summary: Daisy's been ignoring the lingering aftershocks of their falling out for years, but but sitting with her hockey team, she still notices Arielle staring from across the cafeteria

Daisy was very aware of how important the social side of things were to her chances of being captain of the hockey team next year. She could also be reassured that her best friend also had other friends, and wouldn't be sitting alone at lunch, as she carried her tray over the table of athletes in various uniform, the school colours standing out above everyone else. Despite loving sports her whole life, and logically understanding that she'd end up sitting with her teammates, she never quite comprehended that she now counted as part of the popular crowd. Daisy from five years ago could've called it immediately, but now she was in those shoes she'd once dreamt of, it didn't feel quite the same. They seemed too big to fill.
Arielle had years to bask in rage. At her lowest, the people who'd promised they were her best friends had insulted her, and abandoned her. It had taken years to scrape a semblance of self-worth back, and now she finally had a few friends, real friends, she'd never let anyone do her that dirty again. She'd gone off campus to grab a toasted panini from the cafe down the street, and it was just starting to go cold as she watched Daisy saunter across the cafeteria to her new popular friends. At least she'd done better for herself than the fake crowd of cheerleaders and footballers, Arielle thought, looking ot Jocelyn on her right, and glancing over Corrinne and Maddie. Real friends were better than many any day.
Daisy would be lying if she claimed she hadn't noticed Arielle's glare of daggers across the room at her. Not just today, but every day or near enough, for years. It was practically routine now, but routine didn't make it any more comfortable. Each step she took felt like walking away that day all over again, but there was nothing to do for someone who chose aggression time and time again. She still felt guilty like it was all still fresh. Arielle wouldn't cross her though, the closest she'd ever got was this back and forth every opportunity she had.
She'd spend all the time she had left in this place making sure they knew what they'd done to her. Forever didn't mean anything, it turned out. They'd know. Daisy couldn't hide in the hockey team forever.

Original characters only! Fandom OCs are fine, but the characters within the dynamic must be OCs.
Make something (writing, visual art, some other creation) with a given prompt, then post it on Tumblr during OC Dynamics Month and use the hashtag #ocdynamicsmonth26. Interpret the prompts freely and include as many OCs within the dynamic as you wish!
You can post your work late, for example you can post your creation for Day 1 on Day 15 if you want! All I ask is that you don't post them early.
There are no strict rules for what content is allowed. However, I may choose not to reblog something if I feel that it goes against the spirit of the event (AI generated content, hateful content etc). Including content warnings for heavy topics is encouraged!
Event is over but you still want to do the prompts? No worries, keep working on the daily prompts or fill the bonus prompts if you wish! I'll keep reblogging posts for a while after the event is over.

Prompt guide
Each main prompt contains a type of relationship and an adjective. You can fill a day's prompt in one of 3 ways (using the first prompt as an example): 1. use only the type of relationship → make a piece about ex-friends, 2. use only the adjective → make a piece about ocs with a powerful dynamic OR 3. use both → make a piece about ex-friends who have a powerful dynamic.
This year, the bonus prompts are dialogue prompts. You can combine or swap them with main prompts or just do them in addition to the main prompts! You can use the exact wording, tweak it to fit your piece, or simply use the dialogue to inspire your work without using it directly.
i get so emotional every time i think about fanfic culture. it's just so beautiful that people are writing and anonymously posting these thousand-word stories about characters we all love and not even getting any money or public fame from it. it's literally just for the love of the game.
shout out to everyone who participates in fanfic culture, be it reading or writing fanfics. you are contributing to such a lovely thing <3
one genre of fanfiction that seems to have mostly disappeared since i became an adult is shenanigans-type fics. like not exactly crack but just "the gang goes to 7-11" type, extremely low-stakes plot stories. the beach episodes of fanfiction. i just feel like i don't see those around so much anymore. whered they go. i miss them :(
Emilia's parents never actually got divorced, nor actually even considered it, but there were a few months when she was 19 that it certainly seemed like their relationship was heading that way. Her reaction was to take care of her siblings and attempt to stop them from noticing what was going on. She spent more time cleaning around the house, and cooked for her family more frequently in an effort to make things seem 'fine' where she worried her parents wouldn't. She also spent a lot more time with her siblings, either at home doing some kind of activity like homework or video games or crafts, or going out usually for a drink and snack of some kind.
