And the Dalmascan princess was afraid to admit that aloud. So she kept quiet.. and her gaze in any other direction than his.
Princess Ashe with rosy cheeks certainly was a sight Balthier both appreciated and also would have never believed he’d ever see. The princess had very emotional moments - mostly very stubborn moments of utter defiance all the time - but he had taken notice of the fact that she was also quite hard to read when she wanted to be. With enemies lurking around every corner and every ounce of trust possibly misplaced, it was no wonder.
“Like what?” he teased, lips forming a faint smirk. “Come now, princess. How can I look at anything or anyone else with you in the room?” Al-Cid, as corny as his compliments had been, had been right about Ashe’s gorgeous looks. “As you know, I have a fable for beauty.”
