Hey, I’m Astrothii! You can call me by my user or Sable, I answer to either. I make art and write stories relating to Star Wars and really anything else I’m interested at the moment.

You can find me on Ao3 under the same name as my blog!

(I’m currently working on a Clone Wars Au that diverges at the Mortis Arc! Anakin and Obi-wan are left with no memory of what happened— or who they inadvertently left behind. I haven’t updated it in a good while, and plan on rewriting what I’ve already written, but it’s been posted on Ao3.)

the lion does not concern herself with the fact the school’s administration may or may not have stepped in to change the musical’s cast list when she was given the male role she auditioned for in order to give it to a the male son of a staff member

Anyway, the New Mandalorians exist because the fucking ecosystem of the planet was destroyed due to the Mando's warmongering and civil wars. They're an anti war political party trying to resuscitate a dying planet. They turn to outright pacifism because their people were decimated by a recent! Civil war!

It's mad that so much of the fandom let's themselves get caught up in "oh but what about self defense, teehee" and "what happens if negotiation fails and you have to do whatever it takes to stay alive". She uses traditional warrior guards, clearly she isn't an absolute pacifist. But even ignoring the fact that some forms of pacifism allow for things such as self defense and even revolution, not to mention non violent tactics like disarming and de-escalation, it's missing the point of what the new mandalorians represent!

War kills people! War kills the environment! Glorifying violence and war makes people hungry for violence and war! That's the message that is being broadcasted to us by the show but people see this and go "b-but 🥺 my violence". Like ... Star Wars has always had anti-war themes helloooo is this thing on?

sometimes i forget the louvre used to be a castle. i was researching my favorite dead french guy and saw he was imprisoned in (and died in) the louvre and really did first picture him locked up next to winged victory and the mona lisa

okay don’t get me wrong i love to defend a mischaracterized female character but medea really is not an example of that and i think it’s wild people try to paint her as such 😭

trying to make modern aus for sci-fi/fantasy fandoms like star wars (especially ones with heavy political themes) is so funny bc wdym some guy named sheev palpatine beat bush in the 2004 election

i would really love to see jorge make some of the women of troy pretty major players in his ilium musical— helen, cassandra, and andromache specifically.

for andromache specifically i think he has the really cool opportunity to add some elements of just a man into her final conversation with hector (he cannot beat achilles because he’s “just a man” while achilles is a demigod) or use the melody in a lullaby for astyanax 💔

anyways i’m super hyped to see how he paints the story bc there are really so many ways and perspectives you can tell it from

so i’m reading the hunchback of notre dame book after being super fixated on the movie + disney musical for a while and to my shock and horror victor hugo’s phoebus is just below frollo on the Worst Guys Ever list

the whole trojan war could have been avoided if paris just. ate the apple in one comically large bite. athena, hera, and aphrodite would have been stunned into silence.

Star Wars really said "Anakin Skywalker had issues rooted in childhood trauma that was not his fault" but also "Anakin made his own choices as an adult for which he alone is responsible" but ALSO "In spite of the truly evil things he chose to do Anakin was still capable of being loved and redeemed" and I think that's important.
