it had happened so quickly, she hadn't meant to get caught up in the chaos.. The sounds of screams from the public yet all mary-jane was trying to do was protect a little girl who was stood screaming in fear. "-no" mj shouted as she leapt in front of the girl taking her into her arms and setting her to her parents who quickly ran off from the mayhem that was unfolding.

Yet as she went to make her way away from the people, the sounds of cracking could be heard, she tried to duck but she was simply too slow. Her head had been whacked against a dangling metal pole instantly knocking the redhead out and with such force she fell from ledge.

" someone catch her! " an onlooker called out in witnessing the young woman plummet to the concrete. The blood upon the side of her head trickled down her face, body felt like lead, yet mary-jane knew subconsciously that even as she fell, no one would be able to catch her in time apart from their friendly neighbourhood hero.

she should have run, she should have done what was told of her but mj couldn’t let a little girl be injured, it wasn’t her nature. Her body lay still even as he caught and landed using his body as a cushion. Arms lay limp over his body, her head resting against his chest. Inside she was screaming to wake up, yet further and further she felt herself drown into darkness.

She could hear everything around her, feel everything, his arms wrapped around her body.. Yet her eyes didn’t open, the blood trickling now under her chin yet she couldn’t feel the pain, not yet..

Finally her eyes opened, everything was blurred at first and she felt as if she was lifting a tonne to just move her arms.. Yet as her eyes focused, blue eyes laid upon Peter and a small smile was on her features “.. Hey tiger” she muttered, body feeling weak, voice croaking a little.

When MJ finally opened her eyes Peter’s entire body deflated with relief. He didn’t know whether to be proud of her or strangle her for scaring him. “Hey Red.” he said softly, moving his hand down to brush his fingers against her cheek. “You scared the hell out of me.”

He let out a breathless laugh, “You’re gonna be okay. Im proud of you...I really am, but maybe next time leave the heroics to those who have super powers huh?” her asked, careful to keep his voice down.

mary-jane looked toward Peter feeling a weak smile form on her features. "I did what anyone else would have done" saving the child's life mj didn't even have to think about it. She gave a nod either way, head throbbing from where she had been hit. ".. Perhaps you're right" She leaned into his touch, moving her hand to clasp over his own.

Her head looked up as she heard the whirl of the glider, the goblin was back.. But how had he escaped prison? The screams of the civilians filled her ears after the slight ringing had subsided. Mary-jane went to get to her feet, stumbling a little as her head spun.. She was sure she had a concussion. Her body ached, everything ached.

It was only then did she hear something fall straight for her, the metal of the bridge was beginning to collapse further, the redhead jumped out of the way before it could hit her feeling the adrenaline kick back in, rolling a little as she jumped, trying to make her way back to Peter. It was getting dark, the sunset beginning to fall creating a golden hue across the sky. MJ reached her hand out towards him though just as she was seconds away she felt something.. No someone else had pulled her away. Harry had quickly grabbed mary-jane away from Peter, gripping her by the waist as he forced her onto his glider. ".. Let go of me! "

If I don’t I just feel like I am in the dark”

❝Can’t expect you to never check out the news especially when serious things are happening that involve me.❞ Only reason he’d ever told her not to was because cameras could only catch so much. At times what she saw could cause her more worry than not knowing. ❝You aren’t the only one who worries sometimes but I have far less of a reason. Every now and again you’ll go out and I’ll just have this overwhelming feeling that I should be there to make sure you’re okay.❞

Maybe it was because of the sort of stuff that he dealt with on a normal basis. Could be the personal losses he’d taken since getting his powers that made it hard to believe anyone around him could ever truly be safe. No matter the reason there were times where she was non stop on his mind. Where he wanted to call just to check in on her. But she was a big girl, she had a boyfriend not a bodyguard.

she understood his concerns, of course she did. "I understand tiger" mj replied giving him a warm reassuring smile. "you have saved my life quite a few times" wrong place and wrong time usually, but he was always there to make sure that she was safe and she would be forever grateful for that. "without you looking out for me... I'm just glad that you do" It was true, just like every other person that Peter had saved, yet to mary-jane it was deeper than a superhero catching her, it was her boyfriend making sure she didn't fall.

