Journal entry April 26th; I've been out. Scavenging. Can't say I'm much closer to solving my electricity issue, but I've collected a bunch of random crap, so that's something. I guess. But I did, among my scavenging, find something. Evidence of life. An encampment. Way better than mine, for the record. They must have been preparing this prior to the disaster. [Vanta:] Ho-ly shit. This place has enough generators and scrubbers to hold fifty people, easy. This isn't a some small bunker, it's an entire community of doomsday preppers. I wonder how— [Nina:] What do you think you're doing?

Journal entry April 19th; I've spent most of my time scavenging for anything edible in the surrounding area. Wild plants and fish aren't ideal; too exposed to toxins, but it'll do for now. Been digging a lot, too. This is what I do now, I guess, since the remnants of society are depleted. I take what the earth will give me. It's mostly rocks. I was able to replant a few things on my base. Carrots, sage, a lemon tree. Hopefully they'll take. It'll be more reliable, having them here. Still exposed, though. Maybe I can guild a greenhouse eventually. I've collected a bit of water, too. My mistake was settling somewhere so arid, but I take little enough from the stream so as not to destabilize it. It's good to brush my teeth again. Now I just need to get some power going. It's real dark in here. And I'm getting antsy.

Journal entry April 16th, 2035; I've managed to make myself a home. It's nothing fancy. Just a shipping container. A cot, a stove, a toilet. Things I've scavenged over the past few months. I built the scrubber myself. Air inside is safe to breathe. Guess that college degree finally came in handy. I've still got plenty of resources left over, should I find a use for them. Now I just need to find a way to feed myself. The stores around here ran dry weeks ago.

I never got good grades. Even if I went to UBrite, I'd flunk out. Waste of time. So I dropped out two weeks in, and I came here. No regrets so far. Except for the one really annoying neighbor. We don't really talk much these days. Well, I guess part of it is he's really straight-forward. He told me I was a disappointment and cut me off. Honestly, I didn't see it coming. I mean, all those times my brother went to jail, my dad just fixed it because 'family is everything' but when the tabloids called me an addict... cast out. Instantly. So much for family. I don't wanna talk about this anymore.
