Pietro knew he’d taken her off-guard. But maybe that was what he needed to do. She was still a mystery to him, he couldn’t quite figure out what kept drawing him in. “Aww, I liked the mask,” he teased, pushing past her. “I wanted a picture.” He took in the apartment with a quick, cursory glance before turning back to her. He was going to say something, but then Teddy walked in. “That is not a dog. That is a cloud,” he pointed out, stepping towards the dog carefully. “I won’t bite you if you don’t bite me,” he said, making a suspicious face at Teddy. “I did not expect Sharon Carter to have a giant teddy bear for a dog,” he added, looking up at her. “You are full of surprises.”
»
♕ — Sharon let Teddy go so he could sniff Pietro out and she went to pick up the bowl that she had poured her popcorn in. “He won’t bite. Only when I’m threatened. He’s a very well trained pup,” she said as she made her way back into the living room where they both were. “Oh, well, he’s a retired vet who didn’t have a home to go to. He lost his buddy overseas and was kind enough to come home with me,” she explained before she simply held the bowl out to Pietro. “But me, and surprises? You showed up here and I looked like a kindergarten drawing of iron man.”

Pietro heard the microwave beeping in the background, smelled popcorn on the air, and… the facemask was hard to miss. He snorted too. “I can see that,” he said, leaning on the doorframe. “Are you going to invite me inside to join your very busy evening?”
»
♕ — Admittedly, Sharon was flustered and felt way out of her element. She blinked once and then twice before she held the door open for him. “Yeah, of course, come in,” she said as she reached up to take off the mask. She cringed a bit as part of it stuck to her nose and she murmured, “ow”, under her breath. “I hope you don’t mind a lot of take out, and dogs,” as soon as she mentioned dogs, her rather fluffy great pyrenee jumped off her couch to sniff out the newcomer and she quickly moved to keep the pup from tackling Pietro. “This is Teddy.”

Steve wasn’t sure how to balance a personal and professional life, but he had promised to take Peggy on a date. Talking to her about the details of that was probably a good first step. But when he rounded the corner on the way to her office, it wasn’t Peggy he ran into. “Agent Carter,” he said, stopping short. “Sharon. Hi,” he said, feeling suddenly awkward. “I was just – how are you doing?”
»
♕ — After placing the file she had been working on on her aunt’s desk for Peggy to review, Sharon took in a deep breath and started to retreat when she found herself face to face with Captain America. Her brow furrowed as she looked up at the infamous man and tilted her head to the side curiously. Then, it started to click as she realized the direction he was heading. She crossed her arms and lifted her chin to look directly at Steve. “Where are you going, Captain?”

It was late. The streetlights were just streaks of light as Pietro whizzed by them, but there were still plenty of people to duck and dodge around on the street. He skidded to a halt in front of her building, then zipped up to her door. He rapped on it repeatedly until it swung open. “I’m bored, let’s go out,” he said, grinning at her. “Unless… you were already busy?”
»
♕ — Sharon hummed softly when her microwave beeped and she happily removed the popcorn but whined when she heard the knock on her door. She made her way to the door and her eyes grew wide when she saw Pietro. Her hands instantly went to her face to touch the facemask that she had plastered against her skin. “I was... busy,” she said with snort.

“Can you say that again?” Peggy sighed, “There’s no way I heard you correctly.”
»
♕ — “I said,” Sharon cleared her throat. “Please give me an excuse not to go back home for dinner with my parents.”

Pietro, for once, was at a loss for words. He was used to her keeping up with him – even beginning to get used to someone other than Wanda cutting to the core, but this tirade was different. “Who says that isn’t something I want?” he muttered finally, his brow knitted together. He sighed irritably, and gestured around the room. “I know I don’t treat you like everyone else here. In case you haven’t noticed. And I know you walk around here like you have something to prove to everyone. But I know you don’t. At least not to me.”
»
♕ — Sharon couldn’t enjoy his stunned silence for too long when he managed to get her right back. Before she decided to say anything, she grabbed herself a drink from the passing tray and then she looked back at him. “You honestly have a funny way of showing it,” she remarked and shrugged. Unable to stop it, her expression softened and she glanced down for a moment hating that it felt that all her insecurities were rising to the surface. “Well, that would just make you on that,” she managed to murmure before she lifted her chin back up as she regained her composure.