Mary-jane kept her gaze upon Peter, even in moments like these she treasured the small moments, the conversations whether that was light hearted or on a more serious tone. "At the end of the day if you come home to me, whether battered or bruised, or completely fine.. I'm happy"

❝We’re allowed to talk about it, MJ.❞ When things got bottled up it helped no one involved, best to air out concerns. Even if there wasn’t much that can be done about them. Peter was Spider-Man, at times that fact was difficult for him to swallow and he’d been living that double life since he was fifteen years old. Sure MJ might have known what she was signing up for but that never meant she couldn’t come to him about what bothered her about it.

Letting his body shift a bit he leaned over to rest his head on her shoulder. ❝Not like we can go to anyone else about this stuff, well, at least we don’t have too long of a list. And none of the options are as funny as me, couple of them barely have a sense of humor. ❞

She caught his gaze for a moment feeling a slight grin form on her features. “You’re welcome tiger, no, not at all. At least your face isn’t, looks like you could have fallen over rather than punched” She reassured gently, gathering up the rubbish throwing it in the bin before putting the first aid away.

“You look handsome as ever Petey, don’t you worry” mary-jane sat herself down upon the sofa beside him, legs curling up to her chest as she arms wrapped around them to bring them in closer to her body.

❝So the good ol’ clumsy Parker routine would still work? Got it.❞ With that said he relaxed into the couch slowly, allowing himself to get comfortable. With his wounds dealt with he was hoping that New York city would stay together without more intervention from the web head today, he could use a few hours to decompress. ❝Hope that I didn’t worry you too much.❞

Peter always suggested that she stay away from the news and social media if she could when he was in a fight, a real one. One that was more than the run of the mill purse snatcher or jewelry store thief. Couldn’t say if she took that advice to heart or not. Can’t say he would be surprised if she didn’t.

Carefully MJ dabbed at his face first wiping away the dried up blood before putting it back into the water. She took one antiseptic wipe, carefully cleaning the wound on his cheek. That one didn’t need stitches, barely needed a plaster. Eyes looked over towards Peter, blue hues looking to brown ones. “Wouldn’t it? ” She teased lightly, feeling a smirk form across her features. She went back to the cloth, one hand placing gently upon his shoulder as the other first cleaned the cuts upon his chest and torso, before going back with an antiseptic. A small frown on her features as she concentrated.

“Medical dramas? Hm, perhaps” A few needed the paper stitches, she gently pushed the skin together placing three to hold it together. There wasn’t a lot she could do about the bruises those would have to heal on their own. “Well, I think that’s you done tiger..” Mary-Jane assessed her handy work, arms folding over her chest giving a slight tilt of her head.

Small pains while she worked was impossible to avoid. At the very least he would have to contend with the stinging feeling that came with the cleaning of the cuts, nothing he couldn’t ignore. Being able to talk with her while she worked did help keep his mind off of it. That way he wouldn’t end up flinching. ❝I mean you’d probably be in that for the long haul, those things tend to last a few years. How long has Grey’s Anatomy been on the air again?❞

She gathered the first aid box which she made sure was constantly full, then filling a bowl with hot water and a clean cloth. “Good because I wasn’t going to give you much of a choice” A kiss placed upon his cheek, dipping the cloth in the water. “Right, come on tiger, top off” She would have to treat his cuts first, getting the antiseptic wipes out and the paper stitches just in case he needed those too. Sitting him down gently upon the couch, sitting herself opposite him, pulling up a chair. “I could have become a nurse thanks to you… if I wasn’t in the acting business” She chuckled, playfulness in her tone.

Fact that she was already prepared to administer this sort of first aid to him went to show how accustomed that she had gotten to taking on this role. One that he wished she didn’t have to take so often. MJ was willing to help him when he was scraped and bruised while offering only a fair amount of fuss about it, even on the bad days. ❝I can imagine you in scrubs and a lab coat, hair pulled into a ponytail or done up in a bun. Wouldn’t be a bad style for you.❞ Carefully he shed the top of his suit. Allowing it to fall to the floor as she got him to sit. ❝Maybe you can get on one of those medical dramas.❞
