Ask event... Why do you allow Villains to come to your island? (They are so dumb and genocidal?!? *Looking at a certain few* Shouldn't you lock them up instead?)
"Oh dear...uh- I think he's not going to stop." Rose then looks to the camera. "Hey anon! Just to explain why he got so defensive here... This has been a question he got a lot during the interviews he had with the media. Ever since those constant incidents that involved multiple criminal groups causing all kinds of chaos in Pasio, especially that time Hoopa got kidnapped, he's been hard at work to get them out of his island!" She adds before crossing her arms. "There are those who did turn a new leaf, from what I've seen, who've ended up helping when a crisis happened in this island. Yet...Team Rocket is one I really wish wasn't here at all." Rose then smiles. "Trust me when I say that Lear is very much in constant cooperation with the proper authorities! Even I help out when things get messy!"
Lear catches his breath before relaxing his posture. "...I truly don't want my island nor the people in it to be in danger. I wish for this island to thrive and be a place where anyone can enjoy themselves along with their Pokemon!" He places his hands on his hips. "I've gone through the entire process for those who've actually decided to play nice and not cause trouble. Heck, some have served their time. Yet, there's still those who wish to cause too much stress to my guests in Pasio." He then smirks. "Please rest assured that I, along with those who've pledged to protect Pasio, and the assistance of the International Police....we will work our hardest to keep this island safe!"
Thus, the special ask box event comes to a close...
Rose, when eating at a coffee shop or any other fast food place, have you ever used Lear’s name instead of your own?
"Is this why I see some odd charges once or twice in my account!?" Lear shouted as he kept glaring at her.
"O-Oh dear- L-Look Lear, I genuinely thought you sent Hoopa to come find me because it wasn't consistent! ...though usually they'd ask for some donuts while I got food for myself and my Pokemon-" Rose responded, trying to calm down the prince.
"HOOPA!!" Lear looked around the room to find the djinn. "I can't believe it...! It's not like I won't go bankrupt, but I'm pretty sure those are the days I told them they weren't allowed any donuts for pranks that went too far-!"
"Ah...t-that would make sense..." Rose scratched her head.
Lear sighs before turning back to her. "...sorry. You did seem like you had no idea and just realized it now. ...please remember that unless I say it's ok, you shouldn't put food on my tab-!"
"I-I will, your highness! I mean...it's not like I'm struggling bad financially myself..." Rose smiles a bit.
"...maybe a fitting punishment would be for me to pay for dinner later today, get everyone's favorite food....EXCEPT for Hoopa's!" Lear grins.
"WHA- N-NOOOOO LEAR!! PLEASE!! I'm sorry!!!" Hoopa appears, begging for the prince to reconsider.
Rose, we know you travel all over the world. Has Lear ever offered you use of Hoopa’s portals for easy transportation? Or has it just teleported you to random places without any warning?
"Ever since I had my first encounter with Hoopa when I first got dropped into Pasio, it tends to feel like a bit of a coin flip with this little fella." Rose adds. "That doesn't mean they haven't helped me properly though! They've not only saved me a few times while dealing with…all the stuff that happened in Pasio so far, but also was kind enough to give me a quick way to go to Pasio and back to Kalos!"
"They do the same thing to me, either teleporting me out of random or actually cooperating for once." Lear says. "So don't worry, I too have to deal with this as well. …but dropping you at the villa whenever something urgent pops up where I feel you'd be of help is useful though! Hahahahaha!"
"Oh come on, your highness! D-Don't enable them!! If you just want my help, I'll rush as fast as I can!" Rose sighs. "…you're just getting back at me for teasing you a lot aren't ya?"
Rose finishes preparing the post before scheduling when it'll be posted. She double checks the hashtags, plus making sure the visuals look clear.
"…there! Whew! I think we'll soon be done with this Q&A yeah?" Rose looks at Lear.
"Looks like it." He answers. "…but it's been amusing! Despite…certain questions we've answered so far."
"…say, speaking of using Hoopa's portals… I may ask for a solid relating to that actually." She adjusts her front hair.
"Hm? What is it?" Lear asks, curious as to what she'll say next.
"…you see. I know it's been a while since I've kept…some stuff hidden. You and a good chunk of my other friends know what happened some years back when I went MIA for like…a year?" Rose crosses her arms.
