she likes to be kissed softly during romance movies. if you nibble down her neck and across her collar bones, sheâll melt into you. she will stop to pet every single dog, and would adopt every kitten if she could. she likes ice cream in most flavors and will eat it out of the bin if you let her - and you should let her. she likes it when you point out nice plants and give her pretty things like pebbles and grass rings. she gets sleepy somewhere around noon. she likes looking at the sky. i think she is in love with the moon. she used to be in love with me, too. when you kiss her forehead, tell her that her hair smells nice. tell her that the fleck in her eye is beautiful. tell her that her freckles and scars are treasure maps, tell her that her tummy is the cutest thing youâve ever seen. tell her your secrets, sheâll handle them perfectly. tell her that sheâs a lighthouse, a garden full of daisies, a secret hiding place where time stops and things make sense, an ocean deep. tell her that sheâs worth your whole being. tell her for me. hold onto her the way i couldnât. trust me, i know what i lost. give her the life she was waiting for, the one i couldnât hand her. give her romance and fairy lights and laughter and curling up and quiet, give her art and music and wild, give her home. trust me, hold onto her. i feel the ache of her absence as if she removed my soul.
so hold on for me // r.i.d (via inkskinned)

reaching up, helping her adjust the wig into place, he raised his fingers and signaled an okay; it looked as real as it would get. he felt bad for potentially throwing her disguise and hadnât been thinking about anything other than teasing her. âare you?â he was a little bit surprised that she was glad he had shown up. words of encouragement and sweetness didnât come often for him because he never allowed them to usually. it was strange that she would willingly offer up something like that when he kept his feelings, even small things like that, on lock down. he could deny that it made him feel warmer. âiâd be up for leaving with you!â watching her take a swig of his drink, following the liquid in her cheeks before watching her neck move as she swallowed, damon shook his head gently, curls falling into his eyes only to be pushed up with a hand. âi donât mind. in fact, you can have it.â damon didnât drink after all but it would look strange if heâd simply sat down and stared at her like he so wanted to do. watching the man come over and speak with her, he wondered where she was going off to but tried not to worry too much. he was sure she could take care of himself. squeezing her hand in his, relishing the soft contact of her skin, he followed her with his eyes until she was out of sight.Â
the club bustled around him for a few long moments and he glanced at his watch, eyebrow furrowing in concern and face marring into a frown. sheâd been gone quite a while and a seedy since of intuition fell to the pit of his stomach, moving out of his chair, always listening to his instincts and the voice in his head that had saved him more than once in the past, he headed toward the door sheâd walked out of. the cool night air rustled his flowing curls, he hadnât thought to put it up tonight, and he shivered, pulling his arms further into his leather jacket and keeping his head down against the wind blowing. he wondered how astrid was fairing out here since he was already cold. noticing two figures close to a dumpster further down the alley, he stopped and considered the picture before him, ice running through his veins that had little to do with the cool night air.Â
she hadnât the slightest idea how it happened, and if she knew a way out of it, it would have happened. the man who had been wanting to talk to her was without a doubt drunk. he grabbed the wig right off her head as soon as she set foot out the back door. it fell to the ground, realistically astrid should have gone into survival mode and fought back, but she couldnât remember any of the basic jabs. it was too late by the time she had come to her senses. the man had one hand around her mouth, her muffled screams getting absolutely no where, and he had her pinned against the side of the dumpster.Â
no sound was coming from her lips as his hands wandered all over her body, sending unwanted chills up and down her spine. âno, get off me-- now!â She kept pushing against him with her hands but no matter what she did he kept coming back, each time faster than the other. the air around her reeked of booze and cigarettes, making her gag ever so slightly. she saw a dark figure by the door and her eyes widened, biting down on the guys hand. when it was removed she called for help again, kicking her leg up in an attempt to get the guy off her.

