Lights shine differently in the midwest. The buzzing orange light at the center of the intersection will look orange and bleach everything around it. The old gas station on the corner casts a red light onto wet pavement from its flickering neon sign. House windows are alight with blues and golds and greens. The light in the corn field seems to be coming from the corn itself, not the sliver of moon above.