"…Oh." Lear pauses for a moment. "…right, your break to 'do some soul-searching' as you put it. I heard the Subway Bosses were of the first ones to check on you."
"…Lear. I've been in a lot more adventures ever since then. Even my skills as a trainer have evolved to greater heights! …and, after everything I and my Pokemon have gone through…" Rose looks at Steffan. "…after going to so many regions, learn all kinds of things from so many cool trainers…I think it's time for me to go back to Kalos and do something I should've done for ages by now."
Both Lear and Hoopa look surprised. It's true that she's been travelling all over the world and has gotten busy with her "side-job", but the way she has phrased things, there's only one thing Lear can think about… He grins before he speaks again.
"I think what shocks me more is the fact you've kept your actual name a secret for this long." Lear scoffs. "…though I think I speak for plenty of people when I say this: was about time you did! You already won the Pokemon League in Kalos years ago and now you decide to truly go ahead and pick the title that was meant to be yours for this long?! Seriously, I was offended when you tried to turn down the PML Champion title because of those worries of yours of 'not being around often'."
"Y-You have to admit that knowing what I do on my side-job, it's understandable! Come on…! How many times do I have to tell you!?" Kayzi facepalms. "…l-look. I saw that they've implemented what looks like a Battle Royal kind of tournament in Lumiouse City. From what I've read, whoever reaches the top rank gets to have any wish granted! …as long as it's within the sponsor's power to do so of course." She pulls out her phone and shows Lear a promotional ad for it.
"A wish?" Hoopa grins a little.
"Don't even think about it Hoopa." Lear stares at the djinn. "But…this could be an interesting idea to do in Pasio…" He mumbles to himself, before clearing his throat. "My guess is that you'll sign up for it, yes?"
"Yup!" Kayzi puts her phone back in her pocket. "I'll go under my actual name, which no one knows of except those closest to me. Then, I'll go up the ranks and wish for a proper Pokemon League styled challenge and battle Diantha once more!" She smiles. "…even though Diantha told me she'd gladly give me the title without rechallenging her, I declined that way of doing so. Thus, I want to gain it the proper way! I'll get stronger through this 'ZA Battle Royale' thing, and then I'll face her! Steffan and I won't accept such an important title without a good fight. Right bud?" Kayzi looks at her partner Pokemon.
"Right-! It's been a long time coming…but we're ready to go through with this!" Steffan smirks.
"That means that you'll want a fast, convenient way to go to Kalos yes…?" Lear grins.
"T-That is if you're both fine with it!"
The prince and his Pokemon stay silent for a moment, before Lear scoffs.
"Of course we can help you get there fast. When do you plan on going back to Kalos?" Lear says, pulling out his phone, opening the calendar app.
"About…a week from now! I want to do some battling here in Pasio before I head off to the big challenge! …I…also need time to do some of the uh, lengthy paperwork relating to well…my name." Kayzi scratches her head.
"Hehehe! I can do that for you without any issues!" Hoopa flies around Kayzi.
Lear adds Kayzi's favor on his calendar before putting his phone away. "I should be free to see you off! After all, you're one of my island's most passionate supporters!" He starts laughing.
"Sweet! Thanks you two, I really mean it!"
It was another day in Pasio. People and Pokemon roam the streets of Centra City either towards their next battle, or to just relax and have a fun time. Today, however, the prince has other plans that don't exactly involve being outside...for now at least!
Rose is back in Pasio, and she gave him a good idea on how to interact with not just the people of Pasio, but also those outside of it!
While Lear isn't unfamiliar with Q&As in general, his busy schedule has kept him from getting a chance to do so online. Thus, he went ahead and started to prepare for this little event.
"Oh-? You want me to be a part of this too?" Rose asked. "I thought this was just for you!"
"Hmph! You're the one who suggested it, so you better not be late for when I open submissions!" Lear replied. "If you dare to be late... I'll make sure Hoopa drops you here instead!"
"C-Come on, your highness! I'm never late! I swear...!" She smiles nervously. "...but, it has been a hot minute since I did one of these! Maybe people will throw something my way!"
Have you ever wanted to ask the founder of Pasio from the comfort of your own home? Maybe you've been waiting to get the chance to learn more about any adventures Rose has been in? Rejoice, for your chance has arrived!