Pietro pouted until she looked at him – which felt like an eternity, did she have to text at a snail’s pace? He briefly considered tossing her phone to the side, but luckily she finished before he’d decided to go through with it. “That isn’t an answer to my question. Are you here for fun or business, Thirteen?” he drawled. “You didn’t remember your manners either, but I also look very nice,” he said, pulling down his suit jacket and grinning at her.
»
♕ — Sharon tipped her head to the side as she looked him over. “You look alright,” she said with a nod before she simply shrugged her shoulders. “I’m here for fun and no, you’re not rubbing off on me. You’re just determined to think you know me without actually bothering to actually know me, which is sad because we could be friends but that doesn’t seem to be something you want.”

“Look who has come out to have fun,” Pietro called from behind her. He grinned, then zipped in front of her. “I think I’ve rubbed off on you, Thirteen. Or are you here to officially keep an eye on things?” he teased.
»
♕ — She had just finished texting her mother thank you for finding her choli and antriya so last minute when Pietro suddenly appeared in front of her. She simply raised her brows, sent the text, before she finally acknowledged his presence. “Hello to you too. Yes, I do look nice, thank you for remembering your manners,” she said with a role of her eye. “I was invited, nothing to do with you.”

“I just assume that is the SHIELD motto. That or some other ерунда,” he said, waving a hand in the air. He was more than a little put out when she did not even react to his running circles around her. It made it far less fun to do, though she was impressively adept at keeping her eye on him. “Do you spend a lot of time thinking about my manly ego, Thirteen?” he asked, a cocky grin on his face. He stopped right in front of her and leaned in close. “Deal,” he said. And then he bent down to scoop her into his arms. Racing away with her in his arms, the city a blur around them. Within minutes, they were across the city, and he skidded to a halt in front of a very specific building. Pietro set her down. “Oh, right. Coffees,” he murmured. He held up a finger, then dashed off. Returned seconds later with two coffees, passing one over. He grinned and then pushed the door open. The arcade inside was loud, blinking lights on various machines everywhere. Pietro held up a bag of tokens he had already procured. “I bet you can’t beat me at any game in here,” he challenged, tossing the bag over to her. “Highest score when the bag is empty wins.”
»
♕ — Sharon rolled her eyes though a little more playfully than she normally did around him. She didn’t really get much chance to respond before he picked her up and rushed them off to the destination of his choice, It took a second or two after he placed her back on the ground for her body to catch up with them, and she placed her fingers against her lips when a wave of nausea washed over her. She managed to push it down when he returned with their coffee and she took in the aroma to settle her nerves. She didn’t know how he handled that on a daily basis but she was glad that she wasn’t the super one of the two of them. Her eyes grew wide at the sight of the arcade and she couldn’t help but to grin. It had been a rather long time since she had stepped into a place like this. She pointed her finger at him, “normal speed or I will go straight to your sister.”

“That is not the point,” Pietro said, making a face to bite back the laughter on his lips. He was only half-successful, and he coughed to cover the rest of the sound. “I thought you were supposed to be oh so principled,” he continued, speeding around the other side of her to make her turn again. He could see where his words hit, and he noted it – but he didn’t push it further. For now, anyway. “That’s rude. I am very fun. You wouldn’t know, because you haven’t taken a real day off in five years.” He zipped around the other side of her, standing close and smirking. “If you want, we can skip the rest of the day. And I will show you what a day off really looks like, eh Thirteen?”
»
♕ — “I don’t believe oh so principled has ever come out of my mouth. You know there’s a saying we have here about assumptions, maybe there’s one similar in Sokovia?” Carefully, she tucked her hands into the pocket of her hoodie and simply turned back around when he raced around her. She was used to that part of his antics by now, and most of the time expected him to use his powers in some way. Luckily for her, she kept light on her feet from her training, the years doing ballet, and other miscellaneous lessons her mother had put her through. “If I let you skip today, and let you show me whatever you want to show, allow you to believe that you’re actually teaching me something because I know you’re manly ego needs that,” she hummed, “then you do twice the training tomorrow, at Headquarters. With everyone else.”