such a tease. he smiled, the first of the night, and watched as she sauntered off stage, ass shaking all the way. clapping with the rest of the dogs at the bar, he picked up his drink once heâd shown his appreciation and swirled the amber liquid in it. he hadnât taken a drink in a very long time, alcoholics were prone in his family, but he did think often about temptation and what it would mean if he did take a drink or two. the sound of her voice drew him up and the glass was once again deposited upon the table in exchange for looking her over.Â
this close to him it was impossible to not look at her. he had no other place to throw his eyes without being considered rude. and if there was one thing that he prided himself on it was to never be rude to a woman. so he met her eyes and resisted the temptation to trek along her body; he didnât have permission to do that exactly. he was different than every other man in this bar in that he even thought to ask in the first place. âi came to see a friend!â he called, smirk in place before his hand reached out to tug at the ends of her wig, pulling it sideways a little bit. âi like your real hair better, you know.â he informed her, the bass in the club making his chest throb and his feet restless.Â
her finger tips gently grazed the neckline to his shirt; astrid had felt just barely any skin-on-skin contact while doing so, but that was her plan. she was the definition of a tease, but then again it was apart of the job. she chuckled, a little thing going off in her head when he tugged at her wig. âiâll have to go fix it now. thanks for that. weâre required to wear wigs. itâs apart of our privacy regulation when we sign our contract.â with a soft sigh, she lifted her hand away from his shoulder to adjust her wig. she hoped it looked real enough by the time she had finished.
âiâm glad you came though. thereâs a room in the back we could disappear to. no one would see us leave.â wiggling her eyebrows, astrid laughed. she picked up the glass from the table, the one intended for damon, and raised it. âare you not thirsty?â she stole a quick sip from the glass, looking around to see if anyone noticed. âi hope you donât mind, itâs been a long night. you donât even want to know where some of the money is hidden right now.â she joked. astridâs head turned to look behind her as soon as she felt a quick tap on her shoulder. a man whispered something in her ear and she nodded, facing damon again. âiâll be right back, okay? you stay right here.â to emphasize what she was saying, astrid grabbed his hand and squeezed it for a quick moment. giving him a smile, she walked through the sea of drunks towards the back door.

he didnât exactly know what had led him here of all places. heâd went to bed early and, like so many nights before, had awoken covered in a cold sweat. the nightmares were worse on some nights for whatever reason. the passing of veterans day had not been good to him. he wore his uniform with pride, did the things he did with pride, but there were memories of loved ones heâd fought alongside who had perished before his eyes. these ghosts would forever haunt his dreams and thoughts. he couldnât stop their replay, the days spent laughing with them and the ones in which he watched them all die, those would stay permanently etched behind his dark brown eyes for eternity. heâd thought about going to talk to someone about it all but he wasnât sure if they would understand. plus his contract forbade him to speak to anyone who may leak said information to someone else.Â
so he was here in this club watching astrid dance. at first heâd hid out in the back of the bar, getting himself a drink that he likely wouldnât touch. it was just for show, heâd come to see her. the petite brunette hadnât left his mind much since that fateful day in the cafe but heâd tried to keep himself preoccupied in hopes that it would keep him from seeking her out. alas, that was obviously not going to work when his demons seemed unlikely to leave. coming to his senses, wanting a closer view, he etched forward and took a seat in front of the stage, watching her and meeting her eyes under the cloud of smoke in the club. he didnât leer like so many other men, didnât slouch down and he most certainly didnât reach out to touch her. instead his eyes roved across her figure and he wondered if this was wrong. to seek her out and see her body this way before being allowed to anywhere else in private. he stubbornly glanced away and watched the patrons of the bar.Â
this atmosphere was where she felt more comfortable, where her addiction could be fed. the eyes that were on her body as she let the music take full control was in her opinion the best feeling she could ever experience. this was her kingdom. her arms went up into the air and then down her body. there were hollers, cheers and astrid swore she could feel a hand on her ankle, however it was short lived and replaced by a bill tucked safely away in between the strap around her ankle. lifting her foot up, astrid straightened her leg against her body and grab the bill between her teeth. that was when she then spotted the curly hair, straight posture and watching eyes from a familiar face.Â
she had a sudden flip in her stomach, which caused her to have an immediate reaction to turn around and walk off stage. but she didnât; instead astrid shook off her insecurities amazingly fast and finished the rest of the song. she dropped to her knees to collect her tips subtly, keeping the waiting customers busy with her smile, maybe with just a little booty shaking. she stopped right in front of damon, giving him a wink before she stood up and sauntered off stage. her dance was over, and she wouldnât be back on for another half an hour which gave her enough time to say hello. âgive it up for your favourite, seven!â the loud voice echoed through the speakers by the stage, rumbling through astridâs whole body. she adjusted her black wig and quickly touched up her makeup in the mirror before going back out on the floor. she found where damon was and tapped his shoulder. âso youâre stalking me?â she teased loudly over the music.

