My name is August Greenwood, I’m a trans and queer artist who makes music and writes a lot. This is an introduction to a new project that I’m hoping will be your new obsession! If you’re looking for new media to go down the rabbit hole of, please stay tuned!

‘Hematology’ is a concept album that I’m working on about a scientist with religious trauma that loses his mind after meeting a spirit that claims to be God.

I’ve been working on this concept album for a while now, and I’ve been posting it consistently on other platforms, but I realized that Tumblr would probably be intrigued by my project and I feel the need to share it here. So, hello! Welcome to Hematology!

I have a Patreon to help fund the project, it’s really cheap, with the cheapest tier being just $1 and the most expensive tier is $10, but here’s some more info!

Plot:

Three brothers grew up in a tiny little community church in the middle of nowhere South Carolina. With the two eldest siblings having left the church, the youngest remains there alone, grappling with his faith and the harmful environment he’s surrounded by. When the middle child, the estranged scientist, starts speaking with a powerful entity who claims to be God, things begin going downhill fast, and The Youngest finds himself caught in the middle. Between the missing pastor and his increasingly entranced brothers, it is up to The Eldest to protect his family while avoiding falling into the clutches of the spirit that started it all.

Does anyone here remember ‘Two Maiden Ladies’ from 2020-2022? I’m going to be in a concert on January 9th at The Greenroom 42 in New York City performing 5 songs from ‘Two Maiden Ladies’, with my co-writer, Nalah Aidan Palmer. Best part, if you can’t make it in person, there are online tickets available, and once you get online tickets, you can watch the performance for up to a week after it’s already over so you don’t have to worry about time zones!

Also in the same concert with me, Sushi Soucy performing works from ‘Rockabye’ and ‘Lucifer’s Law’, and Ella Villani performing works from ‘Indigo’ and ‘Firsts’!

Currently, I don’t have any way to purchase it as an MP3, however, I’m working on releasing a demo to raise money to get it produced in-studio with a producer! That’ll be coming out within a month or so! Stay tuned for more announcements regarding that.

That’s a great question, thank you for asking!! I have a few projects for FTD lined up, one of which is a podcast! I’m currently looking for and hiring voice actors for it, and I’m very excited to show everyone the first episode! Been working on the script for it for a while now. :)

what was the hardest part of totaled for you to perform?

Playing Cassius was a huge challenge for me. The hardest part was 100% Beck’s death. Sometimes, the challenge was getting in the mindset for the scene, but the even harder part was getting out of that mindset. It’s heavy stuff!

When you’re doing a scene like that with your best friend, or anyone really, it can feel so real! I cried so much during the process of Totaled. It definitely hit close to home for me :)
