i think humans are meant to lay in bed with the love of their life all winter.
the beautiful family history of klingers cross dressing to get out of the army continues to grow. this is so sweet.
what day is it
always fucking some day or another around here
the thing is that everyone does actually want the skill set that comes with a humanities degree but a) they refuse to acknowledge that actual WORK goes into acquiring those skills and b) they want to do it all without actually reading a book

There is no way of accidentally doing a nazi salute twice in a row while the entire world is watching. This man needs to be killed
And I mean he does need to be killed. I remember a time when the obvious and most socially acceptable answer to what you would do if you could travel back in time was to kill Hitler before he rose to power. That is just what everyone said. Saying that nazis and fascism are bad was not seen as a controversial opinion it was simply a fact. This was not a long time ago and I am sure the vast majority of people reading this remember this as well. Elon Musk needs to be killed. Obviously.
everyone loves Predynastic Egyptian Terracotta Bowl with Human Feet. shout-out to a real one
It looks like it would be so excited to run over when you needed a bowl
Got distracted. Saw a cool bug
chavis mármol, "untitled destruction project," 2024, nine-ton quarry stone replica of colossal olmec head dropped on blue tesla model 3
The fact that Tesla autopilots abort self driving 1 second before a crash so the company can state “self driving wasn’t active during the collision” should be grounds to dismantle the entire company.
Like, seriously, if you’re making 4000 pound death machines, and you program this shit to work on a technicality? Your company should be dismantled. Gone. No recourse. Just terrible shit dude
Yeah what
since it’s a scary time to be trans: refuge restrooms is an app which maps gender-neutral/single-stall restrooms. it’s community-mapped, so it’s possible you might be the first person to log the restroom locations, but hopefully it’ll help some people.
please reblog this post if you’ve got trans followers. stay safe.
For my non-trans followers: please consider getting the app just so you can add neutral restrooms to the map when you run across them. Simple way to help.
This is absolutely still a thing, for anyone wondering!
We keep each other safe! This is one way to help, whether you’re trans or not!
also, when available, remember that you can use bathrooms such as family bathrooms if they make you feel more comfortable. there's not always going to be gender neutral bathrooms available in some areas (esp. the rural south) so make use of the spaces that do exist.
and remember, libraries are general safe spaces. it may feel just hard to have a safe space in general right now, but I've genuinely never met a mean librarian.
we keep us safe, this may mean removing identity tags from META-based social media. this may mean being especially careful about exposing someone else's identity. we're walking into a scary world, no one knows exactly how far it will go. but in general, if it can be avoided, don't answer any questions about sexuality/gender on official documents such as medical documents or make yourself easily identified by the government. we might see our lives go underground in a sense, so it's important to have established, safe queer networks around you. and use signal if you feel uncomfortable texting because it is not traceable.

reminders for today:
if you or someone you know might need it in the next few years, purchase plan b. the shelf life of plan b is 4 years, and we might not be able to access it as easily as we can now in the days ahead.
if you are larger/plus size: go online and purchase ella instead of plan b. plan b is less effective if you aren’t under 160 pounds.
if you can, purchase books that project 2025 is looking to ban.
mass deportations are starting. if you see ice vehicles or agents, yell ice raid and la migra as loud as you can.
if someone asks who you voted for, keep your mouth shut. they’re fishing for traitors.
if anyone, anyone at all asks about your neighbors or their legal status in the us, you know nothing. don’t be the reason that their family is separated.
if anyone asks about your religion or lack thereof, keep it vague. this administration will look for any excuse to persecute you.
your friends are trans or queer? for the next four years they’re not. don’t expose anyone’s status as a trans or queer person to anyone else, even if you think you can trust them.
did someone you know get an abortion? no, they didn’t. they were never pregnant.
in short, don’t be a snitch, and keep to yourself these next four years. we’ll make it through this even if it seems hopeless at times.
this is all i can think of at the moment, but i’ll be adding on to this as the day continues.
we can survive this. we’ve survived before, and we’ll survive again.
also, if you're interested in tubal ligation- most insurances cover it 100% as part of birth control or you can do an IUD that lasts about 5 years (but they can be painful during insertion). long term birth control is a great option going forward and keeping stock of even condoms and things you think they would never take away...they might take away.