âAt least your boss was sensible enough to throw the dumb ass out. Hell, if I was in charge, heâd be banned from the building for a while. Thereâs no need for that, itâs not bragging if itâs the truth so no harm done. Oh? Well then, I must be super lucky to be able to keep your focus then.â He said, a smile growing on his lips at the word âposhâ. âI like to break the rules, darling.. more often than not. My story? I might be here looking for someone to spoil for an evening, or I might just be here because itâs a cheap place to drink.. stick around for much longer and youâll figure out the real reason.â
âCheap? Yes. Good? Maybe. I know of a better place though, and it leads me to believe youâre looking for a girl to be good for daddy. Should I say daddy or is it not your fancy?â Astrid asked, a spark of playfulness glinting through her eyes. Her eyebrows raised as her smirk widened, already liking this game he had to offer. It was all she thought it was when it came to clients that came in, just a game to keep her entertained long enough to make a few bucks. âBut please, break the rules. Manager isnât in tonight anyway.â
ofalessa
Alessa smirked softly at the girl, cocking her head to the side. âExactly. And I did have a reasonâ asshole was being a dick about my dadâs opinions. Iâm not my dad o-kay, Iâm not a fucking imbecile like him, god,â she groaned slightly, running a hand through the ends of her hair.
âIâll have to agree, your dads views are rather unorthodox and maybe a little insane, too much for British Columbia to handle Iâll have to admit to that---- but look at Ivanka Trump. She clearly is trapped inside something she doesnât want to be involved in and yet she has to. Iâm glad you sort of burst through that bubble of daddy-ship and are on your own.â

âNo, no, keep going. I love the compliments, Can I record this? So I can have it on record? No, but youâre right. Iâm very passionate about the spelling of orange. Iâd go ballistic if someone couldnât spell it. True? As in âthis is true?â Astrid, I - Iâm speechless. Iâm happy youâve overcome the obstacle, however. Very admirable.â
âYou get a certain quota of compliments a day before I start charging extra, and youâve already maxed out todays AND tomorrows. The saddest thing about this is that I could never intentionally be mean to you. You know me, Kieran. Any obstacle in my way is just another thing Iâll be walking over.â
he couldnât help but laugh and shake his head. âyour rear might take longer to be unbruised than your pride.â he was getting ready to comment about her still not taking his hand when she finally took it. he nodded his head, âlonger than iâd ever be willing to admit. it hurts my heart you say that.â he said clutching his chest a smile still almost infectiously on his face. he hummed as she ran fingers through his hair enjoying the little sign of affection. âsoon i hope. nah, along with being a magician iâm a superhero and knew you were in trouble. couldnât resist saving you.â it was just a little transparent fib, âwas last in line.â
Her head shook in obvious yet playful disbelief, the hand that was in his now gently sliding up his arm to his shoulder. âHow could you not tell me you were basically Clark Kent this whole time! I would have jumped your way bones faster.â She laughed to show that she was joking and dropped her hand. âHm, so it was you that was calling out to me. Did you see that dickhead at the front of the line? I donât have that kind of time to talk to people, but for you I make all the exceptions.â Giving a playful wink, Astrid glanced at her fallen coffee and frowned a little. âI should get a new one.â

