i have been a hockey fan for 8+ years ofc i know the stripper doesn’t love us, but some people have gotten waaay too comfortable bending backwards to defend their fav players. ntm, expecting people, especially minorities, to not gaf about this is extremely weird. “why do you u care” maybe because it’s important to speak up even if it’s something “minor” and not being surprised shouldn’t equate to us being silent?!!

i just want to point out that what misa and dickie have going on, is the most common behaviour for guy best friends. and dickie and misa act like that all the time.
now do you see the huge difference in will and mack? yea and they act like that all the time. and what could this possibly mean? a lot.
Will doing the driving majority of the time and Mack being a passenger princess is very important to me. Along with the planning of their activities most of time. Add more the idea of Will doing the ordering for the both of them when they’re at a restaurant? Chef’s kiss honestly.
Though what if someone tells Mack that he should make more effort, etc? (Of which Will has no idea that it happened). Mack who thinks that he should do try to do more of the things so that (in his mind) Will won’t feel being taken advantage of.
Cue Mack insisting to drive more, order for them and plan what to do for the day. Will is confused because “is Mack angry at me? Why won’t he let me take care of him 🥺” Will feels like he’s being punished. Because clearly Mack looks stressed doing all of this!
Mack IS stressed. He also feels proud, see? He can do it for Will too! So he asks Will if he did well in doing the planning and caring for the day.
Will who can never deny his Mack praises goes “you did well, sweetheart”. However carefully asks, “can I ask why you did this? Don’t get me wrong you were wonderful, but this is just usually my role.”
Mack smiles awkwardly but is happy to explain what happened (thinking being told off was just a way to make him better, like in hockey). So he wanted to be a better partner and all. Will’s smile becomes thin and he nods, but tells him that he’s happy about this, but prefers to do this for the both of them.
“It’s my love language, acts of service.” Will explains, “doing this is more of a benefit to me, it makes me happy. The same way your love language is physical touch. Well quality time as well for the both of us. So you don’t have to change things at all.”
Mack feels relieved and goes to hug Will, “Whew, okay Willy thanks” Mack though is pleased with himself that he was able to still do something for Will.
(After they went home Will immediately messages the person that spoke to Mack and tells them to mind his own business. The next time it happens again, it won’t just be a message)
Macklin Celebrini’s perfect date being dinner, going for ice cream, and a drive is crazy, like you’re already doing all that with someone buddy… and you’re not the one driving.

Biz: “Did you ask him about anything […] he's doing different training wise, did you ask him about his old man? Did you guys get into any type of off season to hockey talk?”
With: “Not really, I was asking him—they were—Smith was just out in Vann, and I was like, ‘Oh, how was that guys?’ they just said they were up at six training, skating, then they'd go for a track workout, skate again, five straight days, they said they were legit grinding, and then they were doing a camp in Boston this past week. I think the guy Adam Nichols was running it for local pros around here. So, it seems like these guys are all dialed in. It seems like they're on the ice constantly.”

With: “Biz, what did you think when you saw the number?”
Biz: “I think that, I would say thank you, Leo Carlson offer sheet, because that kind of, I guess, set sort of the round where he was going to get, but I don't really think it mattered. I think that San Jose is one of those markets where it's like, okay, we need to keep a guy like this. So there's obviously other markets where he could thrive from like a marketing standpoint and marketing dollars, but he's had great success there.
He broke the all time record for most points in a season last year and his second year in the NHL. And that's, I mean, he's Sidney Crosby 2.0. He's the perfect player.
He does his own dirty work. You see these clips of these shifts where he's out there just busting his ass for a minute straight, strippin guys, gettin another four check, backtracking. And then he could get it done offensively and pretty much do whatever he wants with the puck.
And to also do it with, listen, like, I'm not trying to take anything away from Sid, but in Sid's, like, second and third year, they were bringing in some veterans to surround him with. This last season, their team was not very good. If you look at their team on paper, you'd be like, ooh, it's a little bit underwhelming.
And the fact that he did that with having all that pressure and also doing it in the Olympic year where he went to the Olympics and they pretty much rolled that line out there with him on it every other shift when they needed a goal. So you're talking about the best Canadian players in the world and he's the guy that you're looking to at that age. He's a freak, guys, and I hope the league gets about 10 to 15 more of them, because it'll just raise the bar for everybody else.
And money well earned, but like you said, five years, that would kind of suck to have to fork over that much dough and only get the five years, but he had them by the balls and he's got all the control and shout out to Pat Bresson and his team for knowing all that, but more importantly him for putting in the work and being the freak of nature that he is.”
Keith “Yeah, I don't think there is, when I saw the number two, it was just like, yeah, whatever number it was gonna be, it wouldn't have rattled me, just because what he brings to your team, what guys will wanna do to go play there with him. I forget who we were talking to, […] but he was saying that all the guys on the Olympic team were like, ‘I wanna play with Celebrini, I wanna play with Celebri.’ So like he's already got that it factor at such a young age.
And I mean, Whit, you spent four or five hours with him, like he just seems like such a level headed kid where it's like, it's not gonna get to his head, him signing this big deal. He's still gonna be training his ass off, working hard every shift. So I think it's well earned, well deserved, and good for both sides, I would imagine.
Obviously, if you're a San Jose fan, you'd like to see him for eight years, but hey, listen, you build around him, you get five unreal years out of him, and then maybe he does wanna stay and they're building something, they're winning cups in the next few years.”
With: “And you say like, ideally, yeah, you'd rather get him on more years if you're Mike Grinnell, but you're also like not pissing him off. You're not starting any sort of like ‘Oh, why won't they kind of give me this?’
And you're just like, ‘Hey, we love you, we want you to be here. If this is what you want and this is what it takes right now, here you go.’ And then there's no bad blood. Look at what we've seen with different teams and pissing guys off and kind of how it goes.

