You mean you're finding the English scanlation? Of course you can't find it; the group doing it hasn't released yet. Or else you can look at the Japanese raws floating around for fun.
It's time to call it quits
As you may know, among Nakamura Asumiko's works, I especially favor Utsubora - The Story of a Novelist. So to me, this blog, while is the place to show off her beautiful artworks, at the same time is a wake-up call about Utsubora because I want somebody to fucking scanlate such a gorgeous series. Not sure if I have a voice in this, but the situation went better than expected: Utsubora got licensed by my favorite US publisher, Vertical. Although it takes one more year for a poor student like me to grab a copy of it but I'm partly satisfied now.
After that, I hardly find any purposes for this blog to stubbornly stay alive - at least in a year or two, she won't make anything dark and twisted and hard-to-sell like Utsubora again. So in short, I quit - it was fun while it lasted. Thank all of you for following me throughout the whole year!
“Wait, I remember these set of panels. Where have I seen them before? Maybe its in my bookshelf. *rustle* *flipping through pages* Ah! he it is!” It is only halfway through Utsubora that I find out that this series was also serialized in Manga Erotics F. Strangely, I feel slightly embarrassed about this. I feel like its something I should have known or recognized much earlier or by the time I bought it. Maybe I didn’t care from which manga magazine, all I cared about was, “I want to read this.”
As I am reading this story, I have an idea what is going to happen but at the same time I feel like I am walking into a building blindfolded. I recognize the layout of the building but I don’t know what is inside of every room of this building.
Utsubora Translation Note
Mind-blown!

My copy of Utsubora came and it’s beautiful. sobs
I’ve been waiting for this dress to come in the mail since the end of March! And finally after waiting for so long it came in yesterday!~ *3*)~ The print is so much prettier in person that when I had last seen it at Anime Matsuri! *A*! Also included in my package was a little comic art piece with the dolls by Nakamura Asumiko!!!~ (I’m such a sucker for her artwork! So this was an amazing bonus *A*!)

I am so so so happy about this ; v ; I’m so happy that Nakamura Asumiko’s works are being published! She is probably my very favorite mangaka ever and her stories and her style just make my heart ache like hell and I just want to scream out my love for her
I would very very very very recommend this manga to everyone!! Nakamura Asumiko needs a lot more love and attention and I’d love to see more of her works getting published! (And believe me, I usually don’t like sharing things, but this is worth it T v T;;)
Now GO GO GO GO and buy this!!!!! ´ q `
Another person
“When I realized the two couldn’t exist without the other, I lost sight of the boundary of the world.” - UTSUBORA by Asumiko Nakamura
Bought my copy at last~ <3 I love the last line of the description “for mature appreciators of the Japanese graphic novel.” Doesn’t that describe Nakamura’s work as a whole? ふふ〜 (*^^*)
Some Utsubora chapter pages! (Sorry about poor photo quality, my camera lens is cracked…but hopefully that will encourage you to get the real thing and see the art in all of its glory!).
Nakamura Asumiko is a mangaka with an exceptionally unique style with works that span a variety of genres. This is her first US release, and whether or not we’ll see more from her depends on the sales of this release. So go and order this manga if you’re even slightly interested, I promise you won’t regret it! :)
From Baka-Updates:
“Asumiko Nakamura is one of Japan’s hidden gems. The artist has penned more than 15 titles since 2002 and has reached critical acclaim for her sensitive protrayals of romantic narratives featuring a wide range of characters - men and women, young and old. Nakamura has worked in a range of genres for an equally broad range of audiences winning recognition in almost every category - shojo, women’s comics, men’s comics, LGBT fiction as well as erotic fiction.”
EVERYONE GO PREORDER OR BUY UTSUBORA ASAP.
Last I heard preorder sales were pretty dsymal so GOGOGOGOGOGOGO.
Not to mention Ed said if Utsubora sells well, Vertical would love to be her main publisher in the US (which means they will take her Le Théâtre series into consideration as well, other titles are hard to say) ~
My Utsubora preorder came, yay <3 It’s absolutely beautiful, I hope more of Nakamura Asumiko’s work comes out in English. There are very few manga that I can be bothered to purchase nowadays, but I think her work is worth it and she deserves the support.
Come on Asumiko-sensei's fans, her work deserves a shot!
As promised a photo of our office copies of Asumiko Nakamura’s UTSUBORA omnibus.
Don't forget to preorder the English version:
