This is the Chinese Baidu forum, 神之再起, in translation, “The Gods Rise Again”. It is a forum that supports TVXQ as two; the Baidu forum that has TVXQ’s Chinese name, 东方神起, is mostly OT5, could be said as a combination of JYJ and current TVXQ forum. Baidu forum is safely name as the largest KPop fans platform in China. This forum, 神之再起, was established on the basis for new fans that were only fans of two, or stans for Yunho and Changmin.
Regardless though, the admin posting this on Weibo (Chinese twitter basically) said that when they explained that their forum supports the two of them as TVXQ, Changmin and Yunho both smiled, and Yunho insisted on writing out the full forum name. When asked isn’t it hard to write out so many characters, Yunho said no matter how difficult he has to write it. Changmin wrote the second row of Chinese characters, in writing is “happy 2 year birthday” as the forum was established for two years on 2012, December the 8th. “He even added a heart at the end and told us happy birthday in Chinese… When we explained to them what 神之再起 meant, they even gave us season cards as gifts. Thank you so much. T T” Other comments were, “I will always remember your smiles and thanks after we explained who we were! In a time crunch too, they insisted on writing Chinese, much more complicated than their usual English/Korean signs.”
Moral of the story: I would like to point out to the OT5 or AKTF that says things like I can never view HoMin as TVXQ, I wish TVXQ is five again in response to every video they do, or even things like why doesn’t HoMin just leave SM and join JYJ — just how appreciative Yunho and Changmin when the fans told them they support and recognize them as TVXQ, as two. That the path they chosen has support. I understand sentiments for fans that started to like them during the earlier days of being five, however, if you truly support Yunho and Changmin, you should know their difficulties to bear and carry the name of TVXQ for its high expectations, but they kept this name and they will keep it alive. Indulging too much in the past can bring harm to others.
Sometimes I question whether some of you are just loving your own memories and feelings for TVXQ as five, or truly all of the members. This doubt does not goes to the OT5 that supports both groups separately and recognize Yunho and Changmin as TVXQ. I don’t think it’s wrong to feel a certain way, and that is missing the past TVXQ and some times wishing they would be together again. However, even with that wish you must accept reality, and that is they’re going separate ways and if you do love all of them, support them as they are, instead of telling them how incomplete they are or that they are good enough, which is always the general message when you say shit like “I miss the old TVXQ :(” on their music videos.
Being a new fan myself, I got to know TVXQ through Yunho and Changmin. I then watched their old videos and learned about Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong. All five of them are very talented. (I must clarify that I am not a fan of JYJ merely because I like current TVXQ’s music better in personal taste, but I do not hate on them) TVXQ as five or as two are both amazing to me; if the day comes that they choose to regroup, I would support their decisions whole heartedly. However, hoping for the future and reminiscing the past should not blind your eyes away from present, and that is Yunho and Changmin chose to be TVXQ as two, and they are so, so appreciative, when fans recognizes that.
