All I want is all what my mother wanted for me when she raised me - to be happy. For that, I donāt need to be in a relationship. I donāt need to have a certain level of respect. I just want to care very much about what I do and be kind to everyone in the process. Itās important that I can feel that. Thatās happiness.
Origin of the name 'Foggy' y'all

Hey. Yeah, hi. I have a question. What exactly was the narrative purpose of Foggy lying to Matt?
Y'know, that whole out-of-character duplicitous thing where Foggy kept secrets from Matt and then their parting words gave the implication that Foggy still didn't like/trust Daredevil. Because, at this point in time, having only seen season 1, it served no narrative purpose.
Matt's angst the whole season centered firmly on his murder attempt on Bullseye. I guess he kind of thinks about that parting "didn't want to give you an excuse" moment when he's sad, but it's not even a footnote, he never even mentions it when he does open up about his feelings. Unlike the whole "my best friend died and I immediately tried to kill a guy" thing, which comes up more than once. Them parting on unhappy terms is basically unnecessary to Matt's journey (which everyone keeps telling me was ~so important~ š).
As for keeping secrets about Benny and the Red Hook case, again, what's the point? It isn't needed for Bullseye to go after Foggy. Hell, even in the story he didn't find Benny on purpose. Bullseye went to FOGGY'S APARTMENT. Benny being there was complete coincidence! Bullseye can just stalk Foggy until there's an opening to kill him since they wanted it to look like a random revenge killing anyway.
But no, the story tangles Benny up in it and then ignores him for the rest of the season. Which you think Matt would have dug into, since Benny was getting threats and Foggy secretly stashed him, but NOPE, he ends up completely blindsided on the entire Red Hook case. And then concludes that Foggy was somehow unaware of the scope/enormity too? HUH???
If Foggy didn't know how serious this was, WHY have him stash his client secretly? Just have Foggy tell Benny "You'll be fine", not stick him in his apartment, and literally nothing changes. You don't need Benny in that apartment to get Bullseye to Josie's. Matt leaving Josie's is completely unnecessary to Bullseye sniping Foggy dead in the street. None of this is necessary!
So, again, WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE? Because from where I'm sitting, its only purpose is to make Foggy look like a bad friend, make the audience unhappy with him, and have him act out of character. And that surely isn't the purpose! (I say foolishly optimistically while holding fellow Foggy fans back from biting some heads off š¤Ŗ)
Season 2 should tie this all up in a pretty bow and fix this glaring issue. Along with the fact that Bullseye didn't kill Benny, who is still totally missing from the story despite being just as much a target as Foggy. If season 2 doesn't address this, then it is BAD writing and I'll be super pissed.
does anybody even work in this office?
