I know this show just keeps bringing me back but, does unpacking make anyone else feel sentimental?
hey there yâall ! iâm han and i use they/them or she/her pronouns! iâm twenty-one and i live in the est. iâve been writing, reading and editing and growing with audrey throughout the many iterations of IKAG for about four years. Feel free to read her full history here, and you can find some quick bullet points and things of that nature under the cut. feel free to message me through imâs here or discord for plots!! iâm trying to get her theme, wanted connections page and overall blog freshened up before the new year.
cw: mentions of mental illness, therapy, medication, abusive familial relationships.
penelopegarza:
Penelope didnât think much of cooking, it was something she learned to do at a young age. Something her mother made her learn. âThey can be, thatâs for sure. The best things happen late at night. What sort of things do you like to read?â  Penelope said as she stirred the pot. âSo, you said you were here beforeâbut that means you leftâŠWhy?â
Audrey couldnât help but smile at the thought. âMaybe a little, I guess.â The young brunette nodded as she looked down at her lap, collecting her thoughts. âI left about a year or so ago because...I wasnât safe here anymore. I was having some family problems. I wasnât safe on the show, so my girlfriend at the time and I, left for my protection. We went to Japan and spent time together there, traveled around the globe. And then, eventually, we grew apart and broke up. I traveled some more and now Iâm back where I started.â Audrey explained, biting her lip, not exactly ready to go into detail about her exact family problems.
penelopegarza:
âPositiveâ Penny said with a grin as she made her way into the kitchen. Pulling out what she needed she quickly started preparing their food. She moved with grace through the kitchen. Seemingly in one fluid motion she didnât question a single move she made. Pouring the sticks into the boiling bowl she smiled. âYouâre not the only one then. I stay up late normally.â She said with a grin brushing some hair over her shoulder.Â
âAlright then.â Audrey nodded, slipping off her shoes and sitting cross legged on the couch as she began to watch the other woman cook with such fluidity. âOh, thatâs great. Late nights are the best nights. Especially with a book and a cup of tea or some Netflix. Since being back here, itâs been nice to have that time.â The brunette murmured to herself, tucking some hair behind her ear.
eveleenmccarthy:
What have you been up to all day Aud? Tell me about your day while I order our food.
Um, okay. Thereâs not much to tell really. My day was spent shelving and organizing books mostly and then I nannied for the rest of the day for the three year old triplets which was incredibly draining. How was your day?
samihamizrah:
Reminds me of coming here after a long flight, the whole sleep schedule is messy. You look frazzled can I help you somehow?Â
No, no. Itâs okay, I donât want to bother you. I, um, yeah. Frazzled due to exhaustion, honestly. You look the furthest from frazzled.
eveleenmccarthy:
Okay good. We about had a problem. I mean, Iâm up for either, its just a matter of, do you wanna go out or just sit at the house and chill? Iâm totally good whichever way you choose love.
I think chilling would be a nice change as Iâve been running around all day. Letâs order in.
penelopegarza:
âGirl intrude all you want. I will not mind one bit.â she said and clapped her hands âYay! Okay! Iâm totally making us some spaghetti with sausage. Just find a cute movie to watch and weâll cuddle till ya fall asleep.â She turned to walk into the kitchen, hoping Audrey would follow suit. âItâs a pleasure Audrey. Iâve been here for a couple months now. I think about four? So not that long. Wellâwelcome back home then.â
âIf youâre sure.â Audrey murmured apprehensively. It had been a long time since she was even remotely flirted with, let alone by a cute girl who was going to watch Netflix with her and make her dinner. âSleep and I have a very tricky relationship, Iâm an insomniac so I hope you donât mind staying up too late.â The brunette explained following the other woman into the kitchen.
