandeering expression. It is an altogether serious look - he considers this with great care.
‘ Yeah. That’s pretty cool. ’ He concludes at last, warming to the idea. ‘ Star wizards. But are we going to help the Alliance or the Empire? Probably the Alliance. ’ He pushes away from his plate, feeling comfortably satiated - albeit with a gnawing craving for fruit tart. Do they have that here? Maybe tonight. He can hope. Dad had always said everyone gets their favorite meal at Hogwarts at least once - but eyeing long rows of faces, he is starting to harbor some doubts.
DG looks up sharply, mouth parted in a crescent of hopeful, unsure interest. ‘ Really? That’s wicked! I’ve never even been out of England yet. Would you want to go back? See where you were born? ’ He shrugs his shoulders with a dismissive gesture. ‘ I don’t think Mum’ll take me to Nigeria anytime soon. My great-granddads are both, um… y’know. ‘ Very dead. ‘ But I have Babababa and Iyaiya here. ’
He watches with interest, then sheepish apology.
‘ Oh. brilliant!. I, uh, I guess we don’t really go to church. But I s’pose that’s fine. It’s about what’s important to you. And this is important, yeah? Everybody needs something to care about. ’
“ Wait, what Empire? I’m not helping some stupid Empire, it goes against my blood. ” She declares, shoving another forkful of food into her mouth with a smile as enthusiastic as it is confused. Still, it did beg the question what Alliance too -- she supposes.
An Alliance sounds better than an Empire just by principle, it’s first in the alphabet too. Definitely better.
She’s polishing off the last of her juice when his voice makes her forget all about her thirsty throat, pulling away with a juice colored smile painted on either side. “ I liked India a lot, I think. It was very hot at times, I always remember that, and the big shutters we’d open to let the wind in. We’d have to run all over the place to shut them when the rains hit, and it rained A LOT in India. But then the rains would stop and it’d be so hot you’d run it all over again to open them. I never saw snow until we came here. ”
“ Oh. . . sorry. My dad can’t to go back to India either. I think his family got mad when he left, or at least that’s what Yaya says. ” While her mouth handles the conversation, awkwardly, she’s sussing out things too. A bababa sounds a lot like bati - so she figures that’s an aunt, which is good. Her Yaya keeps everything together, and while she only visits now and again Rhee often dreams that one day she’ll stay for good - so having one all the time would be much better all around. But she’d never heard of an Iyaiya -- doesn’t sound like a name for an uncle either. “ Uhm - what’s an I-Iyaiya? ”
“ Anyway, lots of kids don’t go to church these days, but it must give your family LOADS more time. Service is nice and all but it can go on for a really long time, and sometimes my foot falls asleep. “

‘ Oh, come on, Revie. ’ The nickname is grating, but her smile is not – all big and wide, hope like lit sparklers in her deep brown eyes. ‘ It’s not going to be THAT bad. ’
‘ Do it for the experience! The pile of snacks ! The extra Astronomy credit ! ’ Her enthusiasm is not so much infectious as it is a oozing plague, a miasma riding on each chirpy burst of sound out of her mouth and her happy little hops as the inched closer to the surly slytherin. ‘ Just…think about it okay? ’
