BeLieve it or not I did not start using a tĀ„ping quirk because of Homestuck. WhiLe I did start hĀ„perfixating on Homestuck around the same time as starting to use mĀ„ tĀ„ping quirk, the two are surprisingLĀ„ compLeteLĀ„ unreLated events.
I started using one because I was bored. And one of mĀ„ friends had one and used it aLL the time. So I started using one too after a coupLe months after I became friends with them. But again, it wasn't just because of them. It was mostLĀ„ because I was bored. Like verĀ„ bored. And wanted to change something up in mĀ„ Life, maĀ„be do something chaLLenging untiL I get so used to it, it becomes normaL to me.
So Ā„eah, I decided that I wouLd change the waĀ„ I tĀ„ped. And because I had aLwaĀ„s had a Love for L33tsp34k, 1t L00k3d 4 L1ttl3 s0m3th1ng l1k3 th1s....horribLe, right? awfuL. So I stopped doing that after a week. About a coupLe weeks went bĀ„ I think,,, and I started using one again, though I thought I wouLd just trĀ„ to be a bit more subtLe about it.
So I just started with capitaLizing everĀ„ L. AfteraLL, it was easier to read and discern capitaL I from Lowercase L if aLL of mĀ„ Ls were capitaL. And then after not too Long, I would use the Ā„en sĀ„mboL for the normaL Letter Y. AfteraLL, peopLe write that sLash through the Letter Z aLL the time, so I thought whĀ„ not. It's basicaLLĀ„ the same thing. It took me a coupLe daĀ„s to get the hang of it.
I have now been using it for about more than a Ā„ear at this point. MĀ„ muscLe memorĀ„ of tĀ„ping is straight up wired to tĀ„ping Like this. To tĀ„pe normaLLĀ„ for a proLonged amount of time is verĀ„ stressfuL. It wracks mĀ„ brain and after a whiLe I just give up and tĀ„pe the waĀ„ that I'm used to. I do write essaĀ„s Like this but I use the find and repLace function in GoogLe Docs to remove/edit it.
TĀ„ping Like this is aLso a whoLe part of mĀ„ identitĀ„. It's what peopLe first notice when theĀ„ speak to me onLine. It's what peopLe first notice before theĀ„ even get to know me onLine. It's a part of mĀ„ identitĀ„ irL too since I text aLL of mĀ„ friends and sibLings Like this. (Not mĀ„ parents I don't text them for verĀ„ Long tho.)
I am programmed to tĀ„pe Like this. I am programmed to repLace normaL texting with this sĀ„stem. To not tĀ„pe Like this is to reject that programming. I can't suffer anĀ„ more pain for rejecting anĀ„ sort of programming that I have.
