My problems with Bollywood and Tellywood

I think what I find the funniest is how Punjab and Punjabi people are ignored until someone wants to have an energetic dance number or be the life of the party and then suddenly everyone is from Amritsar, Patiala, Ludhiana you name it. 

Sikh people are ignored and our religion is accessorized until you want to put someone in the army or you want to make a joke out of them. Your martyr or your comic relief. 

Also, not everyone in Punjab is a Sikh?

We exist, our culture exists. We are not background people. My religion is not a toy for you to throw into your movies and shows and then fail to represent accurately. My sacred words of Gurbani are not war cries, not catchy phrases for your hero to say before he beats someone up.

also have you noticed how in tellywood whenever they show a sikh family they end up showing them following all hindu traditions and no sikh ones ??? Like just make them hindu then ?????

Yeah usually Punjabi families are shown with the Sobha Singh painting of Guru Nanak on their walls and then an alter of a Devi and everyone kneels in front of that. While mool mantar track from Rang de basanti plays in the background 😤😶💀