Damon: Closer than you think.
Damon: You're known as a damsel because you can barely walk without falling down. How's that ass by the way?
Astrid: it's well rested in a pair of fish net stockings thanks, super comfy.
Astrid: it's a little lonely though, misses the touch of a hand striking the side of it imo

Did it turn him on when girls did that? âYes, actually, it does. It gives them something to hold onto when Iâm busy between their thighs.â He stated honestly, frankly, and in no way bothered by the question. âDonât you know that if you trim it or shave then itâll look bigger?â Not that he had a problem with his size - he never got any complaints about it, being slightly bigger than average - but of course he was male and he took better care of his appearance than most. It was more of him thing than a female thing. âI trim it if thatâs what youâre wondering about. Itâs very neat.â But he was a very neat person in general. His heart was certainly a miss by the fact that she opened the door for herself rather than let him get it. Not that he didnât think she could take care of herself but it seemed the most gentlemanly thing to do and heâd always vowed to himself that heâd never let hisself slip into the atrocious behavior of his abusive fathers towards his mother. Little things like this let him know that he was still on the right track, his fear of being inconsiderate marring his social activities with others. Ignoring her comment about promises was more of benefit to him than anything else. He liked teasing her and he knew that men probably fell at her feet all the time. The way to get under her skin, the way to get under anyones skin, was to show them something that they didnât see on a regular day. Waving to his friends behind the counter, knowing them from countless days spent in this cafe and for performing here on open piano nights and author nights, he gave them a smile and waited for the tiny woman to take him wherever she pleased.Â
The coffee ordering process was painless enough. Astrid waited ever so patiently with the tall stranger by her side, growing anxious by the second. âThereâs yet another thing we have in common.â She chimed in response to his trimming spiel. Truthfully, she was secretly hiding her shock at how serious she took her rhetorical question, but she was a girl with preferences and it was a good thing that she found out now instead of later. The line dwindled quickly down until it was her turn next. She ordered her black coffee quickly and didnât waste any time shoving a toonie towards the girl, grabbing her cup shortly after it was placed in front of her. âIf I donât get your name soon Iâll assume the worst.â Sipping from the spout, she paused for a moment to allow the scalding liquid to burn the inside of her throat before speaking again. âDo you come here a lot, then?â

âDoubt some drunk is gonna show any damn respect. I hope you kicked the guy out.â
âYou and the rest of the world,â she chuckled, adding an eye roll at the thought of the damn bastard. âBut what can yaâ do? Not a whole lot. People have their beliefs and when theyâre set on their ways...â
graysonhhq
â well, thereâs really only a couple of things that you can really rely on during remembrance day: that local middle school will have their sweaty pubescent students lead the ceremony, your poppy will probably fall off your shirt no less than ten times, and thereâll be assholes who donât realize how disrespectful theyâre being. hope the guy didnât stay long after that. â
âYou bet your ass he didnât. Although Iâll tell you that my poppy is practically non existent. I had to steal a few off of some customers because they all kept falling off when I went upside down. On the bright side we all wore red today and I look smokinâ hot in red. Itâs a little weird that you know that about middle school considering youâre like, ancient and probably havenât set foot in school for a good ten or so years.â

âThatâs what happens when drunken men donât know how to control themselves.â Gabriel stated, his brow raising slightly. âIâm assuming your boss or whomever was in charged kicked the asshole back out onto the curb? Shame, really, if the rest of the dancers look like you, he missed out.â
âYouâd assume correct. For both of those actually---- weâre all a stunning group of ladies. However I donât mean to brag but I am a pretty good looking girl, probably the youngest there too so...â Astrid trailed off, shrugging after a moment of silence. âYou look a little too posh to be on this side of town. Whatâs your story, stranger?â
