For our first episode of the MangoCast, Ed and Patrick sit down with Kodansha editor Mr Mimura at NY ComicCon. The three have a discussion about the editing process, breaking through as a manga editor in Japan and working with some of the biggest names in manga at an early age. Mr Mimura then goes on to share his thoughts about the differences between the US and Japanese markets, and how to work with new talent in Japan. He then gives his thoughts on seinen manga in the US and why it is taking some time to catch on. We’ll be doing these every month or so. So please send us your thoughts on how to improve the program. Why is the Bakemonogatari novel split into 3 parts when the original novels only consists of 2 volumes?

Because BAKE is three volumes in Japan now.

A book popped up in my Amazon recommendations called Attack on Titan: The End of the World, with Vertical listed as the publisher. I can't find any details about it or the author online beyond the fact it has the same subtitle as the live action movie. Can you enlighten us as to what it is?

It is the novelized version of the Attack on Titan movie.
