her brow raises at the mention of him being hurt by the general. certainly, if that were to happen at all, it’d be merely from the training — not intentional pain caused for the sake of it. “ i applaud you, kid. he’s no easy training partner. you must be able to really hold your own. ” she adds, shifting her weight onto her left hip, and adds an encouraging wink. “ hmm. you’re a little bit younger than the others, aren’t you? i was wondering why you hadn’t joined us on the mission to the dust mines. makes more sense now, seeing as the general wants to give you some extra attention. ”

she’s 45!
she’s certainly complicit in jacques’s actions and thusly indirectly contributing to the toxic atmosphere of her household. she’s aware of this and that’s why she doesn’t want her children to be stuck.
jacques has manipulated her to the point that she thinks her opinion and perspective are worthless, which causes her to never voice her thoughts to him or anyone around her. she almost doesn’t know how to talk about herself anymore.
sometimes she gets so bad she loses track of time. of hours, of days.
she actively avoids jacques. this includes staying in bed for as long as humanly possible ( some days never leaving her room at all ). she used to try to talk to him, reason with him about his children, but it always ended in screaming or slapping or arguments.
her drinking is pretty bad, coming in at least two bottles of wine a day. there’s always a bottle by her bed.
she sleeps separately from jacques. it was a mutual decision on both of their ends.
she has her own study, actually. she likes to write poetry and practice calligraphy.
an only child, she was heavily educated. read tons of textbooks. well read on remnant’s history and cultures.
discouraged heavily from learning how to fight, but she had the beginnings of a wonderful swordsman, and often sparred with personal trainers and guards hired by her parents.
played the piano and wrote poetry, won several competitions in both of these categories with her skill.
met jacques when she turned 17.
jacques won over her parents’ hearts, and hers too. she married ( and got pregnant with winter ! ) at the age of twenty.
having babies meant she wouldn’t have time to continue on learning her swordsmanship despite loving it dearly ( jacques discouraged her learning as well ).
willow was a stay at home mom but also made plenty of phone calls for her parents in the SDC before her ownership was essentially siphoned from her.
willow was unaware of the inner workings of the SDC once jacques took over because he separated it from her.
jacques and willow... well, willow married young, and jacques was a few years older. it was something of a grooming situation in which willow didn’t really see who jacques was. their relationship was rocky from the get go, and the physical violence started when winter was a mere toddler waddling around the schnee manor.
when their relationship was far younger, willow actually fought back once. jacques threatened to have her hospitalized for ‘insanity.’
having two additional children was actually willow’s idea, both times a silent plea for the light of a baby to somehow mend her ever-breaking relationship with jacques. jacques essentially saw it as more things that would keep her tied to him.
weiss’s 10th birthday rolled around, and willow was completely heartbroken. her drinking worsened, though her marriage had been suffering for years anyways. she hadn’t realized prior that he only married for his malicious intentions and never love. the man who’d made her swoon nearly 20 years earlier was foreign to her and at that point her learned helplessness was already ingrained into her system.
when things got physical, these beatings normally entailed slapping, grabbing her throat, wrists, waist, or arms in a violent manner, shoving her, and throwing items in her general direction.
willow could not fathom mothering 3 children healthily with jacques as her husband. klein helped her in the endeavor of raising her children and did much of the fathering and mothering role. willow helped where she could / was mentally able to. ( for example, she taught winter the basics of swordplay, but winter quickly outpaced her as a swordsman ).
now, she spends most of her time tending to plants, playing the piano, writing, and buying new swords at auctions ( only to have them placed on a rack on the wall for show ). her favorite is a longsword engraved with swirls of gold and a royal blue sapphire lion head embedded into the hilt.
she collects all kinds of pens. fancy, high tech ones, all the way to vintage pens that she has ink saved up for.
she also likes to donate money to atlas and beacon academies, where her daughters attend(ed), when jacques isn’t paying particular attention to the checkbooks that month.
when jacques is getting arrested in v7, willow just stands there and watches and frowns with her hands on her chest... you can just tell she still cares, despite everything? it’s sad to see how the cycle tosses her back and forth.

