One of my favorite things to do is stay under a blanket for most of the day and enjoy the heat being on. It’s ten times better if the fireplace is on and I have some tea or hot chocolate. You’re doing it smart, not that I don’t love a good shopping trip but when it’s cold it’s nice to be able to shop online. Makes me really thankful for technology this time of year. I never mind the cold until it’s time to get from under my covers. Do I still go on the list if I’m meaning to watch it but haven’t yet…it’s on my list. What are you going to put in our stockings if we don’t make the nice list. I’m pretty much almost done, just a couple of people I can’t decide on yet.

Right?! It’s the perfect thing to do especially this time of year. Who needs to go out in the cold when we can do it in the comfort and warmth of our own homes? Although, I admit I do like to walk through the town this time of year just for the decorations everywhere. I’m more of an Halloween girl but it’s hard not to get into the Christmas spirit. I’ll put you on the nice list just because you’re going to watch it. Anyone who doesn’t make the nice list gets a Furby and we all know they’re the true evil of this world. Teach me your ways, Lily. I’m awful at gift shopping.

That’s what I’m doing…except I’m mostly online shopping for me, the most important person in my life. It’s really not worth it to get out of bed most days, you know, I’ve heard it’s just…a bad choice. Hopefully that’s what you’ll get for the holidays…rest. I like the way you think. Other than kids, who else deserves to be spoilt more than yourself? Nobody, that’s who. Oh, I know. If I didn’t have to get up I wouldn’t. Winter is basically my hibernation time. I mostly stay indoors and if you ever see me out and about then it’s a very rare sighting. Plenty, James, plenty. I’m very disappointed that my naughty list has no names so far. I’ve not started at all yet but today I will. Maybe.

I know that unpacking seems more and more unneeded. Can’t I use the collection of boxes as warmth? My box couch and box bed, I’m sure it can retain heat and keep it in. At this point, I’m highly considering not finishing it. Hell, I hope that friends think it’s super impressive that I managed to make furniture out of boxes. Sure, I may have to dig out the plates from the bathroom, but. Oh. You bet I’ve watched ‘Happiest Season’ and I loved, loved it. Very jealous you worked with Kristen Stewart, she’s an angel. Christmas shopping? That’s a good question. I have the lists made on Amazon, but I have yet to order. I do want to go out on the town and get some small business items. Who knows?

Pfft, who needs real furniture anyway? I’m all for living the box life. Cats love boxes so there must be something comforting about them. Cats are smart — they must know something we don’t know about them. You know what, Lucy? I think it’s impressive and that’s all that matters. Kristen is the best and I’d work with her every single day of my life if I could. I’m a procrastinator when it comes to Christmas shopping. I’ll put it off for as along as I can because gift giving isn’t really my speciality.

This might be the one year that I’ve actually been excited to go out and do some Christmas shopping, because somehow buying little baby toys is more exciting than grown-up things…? But trust me when I say that curling up on the couch with my fuzzy socks, a cup of coffee and a warm blanket while browsing through endless online shops is absolutely still the main way I’m getting shopping done this year! Don’t worry – Happiest Season is on my watch-list for this holiday, so we’re good, I’ll stay on the nice list. If anyone has all of their shopping done… yeah, no, they’re not really human, I’m convinced.

Oh, I bet! Getting to buy toys and fun stuff is so much more exciting than buying bath bombs or socks for people. I’m jealous you get to have the fun side of gift shopping now! There needs to be more babies in my family so I can buy toys. It’s so much easier doing it online! The only thing is I get distracted and end up looking at completely different things than I originally want especially if I’m on Amazon. I can browse that for hours. This is why you’re one of the best, Claire. Let me know what you think when you finally get around to seeing it. Right? And, if they have got it all done, they should be sharing their powers with us. How excited are you for your little ones first Christmas, though?

Now that it’s hit winter, the idea of staying at home warm in front of the fire the whole time is more and more appealing. Forget going out to do my Christmas shopping — I’m doing it all online wrapped in blankets and drinking hot chocolate. Also, don’t know about anyone else but I find the colder it gets, the less I want to get out of bed in the morning. It’s a real struggle but press for Happiest Season just finished so I can sleep in all I want. By the way, if you haven’t seen it yet then it’s the naughty list for you. Not Santa’s but mine. That’s much worse. How far along are you with Christmas shopping, though? If anyone already has it all done then you’re too powerful for this Earth.

You’re right about that, maybe it woul’ve been a great closing once and for all. I have to say that I’m slow to process witty responses, I’m not the best with them but I pride myself on having ended the relationship with as much dignity as possible. I didn’t want to leave enemies behind, but this woman was impossible. I have thought about soundproofing the room, I searched the internet the other day and am deliberating the possibility. I moved to downtown, what about you? Where do you currently live?

You’re a much better human being than me. I would’ve been as petty as I could be so kudos to you for dealing with those crappy ass neighbours for so long. You’re a real saint. Soundproofing isn’t a bad idea, though. Just don’t only do it in one room or people might think you’re up to some shady shit. Nice! I’m downtown, too. It’s always been my favourite part of town.

