Steve, while talking to his crush (Eddie) at a party, spots Robin in the background having a moment with her crush (Vickie), gets his wires crossed, and ends up saying, “Yeah, that sounds boobies. I mean great!! That sounds great! Yes! Let’s do that.”
Eddie is left thinking that he’s just asked his very straight crush (Steve) out on a date and the guy was just too nice to turn him down.
I decided Steve's family has a big old leather couch that his dad loves to keep clean. Eddie has other ideas *cackles evilly*
the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.
btw this is maybe the single most key distinguishing feature of the terfy strains of radical feminism, the seed all the rest of it springs out of: they have absolutely no faith in the ability of feminism to actually destroy patriarchy. they do not think feminism can truly build a better world. they cannot really even imagine that possibility. they think patriarchy is an inevitable natural consequence of unchangeable biological facts, and therefore the goal of feminism can only be to mitigate the worst effects of patriarchy, not to get rid of it.
they can imagine a society where women get some designated safe spaces without men around. they cannot imagine a society where the presence of men is not inherently a danger to women.

Hello friends I must, unforgivably, blaze a post that is not just pictures of my dog (DOG PICTURES AT THE END I SWEAR).
I work for my local humane society. I started by volunteering for just a few hours a week, but this has become my absolute life. The dogs we work with are absolutely incredible, and our local community has truly answered the call when it comes to the things we need for our dogs. From vet fees to food, our dogs are taken care of. The employees on the other hand...
We're essentially running on hopes and dreams. Our work computer died recently and we had to really shell out for a new one. It feels really weird having to ask for help for us and not directly the dogs, but if we dont have the things we need, we cant help the dogs.

I've been so off tumblr lately that my queue has run dry... Rough year so far. If anyone wants to light a candle for
my husband to get a permanent job so we don't have to move/could actually afford to if we wanted
puppy's uti to clear up/heat to finish soon/spay surgery next month to go smoothly
one of the cats to turn out to not have kitty asthma after all
my grandpa, who recently passed out in church while still sitting down, which is a new one
FIL to get out of the hospital/actually change his diet so this doesn't keep happening (again)
my back to stop hurting
me not catching the cold my husband currently has (or not, whatever, I'm probably getting it, I'm resigned)
my sanity in general