“ marrow mentioned you were kickin’ ass with your partner earlier on your missions, ” she notes. harriet pockets her scroll and stands up from her sitting position on the floor where she’d been taking a rest from training with ruby. grinning, she dusts herself off and stretches out worn - down legs, finally completely rising to meet the dragon’s level. “ i’m glad to hear it. he tends to... make assumptions before he actually knows what he’s looking at, so i’m glad you two proved him wrong. ”

“ ruby rose. ” she is colder, sharper - spoken than any of her children, a by - product of the marriage she’s been caged in for over twenty years. and despite all that, her face is softer than theirs, too. in that sense, willow schnee is like a freshly sharpened blade hiding in a cotton sheath. the mother always looks like she’s painfully considering what to say next, like she has a thousand thoughts racing through her mind at any given time — yet she always chooses to say so little. “ i feel relieved ... knowing that weiss has found home in you. ”

“ from what it looks like, the cells in your body are splitting into... well, splitting apart, ” harriet says in her study of ruby’s semblance. she’s spent the last twenty minutes watching ruby burst into petals and maneuvering around various objects, dim cyan glow of the training room lighting both their faces up. “ most speed semblances that i’ve seen revolve around boosting muscles or nerves that are already there. while yours makes you faster, i wouldn’t really call it... a speed semblance. i dunno... i’m no researcher, but maybe we could get someone to look into that. ”

" i know you didn’t do it, and i haven’t even used my semblance on you. ” robyn raises an eyebrow and sighs. no matter how deep a breath she releases, she can’t help but feel it was her own fault. amethyst eyes fall to the floor of their shared cell, still fussing with her electrical shackles on her wrists. she doesn’t say this often, but — “ ... i’m sorry, qrow. ” i should’ve never pulled that trigger.

“ so you’re training with the general personally, ” harriet states, though it is something of a question. she folds her arms, leans forward, and raises a blonde brow as she analyzes the dapper young man. “ from what i’ve heard, you’ve been doing well. does it stress you out at all ? ” well, that and the ‘ person inside your head ’ thing, she thinks.

she can’t actually have that much caffiene / sugar because if she crashes after her high, so does her semblance and she isn’t nearly as fast. so she has to keep herself on a very healthy diet so that she’s always ( heh ) up to speed.
that being SAID, she also has to eat A LOT because of how many calories her semblance burns. catch her getting 3-4 plates of every meal she has just to keep her energy up.
she’s an only child.

she, like clover, is a jock ( do i have a type? ). wears a lot of sports bras, wears compression shorts to sleep in as pjs, owns too many pairs of hightop basketball shoes.
when she’s not in uniform, catch her in hoodies, sweats, cutoff shirts, etc.
harriet... doesn’t actually have any close friends, to be honest. her snarky, confident attitude tends to make others intimidated and take a step back around her. she’s very work oriented though, so this doesn’t really bother her.
outside of a work setting, however, harriet can be playful and a bit of a flirt if she’s into you. she won’t put up with mind games or bullshit though, and is good at dropping people at the drop of a hat if they don’t treat her well.
she enjoys baking, taking nice long baths, singing, and gaming, but doesn’t really Have Time for these things. she knows that she’s kind of. a weapon now.
am i saying this because she’s based on a rabbit? ... maybe. ( coughs ) very high sex drive.
marrow’s semblance annoys THE SHIT out of her when she trains with the other aceops, because it forces her to stop moving — especially when she’s using her semblance, it tends to give her whiplash.
she definitely likes protecting people and gets fulfillment out of it but that wasn’t really... why she went into the military. she wanted to keep being The Best after she graduated, and the military only gave her an opportunity to Go Up until she hit the top.
she’s got godly control and mastery of her semblance. she can use it in bursts, but for long periods of time, so she is good for extended fights ( and as we saw vs ruby, great against people with large weapons who can’t fight in close proximity. i’d actually like to see her fight yang ! )

i see him being like an All American 3 sport high school athlete country boy. his apartment has like a garden and shit attached to it. he’d go hunting if he had the time for it.
when he’s not in uniform he’s in torn up jeans and boots and t-shirts, flannels, baseball caps, etc.
he has a 3 dogs! named rainbow ( a 3 legged golden retriever ), seven ( a shiba inu that looks like a toasted marshmallow ), and wishbone ( an OLD german shepherd who is Slow to get around ). yes its cheesy that they’re all named after lucky things, no he doesnt care.
he’s a trans man, bisexual w/ heavy preference for men!
had a wonderful home life with very loving parents who helped him transition!! he’s had top surgery.
i can honestly see him doing speeches at atlas academy graduation ceremonies and the like.
even though his job requires him to go in every day, he’s still always on call and could be called in at any point.
clover was a slacker in school when he was young, kind of a jerk and a selfish kid in academy. definitely your stereotypical jock, like i mentioned before. he intended on just relying on his semblance his whole life and never actually trying bc he had been so privileged in every other aspect of his life, he didn’t think he really needed to do much to succeed because of his luck. but then his mom, who was a huntress with a probability based semblance, died out in the field and it gave him a BIG wake up call. he suddenly realized... he wasn’t going to be able to ride his Special Semblance out all the way through his life. he knew his mother always gave it her all in her job, and even then, she failed. so it definitely made him realize he really had to apply himself. he was always an A-B student, but once he decided to actually try and apply himself, his potential went through the ROOF. he excelled and went on to become easily the best huntsman prospect in his class, and became a far more respectable, well-rounded person for it.
