Day 11 of learning to draw. Anatomy practice + my first background!!

Pretty happy with it, Denki needs some anatomy and proportion fixing, but im really excited abiut this drawing! If anyone had advice about lighting + how to colour it to look like the ligjt is coming in from that window is early morning light let me know 😁

added colour to Denki and Kirishima, I think I need to fix the shading, The lighting doeant look like its all coming from the left like I want- but I want to get a base layer down for the whole room before I start nitpicking. Still having fun!

Having fun- making some progress. Im just not really liking any of the colour. No brush textures I like and I'm still learning shading haha.

I'm really happy with how Tensei looks but Tenya just looks goofy lol. I'm either gonna re-draw him completely tomorrow or just remove him from there and put him standing back to back with Tensei.

Day 7 of learning to draw

did some random sketches to practice shading and colouring. I think these two had the most cohesive style to them of all my drawings so far, which was really fun!

Cant tell of I like outlining with black or a darker shade of the colour im outlining yet.

Im pretty happy with these two. Still lots to learn! Im having fun.

day 5 of learning to draw.

I have drawn my first kiss. Not super happy with how the colour is gping so far, but I've got a better idea of how the software I have works, and I'm learning my style. Its still a bit more realism-leaning than i'd like- and I'm struggling with poportions - but I'm still havimg fun and I think I'm drawing more now than I have in w long time!

Lots to learn, lots of room to grow. Very exciting!!!

Day 4 of learning to draw!

I got a proper digital art tablet! No more drawing on my phone with a shitty stylus. My friend had an old XP pen tablet that he wasnt using so I cooked him some food and we traded goods. Im so excited!! Ive mostly been exploring the new software today but im so happy with it and I feel like I've already learned so much in just 4 days.

Having the most fun yet!!!

you get a comment on tumblr. it's a bot trying to scam you. you get a DM. it's a bot trying to scam you. you get a message on instagram. its a bot trying to scam you. you're an author and you get an email telling you how much they loved your book and want to showcase it at their bookclub. it's a bot trying to scam you (and it uses bad AI to pretend it knows your story). you get a comment on ao3 saying how much they love your fic - and they made you fanart!! it's a bot trying to scam you. you get a hate comment on ao3 which insults your writing or calls you a monster for writing something "problematic". it's a bot. but at least that one isn't trying to scam you.

there's just something really cruel and insidious about this wave of scams going after creatives. You get an email and think someone genuinely loved what you made but - no. It's another scam. It's someone trying to trick you into sending them money. On AO3, it might literally just be a bot someone made specifically to be a hateful little shit.

putting the stuff you've made out there for everyone to see is hard and scary and we're all just bumping around looking for a bit of appreciation and love and connection and these bastards are using that to try to rob us. I hate it.

Day 3 of learning how to do digital art on my phone.

I'm pretty happy with how this one is looking so far. I think I have a better handle on how I want to draw certain features, like hair has been giving me a lot of trouble, but I quite like this as a rough example. I need to practice shading and ai think trying to edit this to look like a dark room could be good practice.

I think im starting to figure out where I want to go with developing a style.

Line art is rough too, working on that haha. Still having fun though so thats a success for me!

I keep jumping between drawings as i try to learn my own style. Not sure if I'll finish anyrhing until I get a handle on the tools and my own style. :)