For a limited time only, send your questions to either Lear, Rose, or both in this blog's ask box and get to know them a little better, or even be surprised by one of them retelling something that happened in the past!
Multiple questions are accepted! However, please make sure to split them to avoid any confusion.
Submissions will be accepted from today, Monday, May 4th at 10 AM until Wednesday, May 6th 10 PM (EST TIME)!

Lear, do you have any interests outside of pokémon battling and your princely duties?
Lear sighs and lets go of Hoopa, before looking back at the camera. "As I was saying…and to bounce off what Hoopa said- Music has been something I find plenty of comfort with. There was a few years where I was…too busy to pick up my Violin, lately I've managed to find the time to do so!"
"Honestly Lear, you're really good at playing it! You should show it off more." Rose says, smiling. "Hey- remember that time we ended up participating on that music festival you hosted some years back? The summer one!"
"Ngh-" Lear adjusts his shades. "…the Sync Pair Music Festival. Quite frankly I expected to only be in charge with making sure things went smoothly. Especially when I was handling the Pasio Superstar Competition!"
"Aw come on Lear…but Meloetta appeared when the event was happening! She really wanted to sing for everyone attending…" Rose pulls out her phone to find the pictures taken at the event. "…besides, you did find a way to join in the end!"
The two begin to reminisce about that festival…
"…I truly can't believe you managed to convince me to do this."
It was a hot summer day in Pasio. Many find themselves looking for all sorts of ways to stay cool under the sun. Thankfully, there's a fun event that can help with that! A music festival has begun by the largest coastline in the island, and everyone has been enjoying not just the beach itself, but also the wonderful tunes ringing out from the main stage. However, after the first hours of the festival came and went, we find the prince himself speaking with Rose in backstage. Beside her is her Lucario, Steffan, but also the Melody Pokemon, Meloetta! It turns out that Meloetta found themselves in Pasio a day or so ago, but the moment the festival started, she was attracted by the music! It was then where Rose came across them, finding out that Meloetta wants to participate in the fun! Knowing this isn't the first time she comes across the cute, singing pokemon, she knew she had to tell Lear about it. Little did she know that Lear already had an event in mind that could satisfy that desire.
However, the prince ended up being involved with this wish for Rose told them that he knew how to play the violin and that "He's super talented with it!". Great.
"Come on Lear, it'll be fun! Plus, you can show off how good you are with the Violin!" Rose said, excited about the event. "The moment you announced a competition, Meloetta was thrilled to participate in it!"
"L-Look! We have plenty of time to practice! Tomorrow is day one of the event right? It's a matter of finding out a good tune that goes well with your Violin playing and my Guitar playing! Heck, I think I have an idea as to what we can play…" She responds, going through her bag and pulling out a notebook. "I…actually jot down a few melodies I play while I'm bored and don't feel like drawing the landscape I'm seeing. I'm not exactly a song writer, but there's one that could work for us both!"
"Hm-?" Lear looks at the notebook while making sure he doesn't show off too much of his curiosity. "…very well, let me look at what you have. I'm not a composer either, but perhaps I can enlighten you!"
The two trainers begin to brainstorm along with their Pokemon, playing the melody they have so far while adjusting it along the way. Despite Lear being hesitant at first for joining his rival's team for a musical performance competition, over time, he couldn't help but remember the joys of music during his childhood. The time before he received that deep, emotional wound. The time that he, along with his Pokemon, friends and family were at peace.
The loss, the pain, the pressure. Too many things kept him from enjoying the hobbies he once found comfort in it. Every time he stared at the Violin, the faint memory of her face would appear in his mind again and again. Yet, his small, mischievous friend missed the days they'd see him play it with a smile on his face. Thus, they kept encouraging Lear to pick it back up, to play it to just those he trusts in the villa! It took days, weeks, months to truly rediscover his love for music again. It even ended up with Rose being dropped in the middle of him playing because Hoopa felt compelled to make her listen to him play it! Sure it ended with Hoopa not being able to eat any donuts that day, but it helped Lear to be comfortable with playing music no matter who's listening. The scar was still there, but it eventually healed.
Hours passed and both trainers and Pokemon decided to go get something to eat after they figure out a good performance for the competition tomorrow.
"…Rose." Lear spoke out.
"H-Hm? Wahsup?" Rose responded in the middle of eating.
