buhhh I didn't want to have to write anything about this because there's already enough stigma being a LADS enjoyer as is but I'm kinda glad I uninstalled the app when I did (which was like 2 months ago). I really enjoyed playing the game. It had a great story, very well-developed characters, and a reasonably fun combat system. The fandom was never not awful, but there were enough pockets of the internet where I could find some that weren't unhinged. The fact that this game and its popularity got the attention of the Chinese government and may jeopardize the entirety of the Chinese otome gaming industry is wild. I mean I do think the industry does an unfortunately good job at targeting lonely women with money and making fictional men that are much more appealing than actual men but like....no one is making anyone play the game. I understand criticizing games and companies that are predatory but as far as otome games go, LADS was actually pretty damn free-to-play friendly. I can't say I haven't spent money on the game, but I never felt inclined to? And the amount I spent was reasonable and within my budget. I was looking forward to seeing how the new LI would have tied into the main story but the fact that he's been pulled because of (quite frankly very racist) backlash is so disappointing. All because he "looks like a foreigner" and has "tan" skin (um, where? that's some pale af skin to me). People said the same of Caleb when he's literally modeled after a famous Chinese actor so idk where tf they're getting this idea. Anyway, I'll miss my mains (Xavier and Zayne), but they are just pixels at the end of the day. NGL I kinda hope the servers get shut down. I think, culturally, some girlies need a mental reset. I think some of them need to understand that complaining about every little itty bitty thing but then going to the extreme with it shouldn't be rewarded. Idc how much money you spent on the game. It does not belong to you. Touch grass.

Listen I get it but you CANNOT use "sensory nightmare" as an excuse to avoid essential things. You HAVE to find a way to make it work, such as finding effective alternatives. But you can't just avoid it.

You need to eat some vegetables in your diet or you will become a lich.

You have to wear a life jacket or you will literally drown and die.

You need to be able to exist in public spaces with children.

You have to find a way.