♕ — “Oh, you mean when she snuck out again my own aunt’s orders, giving us no information on where she was going and for how long? Much like what you’re doing now,” Sharon countered with ease and raised a brow in his direction. If he didn’t realize it by now, she was perfectly capable of arguing each of his points all day. “We can only help if you let us to. This isn’t going to work if you still view us as the enemy.” As he spoke, she slipped the bag of sunflower seeds out of his grasp and simply slipped them into her own pocket before she simply jumped off the wall. “If you are done with your tantrum, Maximoff, it’s time for coffee, and you owe me one since this was supposed to be my day off.”
Pietro scowled, and let out a huff, but said nothing else. Sharon was always quick with a retort, always had some argument up her sleeve. When her words grew more serious, hit a deeper chord, he turned away. Glared at the ground. He was not some child, he didn't need a lecture. But he turned back when she moved, noting the sunflower seeds in her hand. "You say you are not my enemy and then you steal from me," he noted. "How strange this country is." But he rolled his eyes and sighed over-dramatically before hopping off the wall as well. "I don't see why I'm being blamed you working on your day off," he said, even as he led the way towards a nearby cafe. "You're a workaholic, you would have found some excuse to come in. Is that a Carter thing, or are you merely incapable of having fun?"

♕ — She let out a soft snort, not surprised that he noticed her snag the seeds from him. Pietro presented to the world only one side of him but she knew that he could be perspective when he wanted to be. To bad, it wasn’t very often. “Do tell me how much you spent on these, I’ll be sure to drop off the money to you once we’re back at Headquarters,” Sharon quipped as she turned and started to walk backwards now facing him. She didn’t say anything but she could feel a slight tension in her shoulders at his comment on her family. Admittedly, he was right, she did work too much. While her great-aunt worked hard to blaze a trail, Sharon worked hard to live up to expectations and to step out from under a shadow. “You’re not someone I would bring along to have fun with, Maximoff.”
& p. maximoff
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Pietro said, stiffening the second he felt her beside him. He spat another shell, hoping to annoy her away, but Sharon was much more persistent than SHIELD’s usual fodder. “Oh, are we close to where my sister was attacked?” he asked, the sarcasm thick as he turned to her. They were barely two blocks away. “Well, where SHIELD allowed her to be attacked,” he finished. “Have you come to drag me back to more useless training? I can already run circles around all of you. This feels like a much more productive use of my time,” he said, tossing a sunflower into the air and catching it between his teeth. He flashed her a cocky grin.

“This city is boring,” Pietro declared, from where he was sprawled on his back on a low stone wall. Despite the cold, he wore only his thin workout clothes, and heat radiated off him. He had run three laps around the city already this morning, in lieu of any official training. It was more efficient, and had the added benefit of avoiding all his so-called teammates. He flipped onto his stomach and dug a small sack of sunflower seeds (possibly lifted from a passerby earlier) out of his pocket. Popping one into his mouth, he waited until someone walked by, then spat the shell in their direction, trying to hit the back of their head. Not bothering to use his speed to hide it, just flashing a grin.

♕ — This was the part of the job that Sarada hated, the babysitting. She had gotten the alert that he hadn’t shown up for training again, and it took everything in her not to let out a frustrated scream. She had given him some space the last week and half since his sister was in the hospital wing but the fact of the matter was: he never showed up for training. With her curls still damp from her shower, she threw on the nearest clothing-- a Columbia University sweatshirt and some leggings-- and rushed out of her apartment to find the jerk. Luckily for her, she found him in one of the few places he’s repeated and she lifted herself to sit on the wall beside him. “You know, if I didn’t know better, I would think that you’re looking for a fight,” she commented as she looked down at him. “Or looking to have a certain assassin find you.”