"You could've waited until you swallowed your food-!" The prince shakes his head a bit.
"…sorry! I-I just wanted to make sure you knew I heard ya!" The Kalosian trainer scratches her head.
"…I'll admit it, planning a performance like this is pretty fun. Even hearing Meloetta follow our melody was exciting." Lear says, looking at the Pokemon enjoy their food.
Rose's eyes widen a bit, before she smiles. "Hah! I'm glad! …ever since I saw you play that Violin that day, I honestly hoped you'd showcase that skill a bit more. Sure, you've become a skilled Pokemon Trainer, yet- it's nice to enjoy something that's more…creative, relaxing… You get what I mean. Some of my favorite music and live performances is tend to use calm moments to stand out the exciting ones even more!" She takes another bite of her food. "…which is why I appreciate these moments when things aren't so crazy, for it'll energize me for future battles and andventures!"
Lear looks back at Rose before taking a sip of his drink. "…does food always give you a sudden burst of wisdom?"
"Eh? What do you mean by that?"
"…you actually found this picture-" He then clears his throat before continuing to speak. "…the following day we went up to the main arena. While I, of course, was confident with my part of the performance, I'm still human. Nerves naturally crept up on me a little…" He smirks. "However, the duet Rose and I performed with our Pokemon, along with Meloetta, was more than excellent! We very much stole the show, in my opinion." Lear laughs.
"Lear was actually having the time of his life! I could tell instantly that he was enjoying it, especially when we had our little 'solo duel' in the middle of it." Rose snickers. "The combined sound of my electric guitar with his violin was unforgettable!"
"Urk-!" Lear blushes slightly. "I-I was thriving because of how well it all went! You know I don't expect anything less than excellence. Let it be in Pokemon Battles or otherwise!"
"Yes, yes, your highness… Because of that, I gave it my all to make sure to deliver the best solo in the entire competition!" Rose begins to laugh.
"You had the best solo? Please, it was I who captivated the audience with mine!" Lear responds back.
The two stare at one another, grinning. Despite everything…they're still rivals.
"…not this again…I thought we already had that answer when we won best in show! It was you both…!" Steffan sighed.
"Hehe! I hope Meloetta is doing okay, wherever they are!" Hoopa giggles.
"Hmph!" Lear crosses his arms, still looking confident. "Regardless, since then I kept enjoying playing music on my downtime. While it felt great to be on stage and hear everyone enjoy the performance, I already have plenty on my plate. …but, I won't turn down the occasional special performance though." He smirks.

"Ah man…but I can't help but look back fondly to those first battles we had during the PML." Rose said, smiling.
"Back then, I quite literally was dropped into Pasio. I already wanted to travel there anyways, for Steffan and I were super curious about it! A place where trainers all over the globe could battle and do all sorts of things? Who wouldn't check it out! Yet, little did I know that I'd find not only a great rival and friend."
Rose then begins to retell the story…
It was the semi-finals of the PML, and the excitement could be felt in the entirety of Pasio. Rose, along with her team, have done their very best to reach such heights in the tournament. After the entire situation with Team Break occurred, plus the pleas of the pink, mischievous Pokemon that brought her to the artificial island in the first place, she can't help but worry about the prince who constantly tried to prove himself. As she made her way to the arena, she could hear cheers for her and her team. It was clear that many weren't exactly fans of Lear due to how arrogant he was during it all. He rejected the very concept of working as a team? Then what was the point of hosting this tournament in the first place? Even she found herself pondering all kinds of questions as to why he behaved this way, but ever since her first battle against him ending in a tie some time ago, she couldn't shake the feeling that all he wanted…is to be acknowledged by someone. Who? Yeah no, she doesn't have enough context for that. Maybe his ramblings about becoming king are related to that? Either way, she wasn't thrilled with those cheering her on just to stomp him down.
"So it's us against Lear's team huh…" Rose said quietly. "…I haven't seen him around for a while though. Can't help but think about those Team Break guys-"
"That's true… While we've had our own clashes with Team Break, they haven't appeared as of late." Brock adds.
"I think that just makes things more worrying." Misty places one of her hands on her hip. "They've been going all over the place, taking people's Pokemon! Them suddenly not doing anything is…"
Rose crosses her arms, pensive. "…yeah. It's not exactly a good sign. But, if something DOES happen…we'll be more than prepared to handle them!" She looks at the two Kanto gym leaders with a confident smile, to then pat her Lucario's head.