Whit: “Kevin Hayes, he set up golf with me and him, we're gonna play Will Smith and Celebrini. […]
I'm with Foles, I'm like, you wanna go play? He's like, yeah […]. We waxed these two up and down this golf course for four hours, just a complete shit kicking.
We get to the 18th hole. Now, I've been told by my accountant to never mention financial figures on what we're playing for in golf, so I'm gonna take his advice. But we're playing for a good amount of money.
They go double or nothing on 18. We win that. Now I'm laughing.
Now, Old Sandwich has a 19th hole. It's got one little extra green and when you walk off the 18th hole, there's a shot from 100 yards or 140 yards. Kind of like a little gambling hole, a buy hole, for say.
They double or nothing again. We win again. I'm laughing.
I'm like, ‘Oh my God’, I'm like, ‘This guy's new contract, 18.80 year, I mean, what the hell's he gonna do?’”
Biz: “He's playing for free in two years.”
With: “Yeah, for sure. So they want to double or nothing one more time because you can go up from a different angle and hit an 130 yard shot. The same green, but a totally different place we were hitting down from. They double or nothing again.
And I hit it to about 15 feet, a very good shot. And I'm humping air. I'm yelling, ‘give the Sharks my address.’
Then I'm like, ‘this is false. This is unbelievable.’ Celebrini goes after me and hits it to about 12 feet.
And I was like, ‘Oh no’. I'm like, ‘Fuck, I gotta make this putt’, because this kid seems like one of those guys, you know? And he was horrible. He's gonna be good at golf. He kinda just started playing. He's got a nice swing. But he must have shot 98. He was horrible. But he hit this shot.
And I'm like, oh no. And it's me and my past as an athlete. And if I don't make it, then it's him and who he is.
Sure as shit, I miss. And these guys read this putt for, I'm gonna say, 10 minutes. I have a video, a false video of the entire thing.
Will Smith's lining up the ball. Then he's going back. Celebrini's standing over. He's like, ‘Move your hands two inches to the right.’ They're just adjusting like a video game. And what happens?
He caned it.
He cans it. Of course he caned it. Of course he caned it.
And at this point, the groups behind us were now coming up there and they're watching because I think two of the kids played with Will Smith at BC. They happened to be out there. And it was like, I just knew it.
I knew it walking down. I said, if I don't make this putt, and even if I do make it, he's making it. Some guys have that it factor.”
I am #noticing that the two biggest instances of Will very loudly and very publicly claiming Mack have both happened when Mack was getting an absurd amount of concentrated attention from the hockey world and the general public.
The first was during the Olympics. Mack was playing like an absolute beast on McDavid’s line, their chemistry was one of the biggest talking points of the tournament, he was the youngest player on Team Canada, and he finished as the tournament’s leading goal scorer. When he came back, Will was obviously there to be a shoulder to cry on after what was, subjectively, Mack’s greatest defeat to date. But he also commissioned that hype reel to that specific song almost to say, this is who we are to each other. This is what we can do together. He lets me post this because he wants to be associated with me just as much as I want to be associated with him.
Now fast forward to the most recent case. Mack signs the $18.8 million extension, becomes the highest paid player in the NHL, everyone’s thirsting after him on main and probably in his DMs, every media outlet wants a piece of him, every athlete who’s been alive for more than two minutes names him as their dream linemate, the newly recruited Baby Sharks all have enormous hockey crushes on him, and people are flying to Vancouver just to train with him.
So what does Will do? …Enter wmack271.
He may be Macklin Celebrini to the rest of you, but to me? That’s my silly rabbit. He lets me film TikToks of him. Y’all might be in his DMs, but he spent a week rolling out the red carpet for me in Vancouver before following me all the way back to Boston because apparently he can’t get enough of me. And guess what? I can’t get enough of him either. Good thing he’s mine. So when you speak of him, don’t forget little old me. All that money’s obviously going toward our shared place. What’s his is mine. I get exclusive rights to him.
And that’s what cracks me up. Whether you read it platonically or romantically, Will’s “claims” always seem to arrive when the rest of the hockey world is being extra loud about just how special Mack is. It’s almost like his response is, yes, congratulations on catching up. We’ve been knew. Now remember who gets the behind the scenes access.