My last day in London wasn’t as nostalgic as I thought it was going to be. I burst opened the door only to find my irritating neighbour outside, that seemed a tad premeditated because her intentions were most likely to vomit a few complaints my way, when she promptly noticed me holding a box with “ABBA and others” written on it I stored all my vinyls in for the move. This person, who used to kick up a fuss over literally everything during the five years that I had lived there intermittently, gave me one of those forced smiles and said she didn’t take me for a cultured person. Then I knew that, saving the man who brought me mince pie when he found out I was departing, I won’t miss anyone in those flats block. I hope these walls aren’t paper-thin because one more single complaint about me being irrationally loud and I’ll blow a fuse. If anyone is willing to bring me a welcome platter with mince pie I’ll receive it with open hands. I’m Lily, your newly arrived neighbour.

You missed a great opportunity to give them one last witty comeback. Like, you could’ve gone all out and they wouldn’t have been able to do anything because you’d be gone. You did it! You’re finally married and I couldn’t be happier for the two of you. Knowing you both has and still remains such a pleasure and I’m very, very thankful to consider the two of you some of my best friends. I’m so honoured that you included me in your big day and it’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

I think we all want to find love like the two of you have and it’s so beautiful to see two people who genuinely adore the heck out of each other. Cliche but you really are perfect together.

Now, I’m not the best with gifts on any ordinary day so for a wedding, oof. But, I tried my hardest just for you two. The first is just a little cute thing for you to put up in your house to remind you of the best day of your lives or to hide in the attic until I come over then you’ll rush to get it out and act like it’s been there the whole time. We all do it, it’s okay. I’ll only hate you a little bit. The second gift is something that I thought was just really nice. It’s a little wedding package, and, well it explains it all on the little slip of paper with it.

Lastly, I wanted to make a donation to your charity, Emilia. I know how important SameYou is to you so I’ll be making a pretty hefty donation to help out.

To the lovely ladies who have been by my side the last few months, I can’t thank you enough for all the support, endless conversations, and amazing time you’ve made this become. They say you can’t get married without a partner, and of course – that’s a fair statement, but you can’t get married without some of the best girls around. Coming to Bayview and meeting some of you have added pieces to my life that I didn’t know was missing. Others I’ve known for years now and life wouldn’t be the same if I hadn’t gotten the chance to meet you when I did. Don’t for one second think that you don’t make a very special impression in my life, because each and every one of you do. 

Which means that I wanted to give a little spoiling where it’s much deserved. So while we’ll be sipping on mimosas this morning, and attemping to keep my scatterbrain straight, I wanted to give you a little bit of luxury. Starting with these gorgeous silk robes that we can all lounge around in before it’s time to get ready. These beautiful crystal earrings to wear with your dresses today to have a little extra sparkle, and the last two gifts were just a little extra from me to you. The locket is a vintage inspired necklace and open it up and yes, I’m extra enough to have gone to find photos of each and every one of us. Now, the picture doesn’t need to stay in there, but wanted to fill it with a little something until you fill it with your own hopes and dreams. Writing has always been a passion of mine, and it has helped me so much in the last few years, so for a little practicality I added this gorgeous leather wrapped journal for anything and everything you could imagine. 

Once again, thank you for being by my side today, I couldn’t picture today without you and hope these add a little extra something to your day.

You know those weeks that just don’t stop? This is one of those weeks, although for once I’m not complaining! Had the best day ever with my babies yesterday for my birthday (I’m 21 as far as anyone’s concerned), Grey’s seventeenth season premieres tomorrow so there’s all the buzz with that but, perhaps most excitingly, my eleven year old came to me with the news that there’s going to be a Meredith Grey Pop Funko. I… really don’t know what that means, but she has a few from her favorite TV shows and movies and apparently I’m officially a cool mom for having one made in my likeness. Who knew? @townofbayview​

That feels like my life these past few weeks. Thankfully, I have a bit of time off now. I’m so behind on Grey’s, I really need to catch up but all of that sounds like fun times. I know there’s an April Ludgate Pop Funko out there which is always surreal to see. You, obviously, need to get yourself a little Meredith Grey.

Thank you, she really is. I’m doing ok, sore, but ok. She’s doing really well, she’s feeding often, she’s going through nappies like i never thought possible, and she’s so alert. She does this thing when she’s about to go to sleep where she stares off into space for about ten seconds, makes a ‘ehh’ sound, then thats it, she’s over to sleep. It’s cute.

Hopefully you’re taking it as easy as you can right now. You know if you need anything then I’m around. Just give me a call whenever. She sounds adorable!

A control freak’s worst nightmare? Having a crazy amount of boxes that still need to be unpacked. I got so overwhelmed that I’m on my second bottle of wine and starting to see double. I’m such a lightweight. At least Hozier’s soothing voice in the background is helping me stay calm. Now the question is, could I bribe someone into helping me with this hideous task? I can offer wine or whiskey and homemade pasta… but I’m willing to negotiate the terms. Oh, and I’m Sophia.   / @townofbayview​

This sounds like my worst nightmare and I, honestly, would’ve caved into the wine after about five minutes. This is why I refuse to move ever again. I can’t be dealing with unpacking boxes any more. I refuse. But, hey, if you have some wine to spare, I’ll come help out. That’s all it takes to get this gal’s attention.
