Astrology 101 // Lesson Eight - Mars Signs (planet of passion)
ARIES MARS - A person who has Mars in Ariesâ first instinct is to take action. They be quick to flare up, but theyâre equally quick at cooling down. These people arenât known for living in the past and holding grudges/feeling resentful. When they listen to their instinct, they get things done and make fast, decent decisions. Spontaneity, simplicity, purity of action, and innovations are one of their best assets. They are often one step ahead of us, and a predictable life makes them antsy. They enjoy challenges, but keeping up with them is difficult. However, they lose their initial enthusiasm quickly. Sometimes theyâre rude and impatient, as they expect others to be quick in action and not beat around the bush.
TAURUS MARS - Although calm and easygoing people, people with a Mars in Taurus can have powerful tempers when theyâre overly provoked. But they donât get angry as quickly as the other signs. These people value strength and stability and are driven by security. They are often rather sensual people, and some are slow to arousal, but theirs is an earthy and powerful sensuality. Most have long-term goals and the determinations to achieve them. They usually donât take on too many assignments at once, and if they feel like they canât do a project, then they simply wonât. These people are also very stubborn, and once they make a decision, thereâs almost no changing their mind.
GEMINI MARS - People with a Mars in Gemini need a fresh change of pace frequently just to keep their energy levels up. They have a physical reaction to boredom, and the more things on their agenda, the more active they are. When these people get angry, they use their words as their weapon. These people are also great debaters. Some are a bit fidgety and have plenty of nervous energy. These people channel their energy through their hands; these people often express energy through musical instruments and even video games. Most are attracted to puzzles and games as diversions. They are very adaptable and take on many projects at a time.
CANCER MARS - Mars in Cancer people are passive-aggressive. They resist change and shy away from direct confrontations. They need to feel secure before they act, so they might appear slow at first. However, their strength lies in their tenaciousness. Their sex drive can be paired with emotional need. Their protective nature is best expressed when theyâre turning the energy outwardâwhen theyâre being protective of others. They must avoid over-sensitivity and self-protection when it comes to sex.  They can be argumentative and manipulative, and when they have defense reactions, they have bursts of emotional displays, especially when they  feel corned. They prefer to handle situations peacefully and humanely.
LEO MARS - People with a Mars in Leo have a strong need to create in some way, and are determined to live their lives with a significant meaning. Passion runs high, and so does desire. They enjoy the pleasures of risk-taking. They often have well-defined ambitions. They act with authority and power. While they are easy to arouse, their passion is long-standing. Impatient with small-mindedness and disloyalty, they have a strong idealistic streak. They get easily irritated when they feel humiliated. They act with their heart, and though some are self-righteous, the more sophisticated people are kindly leaders.
VIRGO MARS - People with a Mars in Virgo are productive, goal-oriented, and practical people. Although they juggle many things at once, they get things done quite well. Most people with this sign are not aggressive. They can be a little hard-nosed and critical, but they rarely ever push others around. However, their anger can turn them into complaining, over-critical nags. However, this stage is unlikely to last for long. These people can be quite particular about their methods, especially how they accomplish and organize their goals and their work. They derive plenty of energy and life force from the things they take on. They are perfectionists at heart. These people want to be good at what they do, and in bed, they will generally be open to experimentation only to feed their curiosity and feel savvy.
LIBRA MARS - People with a Mars in Libra are not very decisive, but they do get things done eventually. Many of them procrastinate, but itâs mostly because they feel the need to weigh all the alternatives before taking action. These people also get caught up in defending themselves and others. They want peace, but theyâll also add in a little desire to balance it out. Libra Mars people are also passive aggressive. They donât want to look mean or unfair, but their aggression has to go somewhere. For some, this might result in sneaky behavior and subterfuge, while for others, they turn their energy into action and fight for justice and fairness in the world. These people know how to predict when problems will occur, and they know how to compromise and are excellent at conflict management.
SCORPIO MARS - Â People with a Mars in Scorpio love to challenge themselves to do the impossible. Their surface is usually calm and cool, but underneath the surface is a whole entire story, and itâs unlikely that theyâll let you in easily. These people have the ability to see through others and exploit them for what they really are. Although their sexual stamina is the strongest of all the Mars positions, they find it extremely difficult to share their partners. They donât accept compromises. Instead, they prefer to accept challenges and make changes. People with this sign who have low self-esteem can become twisted. Instead of beating themselves up, they turn their self-loathing outward and end up manipulating others and feeling resentful.
SAGITTARIUS MARS - People who have a Mars in Sagittarius prefer to run away from their problems rather than face them head on. They have to do something, just not something about it. People with this sign should consider physical activity as the best means on anger management. These people are often known for starting many projects with enthusiasm, but rarely following through. Most of the time, theyâre playful and fun-loving. And while they do like debates, they can go to extremes and some even take it personally if you donât agree with them. More often than not, itâs possible that they havenât thought things through and are âwinging itâ. Theyâre passionate lovers and are turned on by open-mindedness and good humor, but are not patient when sex gets too intricate or serious.
CAPRICORN MARS - People who have a Mars in Capricorn have a more subdued and controlled style of approaching life. Most donât come across as particularly enthusiastic, but theirs is a low-key but determined energy. They like to be on top of things, and they are not afraid of hard work. Their anger is expressed in a cool, level-headed way, Their self-control is pretty strong when it comes to expressing anger, drive, energy, and sexuality. Their desires are strong, but  itâs rather focused on the physical and material world. These productive people get off when they see tangible results from their efforts. They are often a little hard on themselves and sometimes others. But they are reliable as they have a sense of responsibility on both themselves and others.
AQUARIUS MARS - People with a Mars in Aquarius are rather proud of their independence. Because Aquarius is progressive and open-minded when it comes to the world at large, it can be surprising that on a personal level, these people are quite obstinate. If they feel trapped, they are most likely to rebel. They get off on mental and intellectual pursuits. And while they are a bit scattered, thereâs a method to the madness thatâs not obvious to the naked eye. They are quite clever at getting what they want. While they are not overly aggressive, they are very willful, which brings about their clever and unique way of getting their way. They have a nice characteristic of letting others be, but they also have a bad superiority complex and obstinacy.
PISCES MARS - People with a Mars in Pisces have a way an indirect way of moving through life. They seem to go with the flow, making them one of the most passive Mars sign and very inactive. They prefer to let life just happen instead of trying to control it. They donât seem capable of hurting a fly, but if they donât find creative expression for their energy, they can can stir up a storm through indirect aggression. They donât often know what they want, and when they do, they donât play games to get it. Itâs hard to know where they stand on an issue as their desire are changeable and moody, but some take a stand on issues, making love and compassion their mission. The happiest of these people have a creative outlet that allows them to express their desires of the moment, and their compassion freely and imaginatively.
