The very fine singing and arrangement from the New York Vocal Collective gives this evergreen song new life.
Paul McCartney said that the 1968 song was inspired by hearing a blackbird call during the night in Rishkikesh, India, a Hindu pilgrimage situated on the Ganges river. and by the civil rights movement in the United States. The accompaniment for "Blackbird" was inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach's lute piece, Bourrée in E minor. Enjoy the performance below by John Williams.
