   yuri smiles, eyes wide and twinkling, focused intently on minami, who’s hunched over with his thumbs placed strategically on the cork of the champagne. he nods, enamel slips out and traps his lower lip in excitement, irises nearly hidden by the expanding size of his pupils.

   ‘ mm! go ahead! ‘

   laughter bubbles in his throat, though it comes out as a puff of air through his nostrils. minami shouldn’t even be drinking– neither should yuri– but he can’t help but feel… giddy. it was a feeling in his stomach, light and fluttering, bringing warmth to his fingertips and toes.

   ‘ c’mon, pop it! ‘

   and minami does. the cork flies across the room and hits the wall, but it’s nearly mute under the sounds of cheers. yuri laughs, and it’s brilliant and soft, eyelids falling shut with the sheer magnitude of it. he feels warm. happy. 

   he’s home.