"Right." Cheren adds, walking to Rose's side. "…I know I've been a new addition to your team, but I hope I can join you for this battle." He asks with a smile.
"Of course you can! After all, it isn't the first time we battle side by side." She giggles, remembering of their adventures back in Unova.
They eventually arrive to the arena, walking towards their spots for the battle ahead. Cheers rang out, making it known that they're the crowd's favorite. However, despite it being time for them to start, Lear and co. haven't arrived yet! Is he getting ready for a grand entrance? Clearly he would've been punctual if that were the case. It couldn't also be due to everyone wanting him to lose. He doesn't look like the type of guy who'd let negative attention affect him! …right?
"This is weird…shouldn't we've started the battle by now?" Misty looks around.
"…I don't see them anywhere." Brock adds.
Cheren starts to ponder for a moment before looking like he remembered something.
Brock looks to the Unovan Gym leader, noticing his shift in expression. "Cheren, do you know anything?"
"…I didn't want to bring this up for I wanted all of us to focus on the tournament. However, I feel Rose's worries hit the nail on the head." Cheren says.
"Huh?" Rose looks towards Cheren. "…don't tell me…"
Cheren nods. "…you see, I—"
Cheren is then interrupted by a woman's voice. The team of trainers turning towards the source of it, to then notice a Team Break member walk towards the middle of the arena.
"Today…the curtains close on the Pokemon Masters League!" The masked woman shouts, to then burst into laughter.
Her colleagues in Team Break eventually make their appearance, surrounding Rose's team.
"Team Break!?" Misty raises her guard.
Rose steps forward, Steffan following suit to then take on defensive stances. "I wish I wasn't right…!" Rose thinks before speaking up.
"What are you doing here?! What did you do with Lear!?"
"Rose!" Brock calls out Tyrannitar to his side. "I don't think they're here to answer questions! …I'm worried about him as well, but we need to stop them now before things get out of hand!"
Rose grits her teeth before she adjusts her hat. "You're right. Everyone! We need to protect the PML and everyone attending it!"
The battle begins, everyone doing their best to fend off the members of Team Break. Rose's team has done well fending them off, but even they know that they're slowly losing steam. Is there any way to burst through this situation? Rose looks around, noticing that there's members speaking to one another, something about others being late to arrive. She can't help but get worried, noticing that Steffan definitely would want some of the heat off him. Team Break closes in, some commanding their Pokemon to land a hard hit on some of her team's Pokemon, until…
"Hoopa! Use Hyperspace Hole to break up that mob!"
A strong attack suddenly bursts from below Team Break's Pokemon, causing it's trainers to scatter with them. Others turn to see who was the one who just broke through their assault. Cheren smiles softly, meanwhile Rose's face beams with joy.
"You're late." Cheren cheekily says.
"Was about time you arrived, prince-!" Rose adds.
"…to think you all have the audacity to attempt to destroy the Pokemon Masters League…my grand stage…" Lear frowns, before pointing towards the woman leading the large Team Break group. "I won't just stand here and let you do whatever you want with it!"
It was the founder of Pasio himself, along side Cynthia. Turns out, they were already dealing with Team Break's surprise attack on the PML. Lear then walks forward, Hoopa flying back to his side.
"Hmph! Looks like I have a few more bugs to squash. These fools don't know when to stop, do they?" He gestures to Cynthia. "You! Go and meet up with the arena security! I can handle these thugs." He grins.
"Are you sure you'll be fine on your own?" Cynthia asks, smiling.
"Who do you think I am!?" He looks at the Sinnoh champion before turning towards where Team Break and Rose's team are. "Of course I will!"
Cynthia giggles a bit. "Very well." She then rushes off with her Pokemon.
Lear walks towards the fray, Hoopa looking excited to battle some more beside their friend. The prince looks forward to Rose and Cheren, the two smiling back at him. Lear then flashes his signature grin at them, clearly sending a direct message: let's take care of these fools first.
"Heh…he sure looks confident as ever." Rose says.
"…I'm sure you have plenty of questions though. I promise I'll clear things up after we're done stopping Team Break!" Cheren looks at her with a determined look.
