june
days shimmer iridescent heat with the lustre of grandma’s pearls
hand-knotted to summer, waves lap nostalgic, to be carefree
where a cerulean sky matches the sea with delphinium and larkspur sighing blues
we walk backwards through sugar sand as time slows
into kokomo summer songs sipped with mai tai sunsets
my favorite month, a twirl of 30 aquamarine days in a song
that stretches into moon shadows following you into dreams
a slow dance
