Phoebe smiled at the other woman, glad to see her. There was something she wanted to tell Abby, but now didn’t seem the time. Adjusting her body so she could get level to Phoenix she cooed at him and booped his nose. “Hello little man,” She said softly. She was making faces at him as Abby spoke, her eyes rising when the woman got rather serious. Her brow furrowed when the other woman spoke. “Is–is she okay?” She asked, “I mean, that’s a silly question, obviously she’s not, but–Where is she right now?” She asked nervously worried for the young girl. She sat back up straight and looked to Abigail sadly before taking her hand. She hated this. Not remembering everything. Hated how it was tearing things apart. “Thanks for telling me…” she said nervously biting her lip. Seeing the woman’s eyes and how upset she looked Phoebe reacted without thinking, she pulled Abby into a hug burrying her face in brunette locks. “Hey, it’ll be okay.”
Seeing Phoebe interact with their youngest son, it made Abby smile a little despite everything that was going on. Since Abby didn’t know how Phoebe would be if she ever woke up from her coma, or if she would -- she didn’t put her name on his birth certificate, mainly also because she wasn’t there to sign it but Phoenix was still theirs in Abbys eyes. It made no difference to her. As Phoenix squealed in reaction to the blonde, the brunette let out a small chuckle. “Uh... she’s at daycare.... I didn’t want to break her routine now she’d finally gotten used to it... at least not, yet” The German bit her lower lip and let out a sigh as Phoebe took her hand in hers. “No problem. You had a right to know” Abby said. Feeling Phoebe pull her in for a hug, Abby made sure that Phoenix was still settled onto her lap. Not being able to hold in her emotions anymore, Abby felt the tears fall down her cheeks as she sobbed. “I just... our little girl... she’s not even two...” Not being able to speak anymore, Abby jst let her emotions out.Â

❝HEY, THAT IS VERY VERY SPECIAL TO ME. And to your children I bet. I know children can really benefit from a stay at home mother. It’s better then being an absentee mother I guess.” Rosemary’s mother was always jetting off around the world, photographing some rare species. She admired her mother’s work dearly, but sometimes - at least when she was growing up, she wished she had a stay at home mother. When they couldn’t take her on their trips, little Rose stayed home with her nanny which was not even close to a substitute for her mother. “How many kids do you have?” She inquired, her head tilting slightly from curiosity. “That’s what my mother always said! But yes, I totally agree. You can’t become good at anything without practicing it.” She replied. She was glad for the woman’s helpful suggestions. “Oh come on, you’re telling me if I cut someone in half, right before your eyes, or made a bunny appear from a hat, you wouldn’t be in awe of that.”Â
“Oh, well -- thank you” Abby said with a small smile playing on her lips. Sometimes she forgot how special being a mother was, especially when half the time she was just exhausted. “I try be the best I can for my kids but I’m still learning as I go.” The brunette wished there was a way to know everything about parenting and to make it easier -- but she knew that doing was the best way to learn. “I have three -- twins and a boy. Although it makes things slightly easier because the twins go to daycare three times a week. Gives me time to catch up on everything that needs doing.” Abby often wondered how she managed everything -- but somehow she did it, and that’s all that mattered. “Then your mother is a smart woman. Some people give up too easily, I think. “ Abby crinkled her nose as she thought for a moment about what Rosemary said “I mean -- I’d wonder how you did it, for sure... and want answers but I know there’s always tricks they use.”
dr-rosemaryhames:
❝OH YEAH, IT’S A BLAST!” She responded, slight sarcasm dipping her words. In all honesty she loved her job more then most things. It was the only thing that kept her going for the longest time. When her personal life went to shit, she could just bury her hurt in work. “Well what is it you do?” She asked. “Well drats, better luck next time I guess.” Rosemary commented, frowning down at the card. Putting it back in the deck, she shuffled them again and then picked another card. “Is this it? Probably not, I did that by random. Though the first time I wasn’t exactly sure what Iw as doing, so I guess that was a random pick too. I have 52 chances, those are great odds!” She deadpanned. “Oh hey, I think you’d be great at it, besides, anyone can be cut in half. But you’re probably better at what you do now, so I’ll leave you to it. Besides, the whole Siegfried and Roy, getting eaten by a tiger thing kind of freaks me out.” She teased. “It is, I love cake though. I could eat it all day if I could, I mean so many different flavors!”Â
As she was asked what she did, Abby shrugged her shoulders slightly. The brunette loved what she did -- even if it wasn’t a career like most of the woman in the house seemed to have. “I’m a stay at home mom. Nothing too special.” Once her son was older and going to daycare like his siblings Abby was going to look into getting at least a part time job, but for now she knew that looking after three kids under the age of two was enough for her. “Practice makes perfect, right? Maybe there are some other people you can try it on” The brunette hoped it was a helpful suggestion for the other woman. “Those are better odds than winning the lotto” Abby pointed out with a grin. “No, no. I don’t think I’d be a great assistant at all for a magician. I’m too skeptical myself to believe it” Abby crinkled her nose slightly at the other womans comment “I’m not a huge fan of cake. It’s not something I really enjoy”

Phoebe was curled up on her flipping through a book of recipes and dog-earing pages she wanted to try.  Her stomach growled at her as she thought about ways to doctor them and who she could test them on. Bright blue eyes darted up when she heard a familiar voice, one that made her stomach flip. “Oh hey Abbs.” She said smiling and moving over a bit, patting the bed next to her, wanting the other woman to come join her. “What’s up?”
Seeing Phoebe in her room, Abby let out a sigh of relief. It was going to be a lot easier talking to her in a semi-private area. She wished that Phoebe would room with her, but knew that it was best for the blonde to be in a different room. It made it easier for Phoebe and for the kids -- the four people she was always going to put before herself. Walking into the room, Abby sat on the edge of the bed and placed Phoenix on her lap. The brunette knew that it probably wasn’t best to talk about this with the distraction of a four month old but there wasn’t any other choice. “Um... there’s... I...” Abby trailed off, trying to get her thoughts together. She had to be strong, not only for Phoebe but Phoenix reacted to his moms emotions and knew that if he started crying then it would make everything a lot worse. “There’s no easy way to say this....” Abby tried to focus on the older woman when she was speaking but found it difficult. “Jewels needs to have surgery... her tonsils need to come out and... her ear drum. It’s been giving troubles so... she needs surgery for that too. I just... thought you might want to know...” Biting her lower lip, Abby looked down at Phoenix. “You’re her mom... the woman who gave birth to her so... I just... thought you should know, I can give permission for the surgery and all that but yeah, I wanted to tell you.” Looking back up at Phoebe, there was clear fear in the German’s eyes but she was trying her best to control it. “That’s all I needed to say”Â

Having dropped Alfie and Jewels off to daycare after the doctors appointment for her daughter, Abby finally had time to process what the doctor had told her about her almost two year old. She couldn’t believe that her tonsils were making so much problems for the toddler, or that her ears were so badly affected by it. Sitting in the car for a moment, the brunette held back her tears before getting out and moving to get Phoenix out of the car. Walking inside, the German didn’t really know where she was walking until she found herself stopped in front of Phoebe’s room. Taking a deep breath, she guessed her subconscious led her here because even if the blonde didn’t remember -- Jewels was still her daughter and she deserved to know what was going on. Knocking on the door, Abby readjusted the infant on her hips and opened the door slightly “Pheebs? Are you in here?” She asked, not wanting to over step her boundaries by just walking into the room. “I need to talk to you” The brunette stated, trying to keep her voice from breaking. Â
