Hi!

My name is Neyht. I created this blog to collect and share some interesting pieces of lore / dialogue hidden in-game.

Why create this blog?

Firstly, I created this blog because Aion has some very rich pieces of lore and information that most people don’t read or care enough about to read in-game. This is my attempt to document these pieces of information and to make them easily accessible to others (fans of the lore, fanfic writers, roleplayers, etc).

Second, I created this blog to write down my journey playing through the game because I was bored, and because it may give me the motivation to actually reach the levelcap.

What server do you play on?

Currently playing on a private server located in Europe (version 4.6).

How long have you been playing?

Started to play Aion around 2012-2013, half a year before 4.0 launced on NA servers. I mostly played on and off throughout the years, and I remember enjoying the game most in its 4.6-4.8 era. 

Stopped playing on the official servers when 5.8 launched and haven’t played there since.

Tell us more about yourself and about this blog?

This blog is for entertainment purposes only. I’m not with any of the Aion officials nor am I connected to any of the private server’s development teams.

I’m 21 years old. I recently finished my degree in Social Work and I’m currently unemployed. I’ll be starting my next college course in September 2022.

Asmodians or Elyos? And what class do you play?

Both! I enjoy playing both. My first toon on the NA servers was an Elyos Ranger, but I really enjoyed playing on my Asmo Chanter, which I considered my main.

Currently playing Elyos (SM) but I’m planning to create an Asmo toon as well in the near future.

Krall, Kobolds and Worship

While most Krall worship the Balaur, most Kobolds worship the elements of nature.

Daevas: Ascension

Apparently, some Elyseans try to trigger Ascending through starving themselves and “putting themselves through all kinds of suffering”.

The Disciples of Kalil

This small bit of in-game dialogue of an NPC located in Verteron Citadel suggests exactly that what the game seemed to be going for with the introduction of Sarpan: the unification of the Elyos and the Asmodian people.

Interesting! The name ‘Kalil’ is going to be one I have to keep in the back of my mind.

Daevas: Elyseans vs Asmodians and Flight

Hynops of Verteron, an Elysean Daeva located just below the Verteron Abyss Gate, seems to insinuate that Asmodian Daevas have excellent flight capabilities; even more so than the average Elysean Daeva.

Asmodians adapting to their environment is what they’re best known for. It’s a keypoint in the Elysean campaign quests that the Elyos are now at a point where they, too, will have to adapt in order to survive their increasingly hostile environment (see the Eltnen questline).

Daevas: mental capabilities

According to Nestor in the Library of the Sages, Daevas never forget and can remember everything clearly - but, like any Human, they may lie, cheat or twist the truth.

Sanctum: (no) Humans allowed

Only Elysean Daeva’s receive full permission to visit Sanctum, with a “few favoured Humans” as well. 

Interestingly, NO Human is allowed to walk the Divine Road.

I haven’t made my Asmo toon yet, but I don’t remember Asmodae’s capital being so restricting towards Humans.
