CDC - OPHSS - CSELS - Division of Laboratory Systems (DLS)
After December 31, 2021, CDC will withdraw the request to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of the CDC 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel, the assay first introduced in February 2020 for detection of SARS-CoV-2 only. CDC is providing this advance notice for clinical laboratories to have adequate time to select and implement one of the many FDA-authorized alternatives.
Visit the FDA website for a list of authorized COVID-19 diagnostic methods. For a summary of the performance of FDA-authorized molecular methods with an FDA reference panel, visit this page.
In preparation for this change, CDC recommends clinical laboratories and testing sites that have been using the CDC 2019-nCoV RT-PCR assay select and begin their transition to another FDA-authorized COVID-19 test. CDC encourages laboratories to consider adoption of a multiplexed method that can facilitate detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses. Such assays can facilitate continued testing for both influenza and SARS-CoV-2 and can save both time and resources as we head into influenza season. Laboratories and testing sites should validate and verify their selected assay within their facility before beginning clinical testing.
A guy in a Buffalo shawl came in and stole the podium from the Congress floor. You have any idea how hard the founding fathers are pissing themselves?
Ben Franklin would be laughing so hard... Sam Adams would buy them a beer.
John Adams would not be amused, but he would defend them in court.
The unfortunate elephant in the room.
“[I]f the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted. … If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.”
— Noah Webster
“[C]onsidering the natural lust for power so inherent in man, I fear the thirst of power will prevail to oppress the people.”
— George Mason
“Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children brought up easy let it slip away again; poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves.”
— D.H. Lawrence (1885-1938) English novelist

The reason that intellectuals can be so often wrong on political matters is because the sphere of politics is not about intelligence, it is about wisdom. Political matters can be intellectually analyzed, but they are ultimately answered by wisdom.
We no longer build Cathedrals, we tear down statues.

Most of academia is making shit out to be way deeper than it is tbh.
Almost nothing that is deep in real life exists in academia.
No wonder being in academia disconnects so many people from the real world.
The pandemic really turned people into hypochondriacs didn’t it.
We haven’t even begun to see all the various mental illnesses that will develop from exposing the entire population to a year and a half long media terror campaign…and the kids that have now fully internalized this shit as being okay and normal, man this is going to be something.
There have been many media terror campaigns in the past, but I can’t think of anything with the intensity and duration of this one…there’s been no escape from it, anywhere.
The people who have clearly, visibly been absolutely broken mentally by this are just the start, the most obvious victims of this…but I feel like the damage goes way deeper, in a lot of people who aren’t showing as many outward signs of insanity.
We are on the tip of the iceberg with the damage we’ve done to children–loss of schooling, lack of socialization, fear, stress, family issues, and much much more that’s not going to magically heal itself once they’re plunked back in school in the fall. Learning issues are going to be compounded by emotional and mental health issues, and some people aren’t ready to face the years of setbacks and problems we’ve gifted children because of this.