penelopegarza
Well thanks boo. You know you want to cuddle with someone and watch tv.  Iâll make us spaghetti and we can watch a movie and cuddle under the blankets. And it is not either of those things. Spaghetti takes no time. Lemme make you some. Do you like meat? I can do some sausage in it.  Its a pleasure Audrey, Iâm Penelope.Â
This is true but Iâd like to not be too intrusive on your evening. But that does sound lovely. Okay, okay, if you say so. Iâd hate for it to be too much on my account. And I do like meat, sausage sounds delicious. Itâs nice to meet you Penelope. Have you been here long? Iâm an old face but back again to the mansion.
eveleenmccarthy:
Where was your favorite place to go? You better have missed me most of all or Iâm going to be insulted! Do you wanna order it her or go get it?
Donât worry, I did. I...Iâm sorry to say I donât quite remember. Itâs been far too long, do you remember?
penelopegarza:
Iâm not to sweet, Iâm just wanting to please a cute girl. Heyânetflix is always better with someone else snuggling up to you. Girl, youâre not bothering me, let me make you some food. What are you in the mood for. And noâIâm not, making dinner for a cute girl is the best thing I can do with my time.Â
Well, I appreciate it, youâre still incredibly sweet. Thatâs true, especially with it being cold out and all. Hm, Iâm really craving spaghetti for whatever reason? But thatâs taxing and time consuming so Iâm always open to order takeout if youâd like. Iâm Audrey, by the way. I donât think weâve met.
abigail-grant:
I know. I donât enjoy it. They need to stop growing. Me too â I was kind of worried about everything but it all seems to be going okay. You were unsafe? What do you mean? Â At least youâre stronger now. Thatâs what matters.
This is a true statement. My dad issues reached a turning point and I had to leave the show and take care of myself. For safety and emotional stability. And yes, thatâs what matters.
eveleenmccarthy:
Weâre in a great city for good quality pizza.  Ginoâs has been great. Holy hell they made this new pizza a month agoâit was to die for.Â
Ginoâs it is then. Gosh, in all my traveling, thatâs one of the many things Iâve missed about this city. Not including you, oh best friend of mine.
eveleenmccarthy:
Ummmm we could do thai, or pizza orâreally anything, what ya craving?
Quality pizza would be really great, honestly. How has Ginoâs been since I left? Still as good, I hope.
penelopegarza:
Well thatâs just unacceptable, canât have a girl as cute as you having a bad day because of a stupid time change. If youâre hungry, let me cook you some dinnerâŠ.Maybe I can help you get to sleep later too.Â
Oh no, itâs alright. You are too sweet. I think Iâll manage, sleeping is pretty tough for me so I tend to busy myself with reading or Netflix at nice. Dinner? I mean, I am hungry. But, I donât want to bother you. Iâm sure youâve got better things to do.
amelie-grissom:
It was finally the end of the day, April was in bed on her phone as usual and Amelie sat in the kitchen with Kai. She stood across from his high chair, cutting up fruits for the one year old. She smiled at the babyâs coos, âI figured my big boy would like mangoes.â she said in a sweet voice that all mothers used on their babies. She looked up seeing someone enter the kitchen and smiled, âWeâre more than willing to share if youâd like some.â
Audrey was tired, mildly agitated and stressed from her incredibly long day at work. From an early morning library shift to an afternoon and early evening of nannying had left her completely drained. As she head down to the kitchen, the brunette couldnât help but smile at the sweet reaction of mother and child. âIâd actually love some. Whoâs this little nugget?â
abigail-grant:
Theyâre doing good. Alfie and Jewels go to daycare a few days a week now. Still kind of scary to think about that. Phoenix is still adjusting to life but I think heâs getting there. I canât imagine what it would be like to leave and come back again â would feel weird.
Oh how precious. Theyâre getting so big now. Iâm glad to hear Phoenix is adjusting well. Yeah, it wasnât the plan. Trust me. But, under the previous circumstances I hadnât planned on leaving but I was unsafe. Iâm in a much better place now, I got to travel, deal with heartache and Iâm stronger and better for it.
