The Midnight Series
Rating: Scales between PG13 to Mature. Everything Mature+ will be tagged as such.
Fantasy Mumscarian AU
This takes place in a world that mashes up Real Life, Fantasy RPG and Minecraft. There’s no game mechanics- no inventory, no respawn, no hunger bars, etc- but there are mobs, redstone, magic and enchanting, and the setting is an undetermined medieval-esque world with mixed technology bordering between middle ages and modernity. Oh... and gods are real.
Grian is trying to flee from something he can’t outrun and stumbles into the world of the supernatural. Mumbo has been alone for a long time and no longer knows how to open up. Scar is all too aware he’s living on borrowed time and acts... accordingly.

So a long time ago, ~2011 there was what is by many considered to be the first successful Minecraft RP, Shadow of Israphel from the Yogscast (side note, they are also the reason I began playing MC). I'm not gonna spoil anything, but long story short the series has never been finished (I still hold hope in my heart...), and mind you it's been years since I last fully watched SoI so I might have some details wrong, but one of the goals the heroes had was to get to the city Icaria, which since the story never concluded we never saw outside of like, a flashback and mod spotlights.
In Midnight, SoI is actually a canon event, but it happened in the Ancients' time, at the height of adventure and predating the warden, and is a long lost story in modern times. The Icaria in Midnight is not just a reference but actually is that Icaria, though the design described in story is a little different from the little bits we've seen since, y'know, 2011/2012 Minecraft was severely limited in what they could do...

Hi hello! I am very much alive, but I have no idea when I'll continue (it is NOT abandoned I promise <3), I've been super busy with life the last couple years- I'm going back to school to finish my Bachelor's, just got back from a summer program, am working on FINALLY getting my driving license (long story I don't have the energy to explain but if you're out there, please don't put off getting your license if you're able to drive and have any control over it <3), school starts again in about 20 days (senior year hell yeah!), am working (full time rn, planning to go part time once school starts....... if I don't just quit.....), I need to look into field schools for next summer while also getting a job/internship for my field lined up, am considering and researching a master's degree/programs (need to speak to adviser but I'm thinking of taking a year or two to work entry level before starting Master's, if I choose to do one), and right now my best friend and I have taken up the challenge of making our own ren faire costumes lol
I'm hoping to be able to continue fairly soon, but for the time being I have very little freetime to devote to writing- or at least writing something as major as Midnight, I don't want to throw out something unsatisfying or sub-par. I'm sorry I dropped off the face of the earth RIGHT after That Scene, but life comes fast and waits for no one, and I'm prioritizing getting it on track and getting the fuck out of retail! Hey! I was very inspired by your Midnight series, and the concept you have for the half fae/ half human scar. I was wondering if it would be okay to include some of the elements you used for that character for an original story i am working on. The way I see it, I don't own concepts; as long as people don't copy my story word for word or beat for beat/plot for plot I don't mind people taking inspiration or using general concepts. Hi! Midnight is definitely not abandoned, there's a bit of burnout involved plus a busy life (I'm back in school fulltime which doesn't leave me a lot of brainspace for serious writing) that's sort of hit a wall, but I just went on hiatus for a bit (you can ask the Vault, I kinda sorta dropped off the face of the earth for a few months and have only in the last couple months crawled back into the world jhgfdjk). And yeah "a bit" is more like... a year... but the way I see it, it's better to wait until I'm excited to write than to try and force it.

If you're nearby they're looking for clothes, blankets, shelf stable food, rain gear, flashlights, and batteries, which is what most other groups asking for supplies are looking at too.
The TriCities Mutual Aid group is mostly asking for volunteers and supplies in the Tennessee/Virginia area. However, they may shift to donations, and you can reach out to them to see if they would be welcome either way.

Other physical supplies people will be looking for in flood impacted areas include:
bottled water, potentially water filters
personal hygiene items: wipes, camping showers, tampons/pads/other menstrual products, handsanitizer, mosquito spray, laundry detergent, washboards, toilet paper, diapers, and especially any products safe for sensitive skin
medications- ibuprofen, monistat and other meds for yeast infections, cold and cough meds, any diabetic meds that can be safely shared, etc
individually wrapped low or no prep food items, baby formula, and Gatorade
duffel bags, backpacks, heavy duty storage totes and trash bags, 5 gallon buckets, coolers
Fans, dehumidifiers, moisture sensors, generators, gas and gas cans, solar charging items and battery banks, first aid kits
chainsaws, crowbars, hammers, air filters, respirators, 2×4 planks, bleach, roofing nails, heavy duty gloves, and potentially waders.
and board games or other non electric activities for children
Double check if you can before you donate these items to make sure whatever local drive you're headed to wants them and can distribute the more specialized ones where they're needed
And please! Add any funds you know of, especially for South Carolina and North Georgia since I wasn't seeing many funds for those areas! I know South Carolina is in desperate need and there's definitely parts of North Georgia in need too. Atlanta saw some bad flooding so keep an eye for them too!
