I'm Atlex and this is just a little side blog for my bookish rambles!

I'm a reader and a writer!

I have several other blogs for my interest but I've been wanting to create a blog for books for a while now; hopefully, I actually use this one lol

Listen, I am sorry but....Celaena and Aeidon's chapters are the most interesting - I don't care for anyone else (okay, I kind of care about Dorian and Sorscha lol). I think this is why it's taken me 20 days to read this book (when normally it only takes me a week and a half, max, to read a book this size).

As someone who doesn't want her with Chaol or Dorian (and I'm very skeptical about Rowan rn)...when Ren asked Aedion if he would be King if Celaena asked him to be....sir....do it. Out of all the men I have met in this series so far....*do it*.

EDIT: I know they're cousins lol 1) I don't actually want her with him 2) to be fair, royal marriages between cousins is sort of a thing in history and in fantasy settings soooo and 3) it's literally stated that people in universe suggested it when they were younger (if it wasn't a canon suggested event to hint that cousin marriages happened, I wouldn't have made this post, which...is a joke lmao)

2nd EDIT: I know who she ends up with in the end I'm just giving funny little thoughts as I read the series lol

So, huh, was the Throne of Glass series inspired by GRRM's A Song of Ice and Fire Series/the Game of Thrones tv show? lol

Been reading "Heir of Fire" and it's fine, I'm getting through it.

But there are so many povs that it's almost putting me off?

Finished "Shatter Me" and all I'm gonna say is...

...1) still have a bad feeling about Adam lol 2) get you a man who loves you (obsesses over you?) like Warren and 3) is Omega Point gonna turn out to also be corrupt/evil like the ReEstablishment? Isn't that how most of these Dystopian novels/series go? lol

Guess I'll find out eventually lol

My library doesn't have physical copies of the rest of the series (and their site to share across other libraries in the state is down) sooo I had to buy a box set of the series online. It should be here this weekend.

Until then....time to decide what book to read next!

I'm about halfway through the 1st book and I dunno if I'm reading him wrong but…I have a lowkey bad vibe about Adam.

Am I wrong to have bad vibes? Does he actually care about Juliette?

And I'm thinking too much into things when I think it's a little too convenient that he knew Juliette when they were kids and was the only one Juliette considered nice and a (kind of?) friend and then dude just happens to show back up in her life by coincidence of Warner talking about her and wanting her as a part of his plan?

I somehow thought Aaron Warner's first name was Adam (which yes I spoiled myself and discovered Adam is his half-brother) and thus thought Adam was Warner and then was so confused when "soldier dude" was said to have the last name Warner on his uniform and Adam was referred to as Kent cause like "how the fuck is he in two bodies at once"?

I have started reading "Shatter Me". I know nothing about it, it was recommended to me and so here I am.

On chapter 4 and I'm intrigued, this should be fun lol

Finished "Your Knife, My Heart" by K.M. Moronova and I enjoyed it far more than I thought I was going to.

Now, I'm not a harsh rater of books that I read. If I can remain engaged with it, if it doesn't make me want to rip my hair out (aka, DNF it), and if the plot makes (enough) sense to me, it gets a good rating!

I rate this one a 4 out of 5 stars.

I love Mori and Emery. This book was different from practically anything else I've read. Both characters being killers and unapologetic about it (completely on Mori's part and mostly on Emery's) was something I hadn't witnessed in any book I've read to date. Besides like...books with knights and warrior like societies, that's different.

I'm looking forward to book 2 and the other books in this universe :D

Started reading "Your Knife, My Heart" and Mori/Cameron is giving me unhinged like GRRM's Ramsay Snow/Bolton from the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series lol

As I have read 2 of 7 (8 if including the Novella) of the Throne of Glass series and here are some opinions...

...I will not be pronouncing Chaol's name as "Kale/Chaos but with an L not an S)

...Nehemia lowkey annoys me (I don't know. I just feel like she's really pushy toward Celaena and if she knew who Celaena was all along, or had some feeling of who she was, then I dislike her even more. Like, your "friend" has trauma and Nehemia is over here acting (TO ME) coming off very dismissively of it all because Nehemia herself responds to situations differently than Celaena does. NO. Bad friend!

...I do NOT want Celaena to end up with Dorian OR Chaol. Please. No thanks.
