 eyes  nervously  scanned  the  wrinkled  piece  of  paper  that  had  found  its  way  into  her  pocket  —  when  did  she  get  so  careless  ?  —  when  did  someone  do  this?  she  reads  it  slowly,  chewing  on  the  inside  of  her  cheek.  and  even  with  this  note,  how  was  she  supposed  to  respond  —  raven-haired  girl?  she  searched  her  brain  for  a  face  to  match  the  description  when  it  clicks.  she  quickly  runs  to  grab  her  journal,  which  doubles  as  a  sketchbook  and  flips  through  the  pages,  throughout  the  pages,  there  are  several  unfinished  photos  of  the  raven-haired  girl  who  she  had  started  to  believe  was  a  ghost  until  jesse  told  her  otherwise  —  they’d  never  spoken  a  word  to  one  another…  and  i  guess  that  was  all  going  to  change  today.  ellie  stood  to  her  feet,  stretched  her  shaking  hands  out  before  balling  them  into  fists,  and  headed  for  the  door.