Rose nods. "Right-! Now I feel even more fired up than ever! Let's do this, Steffan!"
"Aye!" Steffan stands in front of Rose, filled with newfound vigor.
The battle continues from there, the tides turning against Team Break this time around. After a good while of battling, some heart to hearts, working along side Lear, and even the revelation as to why Team Break was doing this in the first place, the PML was saved and the semi-finals can continue…the following day! To say this helped with public perception about Lear was an understatement.

Night becomes day, and the semi-finals can finally begin! Both teams stand on each side, determined to to win this match. Cheers ring out, spectators rooting for either team with the same amount of passion and excitement. In that moment, Lear and Rose look towards one another in silence, before Lear starts to speak.
"To think you'd actually make it to the semi-finals! I'm impressed." He grins at her.
"Lear-! I thought you learned your lesson to not underestimate your opponents!" Brock shouts. "She's been through a long journey across multiple regions so far, and her journey in Pasio has helped her grow as a trainer."
"Hmph! …that much is obvious." Lear crosses his arms. "…just like you've shown your skill and determination in multiple regions before stepping foot in my island, you've done the exact same here. That is a fact I can't ignore."
"…heh! Feels nice to get acknowledged by you, your highness!" Rose bows a bit, to then stand straight once more and adjust her hat.
"Tch- D-Don't get too comfortable-!" Lear raises his voice, then gritting his teeth. He then places his hands on his hips and smirks. "You're not the only one who's grown! I've become much stronger since the last time we've faced one another. This tie we have…will be broken by my team!"
"Not if we do it first-!" Brock smirks.
"…Lear-! Know that…I'm glad you've grown throughout this tournament. A certain someone may have enlightened me on some things that happened…" She glances at Cheren before looking back at Lear. "…and I was right to think that there was more to you than that attitude of yours. …I won't hold back, and I know you won't hold back either! I want to see your newfound strength!" Rose takes on a determined stance, Steffan also readying himself for the battle.
"I wouldn't ask for any less! Rachel, Sawyer, everyone….it's showtime!" Lear moves his hand forward, grinning with excitement.
The battle was neck and neck, neither side wanting to yield. Yet, it was clear that everyone was not only giving it their all, but also enjoying themselves as well. One by one, team members were out of the battle, only leaving Lear and Rose to finish off the battle. They passionately shouted moves for their Pokemon to do, increasing the excitement and tension sky high. Suddenly, their sync stones shone brightly, both sides knowing what's to come. Both trainers look ahead, faces lighting up as their sync stones burst with light at the same time to do one last attack. Steffan Mega Evolves, triggering Battle Bond immediately to charge a powerful Aura Sphere. Hoopa on the other hand conjures up a massive vortex to engulf the Lucario entirely. They launch their moves with all their might and causes a massive explosion.
The dust settles…and…
∘₊✧─────✧₊∘∘₊✧─────✧₊∘
"…the moment I could see what happened clearly, I saw Steffan still standing, while Hoopa struggled to stay afloat. I was aching all over, trying to keep myself on my two feet. Suddenly, Hoopa drops down, Lear quickly rushing to him- They fainted." Rose crosses her arms to then look at the camera. "…that was the day that I won the PML."
"Hmph- I'll admit, it still stings that I lost to you, but…it was the first time in a very long time that I felt joy during a Pokemon battle." Lear looks away, smiling a bit.
"Hehe, you told me you'd only say that once, your highness…" Rose giggles.
"W-Why are you always like this!?" Lear whips his head to stare back at her, annoyed. He then relaxes his posture before scoffing. "…you were always like this. So friendly and carefree. It annoyed me. …but like I said back then when I lost, you were the one that eventually set me on this path to value the power of bonds. It was the lack of trust that costed me the win that day, but I assure you- It won't happen again next time!" He grins.
Rose smiles at him, patting his shoulder. "Heh, I'm dying for a rematch, Lear! Especially with all the excitement with this new Arceus Cup stuff!"
"Hah! It has been a while since then, has it?" Lear pauses for a moment. "…we'll have to settle the score soon." He then looks towards Hoopa. His small friend smiles back at him, excited for that day to come.
"Hopefully that answers your question! Sure it ended up being a long way to say 'yes' but…that battle is one I'll never forget!" Rose says, beaming.
